Melina is an offshoot of Marika like Millicent is an offshoot of Malenia.
Wholehearedly believe this.
Are Offshoots canon?
Marika's children are obviously receiving some of the nature of the parasitism of the Erdtree.
It grows sproutlings throughout its root network in a wish to spread.
Almost like an ash tree.
Millicent has A link to Malenia, because she is a growing offshoot.
Notice that only the feminine may sprout offshoots as a form of Parthenogenesis.
Melina has that same status with Marika.
Ranni would have had offshoots by now as well if she had not given death unto her flesh. But without a body, she cannot spread.
But.
Radagon has a unique benefit. He Is a female. And a male.
I believe Messmer is His offshoot.
Radagon follows order.
But, Messmer being his offspring, doesnt have to mean he follows the golden order.
Perhaps, Messmer found something pure and Real in the original Order of the crucible. Hence why Messmer did What he did in causing the elden ring to shatter by planting his Eye, the rune of death, at its very core.
@champ215fcp only millicent is Canon but there's a strong argument for melina
@@rancidavocado2166 I was joking because wtf is an off shoot but I get it gang
Offshoots mean what again
Messmer has probably dethroned Miquella as my favorite Elden Ring character.
Miquellas turned into my least favorite lol
crazy how there is no more elden ring after dlc....
So sad... I hope there's an Elden ring 2 or something with this story it's insane
Still betting on Radagon’s champion status being from Messmer’s rebellion per the brick hammer description. Just an ordinary mortal getting singled out by Marika and the Greater Will, that’s the behavior that sparks devotion. 😂
Dude, I was thinking the same thing! With Miriel’s confusion on the choice of Radagon as consort as well as Marika referring to Radagon as a loyal dog to the Golden Order post-Shattering, I always wondered if he was a relatively normal warrior who was chosen a figurehead for the Golden Order and/or Marika’s pet, basically.
The lore very much implies Radagon was never some normal guy. An adept master of incantations, sorcerery, and combat as well as the founder of a religion. Guy was never some Joe shmoe even if he didn't originate as Marikas Animus which he most certainly did.
@@A_Black_Sheep94 haven’t beaten the dlc yet but I am excited about what peeks and questions the lore is addressing already.
@@cynreiusacari3163 I'm about ½ to ¾ done *I think* and the lore is starting to come together somewhat but there's still a lot of missing details.
@@A_Black_Sheep94 glad I have something to look forward too! I’m exploring between boss fights to raise blessings when I have any trouble. Unlocked the big 3 in SK and knowing my play style relaxing sightseeing is nice. I also made it to the new rune farming spot! About to reach 60 vigor and start focusing on fp increase.
Not only cooked, but ate it and cleaned everything up for the next meal. Great theory, hope to see more for the DLC
Dude, this is solid gold! I think that you are correct with Radagon being the puppet master behind the scenes. I believe that the seduction was him, using marika's body, convincing the hornsent to use the flesh of the shamans to forge the Gate of Divinity and then the betrayal was him sending messmer to slaughter them all.
Ah, that gate of divinity theory is very interesting
I’m really happy to have discovered your channel from this theory! Playing through the DLC has been amazing. And being a part of the community during this time makes it so much better!
I'm truly beginning to think Marika is fake or died a long time ago and was revived by Radagon to become the new god of the coming age
Okay, spoiler warning for Messmer!

In the Messmer remembrance it is stated, that Marika plucked his eye out. The word "plucked" is literally the same as Enya uses.
At least, it really supports the idea that death rune might have been the eye.
Also, if we allow ourselves to speculate, maybe the Death Rune was was Messmer's eye all along?
Was this made before the dlc if it was you called it on a lot of things
Watching this video, I was also thinking. Along the DLC, through the Miquella's crosses, we see quotes from MIquella, like, "I abandon here my so and so part of my body/soul", and near those crosses you can also pick up little flowers (Empyrean-Blood Burgeon item), and when you find St.Trina she's also a plant.
This is the best theory I've seen so far. I mean damn, ygdrasil was there the whole time
Thanks for the kind comment!
I've got it that Messmer is the frenzied flame she speaks of, since it looks chaotic. I've not started my DLC yet, oh the different potential outcomes. 😅😅😅
I fucking get it! Same. This whole time I've been solely focused on Marika
The story feels way too incomplete. We need more dlc.
It's like Steven universe pink diamond and rose quarts and Steven being Radagon also we've never seen her eyes.
Dude your video is great. I don't hear many youtubers talking about the Norse connections to Elden Ring. I felt very alone in my realizations of who was influenced by who haha.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it! I usually only hear people reference it sometimes in passing as well. There are a few videos dedicated to it, like you said, but I’m not sure if anyone has put it together in this way for a lore video. I appreciate your comment
I feel like it drew from Norse mythology, Greek Mythology, traditional Japanese folklore, English and Celtic mythology… this game is like a mythology lovers’ wet dream, sans no Persian or Arabian mythology that I noticed (but I’m sure there are references, even).
And just to say, I’m in full agreement with you - this is a “yes, and!” Not a “no, but…”
@@yurinoworry It draws from a lot of cultures, I think Norse is just the strongest out of them. It's an incredible game with the craziest amalgamation of our own history and cultures blended with fantasy horror. The dlc areas are definitely my favorite out of the game so far too. Just georgious.
So I’ve beaten the dlc but I just wanna say the physics flask states she made them for messmer then stops after she’s abandons him and then ig seemly decides to scatter the pieces of this she made for her first born to every minor Erdtree which I don’t think she’d done
i think when she say thou art yet to become me , to become a god , shes reffering to a defiance of radagon. He went and did something on his own , something she didnt want in an atempt to best her and he failed. (at least thats what she thought when she spoke those words) like "nice try radagon but you are not yet me a god so you cant best me. As even tho hes part of marika , he also has his own will
Honestly, with the lore drop of Miquella abandoning aspects of himself like St. Trina, which are still independent living entities, I 100% believe Melina is an aspect of Marika, and is specifically the Gloam Eyed Queen that was fully unsealed by the defeat of Maliketh and freeing the rune of Death. It all makes too much sense
Torrent has a daddymommy confirmed
Interesting lore video i did not made these relation of Messmer with these rune of death, melina and Radagon stuff 😮
You know I had a theory when Marika removed the rune of death, she didn't exactly know what she doing and she broke or chipped off a fragment by accident and didn't know how to put it back into the rune (just a guess since Radagon has history being a smith, I'm sure she didn't, their opposite each other) so she hid the rune without Radagon's knowledge (same body different minds) and after Radagon went off to marry Renalla, I'm sure (just a guess really) that Ranni somehow seen or happen to see the rune of death, I'm sure it has a color combo she's most likely never seen outside of Malikith, and recognized it and that's how she got the opportunity to steal a fragment of the rune of death and not get SUPER murdered by Malikith for even touching his blade lol just a guess anyways
I meant to add she hid the rune inside her own body without Radagons knowledge and ranni saw it, somehow, some way and she stole the fragment from her father
well she did, considering she has a infamous, named hammer.
Tbh now that the DLC dropped, there’s a couple things here and there the DLC smacked down but I think you’re on the money with a big chunk of that.
When you said Loki I was whaaa? 🙄 then you mentioned his kids and I’m like oooooooo… wait oooo the eclipse!
I dont know man. I think you have a lot of good points, but i think you missed a few as well. Marika plucked the rune of death from the Elden Ring in order to stop the gloam eyed queen. Thats spelled out pretty clear. Maliketh defeats the gloam eyed queen, yes also true. The gloam eyed queen uses black flame, which is powered by destined death, which is the rune of death. Marika plucked the rune of death and gave it to Maliketh in order to rob the Gloam eyed queen of her power, thus allowing Maliketh to kill the Gloam eyed queen. That is spelled out pretty clearly in game. My theory is that Melina was the Gloam eyed queen. She is cannonically a daughter of Marika, she could have been an Empyrean when she had a body. When we meet her, she states "i am burned and bodyless". She is a spirit or soul when we meet her. We know spirits can come back to life in the Elden ring universe. The souls are "hewn into the erd tree" Maliketh kills Melina as she is the Gloam eyed queen. Her soul is sent to the erd tree, and Marika gives her new life at the foot of the erd tree. Where she finds new purpose as the kindling maiden. I do feel like maybe our tarnished is somehow related to a demigod. The start of the game has Melina discussing with torrent that we are special. We also seem to get kore help than any other tarnished. Hell, the only ither tarnished to even touch a great rune is Vike, and he was nailing Lanseax the dragon on a regular basis. So, when the Lord of Frenzy Flame burns the Erd tree to dust and jills the spiritual form of the Erd tree, Melina's memorys of being the gloam eyed queen are unlocked. Hell, maybe even when we release the rune of death. She does seem to be a fan of death after all.
Data miners found evidence to support this theory - that we are in fact an illegitimate child of Marika, which is why we can hear the sound of a mausoleum when we awake at the beginning of the game. Only demigods are resurrected at the mausoleums, which would also help explain why we are capable of killing gods & demigods. This would make sense as to why we are doing Marika's bidding the whole time too.
The best theory i've heard. 10/10.
Holy fuck, that explains why messmer has red hair without being a child of Radagon, because it was always Radagon at the beginning. She may have turned into a woman to bear a child then and rise up the ranks as seen in the picture at shadow keep, but it's the fact that she ended up upping and leaving that begs the question because why? This whole dlc is crazy and sad
The issue is that Radagon got his red hair as curse of Fire Giants. And the war against Giants happened after Messmer.
@@capollyon it was speculated that they placed the curse on marika and that's when she split radagon (the rune of order) and the red hair from herself and the Elden ring. Remember radagon was a champion who came out of nowhere during the wars in the lands between but they could've always shared a body when they were in the land of shadow
@@ejyapop55 correct. But it does not explain Messmer's hair, since Messmer was born before war with Fire Giants.
Yep not just norse. Heavy Celtic influence as well.
I'm loving this video, but it's real quiet and i can't hear it over the AC, or street noise. I got to get home to the couch and see the rest
Was looking for this comment I listen on shoks and it's hard to hear.
Yeh, I work with loud equipment and this video is fire, but I did have to strain to catch everything even with noise canceling
I’ll up the volume for the next one. Thank you all for letting me know
@aTragedi the good news is, the content is so good that we tried harder to hear it!
@aTragedi appreciate it! And fr, this is my favorite theory vid I've seen in like the past two years and it has my mind going like crazy as I play the dlc
Shouldnt radagon be a mix of thor nd loki? Because his description fits thor more because red hair, hammer, and his usage of lightning. But his three children are like lokis children hel fenrir nd jorm. But tbh i dont see how radahn is fenrir
I thought he might have some Thor in him as well, however the hammer belongs to Marika so I didn’t see it that way myself. As for Radahn, that is the most speculation of the three children so I get if you see it differently
Fenrir is the father of 2 other wolves named Sköll and Hati. The myth says that they chase the sun and moon to keep them rotating and when Ragnarok happens they will catch up and devour the moon and sun. Considering that, Radahn being based on all 3 in a sense makes a lot more sense.
you have some interesting theories but you keep making weird assumptions some of what you say could be true but you kinda miss the point. I think its possible that Marika done all of this to stop Radagon because we see Marika shattering the elden ring but Radagon tires to fix it, however you went completely off the rails with Mesmer killing Gogwyn and what you said about Rani. Rani hated Radagon for what he did she hated her red hair and everything Radagon stood for so there is absolutely no way she helped him kill Godwyn.
Unless that was partially the plan, to get Ranni to act out in anger. Radagon is very off putting in a lot of ways…
Oh no they killed Baldur the golden, I mean Godwyn... Oh no... he didnt see it coming. Killed by a thing banished from the world, a thing that cant kill you so you forget about it. The only thing that could destined him to death. Killed by someone that only follow Marika. If only someone could be Marika... oh no Radagon... What did you do. I swear Radagon could fit he culprit to Godwyns murder. And who is the murder a benefit for. Oddly, his daughter.
I don't trust Drow's words but I'll listen
So uh... now what?
What if radagon is a silver tear!? 😮😂
Edit: or marika could’ve sipped the sulivis kool aid, radager IS married to a Carian. That would kinda make sense, given that conversation with the Pope Dog 🐢 Muriel
Omg you absolutely demolished Makar
Forgot to use my skills and everything hahaha
Niddhog the Serpent
Saw this after the dlc, a bit far off but the spirit is there, maybe will happen on the innevitable elden ring 2 or Ds2 3
The tree leaves is square
Keep waiting on you to say it but never did. Considering Selivus is in the other tower next to Ranni, hence In Caria castle etc. Wouldn't Radagon learn about this potion or ability to change fate? Maybe Radagon gave it to Marika idk
Ehh… did this age well?
I honestly am still not sure. I did find it interesting that like Hod, Messmer is actually blind. But, other than that, there is still more discovery to be made with the lore
@@aTragediI don’t think you’re completely off base, even with more information we now have 🤔, Radagon has always bothered me
Mesmer is a bum lol Mesmer comes and goes with 0 fanfare, he is a nobody that came out of nowhere who nobody cares for despite being a child of Marika.
he doesnt know🤫
Mispronouncing Marika is a bit, right? It rhymes with America.
Haha probably just my accent
Marika is not the gloam eyed queen, the gloam eyed queen was defeated by maliketh, incase to take the destined death
Honestly a dick move with a title like that
You think so? What makes you feel that way?
I'm confused too, there's not a single spoiler in this video or title
is miquella blind like malenia?
Still inconclusive
*SPOILERS*
In his boss fight, both of his eyes are closed, however that could also be because he’s maneuvering his body with his spirit, as you can see his spirit hands as well
Who’s “Maurka”?
😂😂😂😂You think you'll get answers from the DLC
Why do you keep saying marika like that? 😂
haha this is the second comment I've gotten about that and I'm just going to blame it on my accent XD
The gloam eyed queen dates back to the eternal cities and the reign of dragons pre Marika becoming a God, its not Melina sorry
I think that Marika was the Gloam-Eyed Queen and that was what qualified her as an Empyrean. Radagon saw this, and decided to use her since he himself was NOT an Empyrean and therefore could not ascend to Godhood.
@@diesel_tech_three4332 Marika was the gloam eyed queens sister, alongside an unnamed third sister. Marika, TGEQ, and their third sister were the rulers of the three eternal cities respectively. Marika betrayed her people and allied with the Greater Will to become a God. The details of the event itself are next to non existent but the event itself are what caused TGEQ to harbor such I'll will towards Marika for betraying them. I really wish I could direct you towards the video that explains that but I can't for the life of me remember. Also I'm pretty sure Radagon is the external manifestation of Marikas Animus.
@@A_Black_Sheep94 That is interesting and I'll look for the video because i'd love to watch it.
That would fit with the Marika = Odin concept, as Odin also had two brothers.
O
RL190 to beat SOTE. 😅
Uncoordinated Noobs.
If you didnt beat it at RL0, you are a scrub.
Damn bruh u butchering marika's name
