    This video was my keto turning point! I kicked off in April 2022, and the journey's been eye-opening. Zoom to 2023, and I've transformed from 285 lbs in March to a lean 185 lbs. Thanks to a CGM, I've cracked the glycemic code. Battling Type 2 D., my A1c is a cool 5.2 mmol/l now, with higher HDL and lower triglycerides - except that LDL discussion 🤔.: ua-cam.com/video/axVHp0_O8ek/v-deo.html 💪🥑📈

    I’m a post menopausal woman and have been Fasting basically OMAD for over 6yrs. I’m thin but gradually the weight is coming back. I only had 15# to lose when I began and kept it off with OMAD for that time. I’m pretty sure I am not getting enough protein and all the weight is coming back in my midsection. I do 30m on my elliptical daily and take numerous supplements. What am I doing wrong and what should I do to get healthy again. I’m 63yrs old.

    Starting back on keto, and hearing about the fat storing faster part confuses me a little. I think my meal plan is around 10% carb, 40% fat, 50% protein. Is this adequate? And does fat storing apply only when we begin to surplus, so if I am in my deficit it shouldn't matter as much? Thank you!

    • @YamatoForever

      You might have issues in the bathroom. That much protein with little to no fiber and not a lot of fat could mean trouble. If you're older like me make sure your kidneys are good before eating that much protein. My macros on keto were 67% fat, 8% carbs, 25% protien and I still had issues with bowels. I do have low T3 so that didn't help.

    • @New_Creature_
      @New_Creature_ 9 місяців тому

      That's perfect. You're only going to have trouble in the bathroom if you get more towards 3% carbs, but even then it goes away eventually. No carbs, always in fat burning mode. Fat storage is only going to be a problem if you're doing nothing

      .8 gram for every pound of a persons weight. From almost all the research i have done.

    Thomas what if you follow a keto diet because of a gut issue, like IBS? I cannot eat most fibre, as it causes such horrid symptoms. • @dylanadams1455
      @dylanadams1455 9 місяців тому +2

      there's still plenty of fibre in meat and veg, esp. green leafy veges. Things like broccoli and cabbage, your brassica family, should be adequate. There are also studies implying that the need for fibre is reduced when you're not blocking your system up with gluey starchy carbs. In fact it can damage the gut lining. I guess look for high fibre veges, discount the ones that affect you adversely

      @marklowe5939 9 місяців тому

      @@jennalud4748high carbs with high fat is a perfect storm to make you fat. High carbs can make you fat. The way keto works is this the first month eat all the fat you can and keep the carbs below 20 grams. Your body will start to use fat as its energy source. After the first month cut back a little on fats but keep carbs at 20 grams. Your body is at this point burning fat. The thing is you have to cut back some fat so you’re burning body fat. You also have to keep eating enough protein to maintain muscle mass. That typically is about 1 gram per pound of whatever your goal weight is. Don’t exercise too strenuously but gentle walking is a great way to burn extra fat. If you get crazy exercising too hard your body may respond by pumping out cortisol. I’ve lost hundreds of pounds doing this and my labs are incredibly healthy. A person can get so caught up chasing studies they lose sight of what actually works.

    Thomas, in regards to the point #8 about meal timing - what if you intermittent fast AND engage in high-intensity training? For example, my IF eating schedule has my first largest meal around 12:00pm and second largest meal around 7:00pm after I return home from the HIIT session. I burn anywhere from 800-1000 calories in those HIIT sessions. How should my caloric intake be structured with this schedule? I think eating less at the 7pm time ("dinner") might not be enough and leave me hungry or malnourished? I also find if I go too overboard on calories at the 12pm meal I am sluggish for a few hours following. Thank you!

    These advise doesn’t make sens :if you reduce fat at our need which roughly 1g/kg of body weight of fat+ 2g/kg of BW of protein therefore for a 80Kg body who needs 2500Kcal a day, you will have 720Kcal from fat 640Kcal from protéine, the rest will be 285 g of carbohydrates!! That’s a lot 😂… if you try to earn this amount of carbohydrates you will need to increase your daily intake of carbohydrates…
    Mr Delauer, I like you a lot but I’ve noticed you’ve changed a lot 😊

    Misinformation, please educate yourself on the Randall cycle. What you are saying about fat is only true in the presence of exogenous carbohydrates.

    I’ve started eating a whole chicken breast per day and eating bit more carbs, and have had less cravings throughout the day. I feel full, not like I’m about to explode, but satisfied to the point that if I were to indulge I would not feel well.

    IF I want to eat more, THEN I have to do more. Been watching you for almost a year now and I am shredded up because of that IF/THEN statement. Fiber, half a sweet potato almost every day.

    Everything this guys says is geared to fatties that want to lose weight. Case in point, eat less as the day goes along. If you're a teen with a mega metabolism whom is struggling to gain weight, you can forget about half of what this guy says, or severely modify it. (Like don't fast more than once a month, etc. Don't have as long of a wait between meals, NEVER workout fasting, etc.)

    Im starting to understand where the S.A.D. diet comes from. Everybody agrees that nobody has a perfect diet/exercise routine down, so eat a little of everything not to much of 1 thing and move around to have a healthy life.

    So next week our bodies will start working on raw sugar best… the week after water will make you fat and so forth. Gotta keep changing the dogma….lol This guy is becoming a joke. He flip flops more than any other content flim flammer on the net. I used to believe this guy but he makes it up based on whatever study he read last. I dropped hundreds of pounds doing keto… that’s my study. I do notice I have to change things up here and there…so it’s not a static process but the fundamental process doesn’t stop working. Our bodies are a bit different and sometimes we have to tweak our diets but the fact that insulin causes storage never changes. Ketosis will ALWAYS be healthy and will always help you control your weight. Small spikes in insulin with protein will help you build muscle. You can get by with small amounts of carbs and build muscle. Next week new studies will come out that’ll say something else but the truth remains. People are getting healthy eating keto. Follow that and you’ll do well.
