- How to setup the STB Emulator Color Buttons on your Fire Stick TV or Android box.
So you can add to favorite do a search, which is great.
*****To remove a button*****
- Hold the OK button and press down arrow to go to the key you want to delete.
- Release the center button and press it again.
- Now go to delete button and press and confirm.
- Repeat the same steps for any other buttons.

Mate. I never comment on UA-cam videos but I feel like I need to thank you. Sometimes my remote’s coloured buttons work and sometimes they don’t. I’ve had to unplug the TV and firestick multiple times but I’ll never have to do that again. Thanks so much!

Fully exit out of the app so when you open the app. It opens on the main screen, then hit the menu button and follow these steps.

Great video. Very helpful but I think I accidentally deleted my yellow button key as it's not in the list anymore. Anyway I can retrieve it? Incidentally, yellow button works on my TV remote but I'd rather have it on the Amazon remote. Thanks.

Was able to easily add the shortcut keys, this is great thank you! One question though--how do you search movie titles with the Blue Find button? A blank field pops up when you click on search, but that's it, no virtual key board is enabled.
Hit search then hit the menu button on the remote and you will get the keyboard option.

Hi Jason. Awesome video. I saved the rewind key for green and the fast forward key for yellow. Then I use the rewind key (Long) for paging down, and the fast forward key (Long) for paging up. I soon realized that it would be better to do green and yellow as LONG and the paging as a regular press. How do I fix this. Is it possible to switch them.
I set the buttons, the I hit the red one and my EPG guide i gone. Can go back to the way it was. Any idea how to fix it now? I uninstalled the STB emulator and installed back on. No difference. Even my favorities showed up on the fresh installation.

Hi, my ok/enter button has been removed when using iptv app on Amazon fire stick, I know how to add the colour buttons but don’t know how to add the ok button
Hey Jason I am wondering how I would add fast forward, pause and play, and rewind to my fire stick remote. When I click them on my remote with having them added as configurations or not the buttons still do not preform the actions I would like them too. Please get back to me as soon as possible!
This is on stbemu as well. When I am on UA-cam for example all three work. I just got a fire stick today and I cannot find anything on the internet of how to make the fast forward, pause play, rewind work

Programming was super simple, appreciate the tutorial, but now my question how come when I’m watching a movie I can’t rewind or fast forward? Is it because these buttons are programmed for red green yellow and blue?
Yes. That's the down side of it. But did you try the left & right button? Depending on your tv, try this way.

Hi Jason. We do use the fast forward and rewind button a lot while watching recorded programs. I try to programs other keys(like sound increases and decrease) but that doesn’t work is there anyother way to do this (without losing FF and Rewind botton) ?

Thank you for creating this video. I have an issue that when I save a favorite channel, it does not save it. I see the red star but then it disappears when I select to view favorites only…also, on a previous version there was a “all channels” folder where I could see my favorites, on this updated version they removed that folder so not sure how I can see all favorites channels in the same folder. I did the setup the same way and the color button works. But unfortunately the rewind forward while watching a video no longer works. Any idea ?
Your limited to what you can pick. You will have to get a Bluetooth remote
After setting the keys like you did i notoced i cannot forward or rewind anymore. Did we remove forwd & rewind in the process you provided to assign color keys?
Yes, because you are limited to the buttons on the firestick remote. If you want all the options, you should connect a bluetooth remote to your firestick.

Hi question for you. Under video club the thumbnail for every movie is blacked out or blocked. Is there anyway I can see the thumbnail again for the movie. The movie does work just I liked when I saw the cover of the titled movie please let me know if it can work again thanks

Thank you for the video. But the forward/rewind buttons are used in forwarding/rewinding the video. When I followed this, the video forward/rewind stopped working (Fire TV 4K) . I do not have any other buttons to use. I tried using Netflix/Prime buttons, but there can not be programmed through this procedure.

No you can't. There isn't much to choose from.

If you do, hookup a keyboard to it and use the keyboard to delete the back key.

I was able to program it on my friends remote, but when watching movies on IPTV, rewind or fast forward no longer works.
On my remote, while using IPTV, I press the OK button for 2 seconds and a pop up shows up in the middle of the screen. That is much easier

Once you add the search key to your remote. Hit the menu button and ten go to keyboard.

@@JasonTech I am assuming you're talking about the buttons on the circular pad. They are unassignable for me. Currently, I have assigned the rewind button for the search function as I don't anticipate using that button much.
I used an OTG type A cable to connect a small USB media keyboard, which I then used the process in this vid to assign the colours to F1 F2 F3 and F4. As a bonus, the keyboard also has page up and down buttons, which makes it much quicker to browse the channel listings.
I am able to delete.. go to Amazon firestick line.. hold center button and press down arrow to go to the key you want to delete.. release the center button and press again.. now go to delete button and press and confirm.. repeat the same for other buttons..
How do you get to the search option and can you search for any channel?
quick question - once you map the forward or rewind buttons to red, green, blue or yellow button functions, you cannot use the forward or rewind functions while playing a video. do you know how you can overcome this?
No you can't, it's one or the other. But if you have the latest version of the StbEmu. It has the color buttons now. I will be posting a video on this soon.

Hello, great video. Question - I set up my red, yellow, green, blue just as the video showed under rewind and fast forward. However, I am watching a movie and unable to use my normal rewind and fast forward function for the movie. How do I change that?
You can always remove the key. But your limited with buttons to pick from.

Yes. Green button then go to Only Favorite.
Incase you a wrong color setup, not able to delete the saved keys.. any way to delete the saved key ?
To remove a color button
- Go to the key (Button) you want to delete.
- Press the center button on the remote (OK Button) and hold it down.
- Now go to delete button and press and confirm.
- Repeat the same steps for any other buttons you want to remove.

Any idea when keyboard stuck on screen after entering pin , does it happens to all ?? There is no ok button only previous or next and it doesn’t work after entering pin and video starts in background but keyboard sticks on screen forever

Try using the left & right button but make it a long press.

When you add the star to make it a favourite, where do you find quick access to all your favourites?
You can't, Stbemu doesn't work like that. You will have to switch to favorite only.
you can't use rewind or fast forward button, once you program color button any suggestion.
You don't have many button options. Pick only the color buttons that you use all the time and don't do any long press buttons. Leave the long press for FF.

Hey Jason, what are the best services for this application? I’m currently using one from newwaytv. Not very satisfied with it. Sports often don’t work on it. I’m open to purchasing a different one if you know of any that are high quality.

@@JasonTech hello Jason, for some reason on my stb emu app the menu is not full screen. It’s like 1/4. When I click something to watch it is full screen. But the actual menu part is tiny. How do we fix this?

How would you rewind movies if you use the rewind button to search content?

Hi Jason, thanks for the tips. I cant seem to get the search button working. Once I search in all movies I can find the movie but can exit out of the search option. The movie will stay be playing in the background but I can't exit out of the search screen.
Mine exits out right away, it might be the version you have. Did you try hitting the menu button?

Hey, I;m using this with another android device now, I'm having issues with the green button, I've set it to long press and when I hold it down it brings up the sort menu but the second I press up or down to navigate that menu (whilst still holding down the green button) it defaults to the red button menu (which is a single press) so i cannot actually navigate the green sort menu, any ideas to remedy this?
I would delete the key and then re-add it.

I’ve been having some issues where I reset the key mapping and it works fine, however it then resets for some reason, it’s not when the box turns off it just seems to be after a period of time. So frustrating when I’m trying to view my favourites because the view menu only comes up when I hold the button down but when doing that I cannot actually navigate it, the second I release it goes back to the ‘find’ menu instead. I am definitely saving the key mapping once I’ve done it as it does tend to work for a while. The box is an X96 and the app is sbmetu pro if that makes any difference. I’d love any suggestions because it’s frustrating as hell! Cheers man

There is a way where I was able to make it work PARTIALLY. First, you'll have to manually map the fwd and rewind buttons to the fwd and rewind activities. Then, you set up TWO OF YOUR PREFERRED COLORS to be "long presses". In my case, I selected fwd lp and rewind lp to be Yellow and Blue. You can potentially try the same with any remaining buttons (playpause or vol+ or vol- or mute) and long press them to be the other two colors. However, I did not do this step as I didn't have the need. It takes a little getting used to, but it's not bad

That's the problem with this remote, you are very limited on buttons. You can remove the long key and pick another button.
