    Just bought this, and I love it so much! Its my first Cintiq, so its taken quite a bit to get used to, but so far, I'm loving it. This was definitely worth the splurge! And it's the perfect size! And it's just the right size.
    Edit- I realize I commented on this about a year ago 😅, well glad I finally got one.

    Great review.. And finally Wacom!! I've been saying for years now that they were missing the mark by not having a +- 17" tablet. Best Buy here I come..

    Hello Colin. Its been a while since you review this product ,but I just bought my Cintiq this week in May 2021. I have a problem understanding how this tablet works . My Cintiq does not mirror the desktop, would you go more in-depth about how to set it up. Thanks.

    Thanks for pointing out the differences between the standard and pro models - I haven't noticed anyone doing that. Kind of critical at those price differences. I'm wondering if they can go to one usb-c thunderbolt cable for power,video, etc to a laptop instead of that mess, one of the few things stopping me from a purchase. How many watts is that power supply? One other question is how well does it fit in a laptop backpack with that semi-folding stand attached? I don't want to lug two bags... Thanks!

    I live the cintiq 16. It's the perfect size in my opinion. Not too big, not too small. Wacom should have been came out with a display tablet that was mid range in size.

    Great review thank you. I’ve had a Cintiq 16 and a Artist 15.6 Pro from XP-Pen. The digital pen of the Artist 15.6 Pro is really really good and it has a laminated display (no or at least very little parallax) and the price is really low. The drawing experience is almost as good as the Wacom Cintiq 16 plus it has shortcut keys along the side.

    At $650 this is fantastic. I have a Cintique 22HD which I love, and an Intuos for the laptop. I'm actually tempted to get this one, and use the Intuous on one of the other machines. IMHO there's no other tablet or pen tablet. I bought an off-brand tablet years ago - it was junk. It's Wacom for me. Period. 👍 I use both the Cintique and the Intuous for both retouching and painting in PS. Love the reviews, Colin! And the smell of new electronics ! 😁

      I have the 22hd too. This is actually the same resolution, so I'm very tempted. Due to its size, would give an option of working with an extra monitor on my desk, which is always useful.

    Hello brother, thank you for posting this. There´s almost no info about these devices being used for photo editing. I was looking into buying the Wacom Cintiq Pro, which it has 99% adobe RGB colorspace, also 4k. My biggest concern is, and maybe you could help me out here, that it seems these tablets will wash out the blacks, so it won´t have the accuracy and finess of a 4k monitor. Can you confirm this? is it somehow compromissing the editing process since you won't be looking at a "real" image, or that it won't match the printed version? In some other video one artist was sayong that a wacom is for drawing and designing, not for photo retocuhing and color accuracy.
    greetings

      No. But a lof or people disables that feature in the touch displays when available. They recommend to do this to avoid unvoluntary gestures (zoom, etc.).

    I create book-covers for a job and i was considering this, but the color accuracy is what keeps me from buying it :s I'm getting the Wacom Intuos Pro delivered today, hope i made the right choice.. :s Any feedback from people who know both would be welcomed

  • @callmedeno

    For the price I got the XP Pen 15.6 pro, has a ips panel/etched glass and pen tilt and a single USB type C with a included dp to hdmi adapter, express keys (8 to be exact) and a red ring/dial, free art glove for around $380.00 to $399.99 . little to no parallax and etched glass.
    The 16 hd cintiq has a non-ips display, some parallax, no included stand, uses wacoms proprietary connector, no included glove,no epress keys (express key remote sold seperately for $100.00), all for the price of $650.00 near $700.00...... if you want the pro version of the 16 cintiq that will be...$1,500.00 plus tax , which has ips,4k ips, etched glass, no parallax, wireless remote, and still no included stand.

    I review every other brand besides wacom, there just as good. Ya wacom has miss features sometimes but xp-pen, huion, and a few other brands I work with are alot better than wacom I personally believe. And the new model that one company is releasing soon that I'm testing will blow all companies out of the water. It's mobile amazing, comes in the different colors, can print. Wacom can't even do all that. But your reviews are great thank you.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  5 років тому +2

      not even a comparison. I have the iPad Pro and the surface is very slippery and you have to charge the pencil. . Remember you need a computer to plug into for the Cintiq of course. @@Emuspaul

      @@photoshopcafe I just bought an ipad pro 3rd gen last week to illustrate my own children's book with Procreate (I love it!) and I applied the iCarez matte screen protector. It did dull the colors a bit but it makes the surface less slippery. I had to get the ipad for line control which I just couldn't master with an intuos. I got the lateset model Apple pencil also and it charges rather quickly. I think 30 seconds charge gives 30mins use.
      I am still thinking about getting a Cintiq later on sometime so, thanks for the review.

    Personally, I'm not sure I could stand editing in 72% of NTSC color. I'd pay $1000 or more for the 90+% of Adobe RGB in the full HD resolution. In the TV studio, we used to joke that NTSC stood for "Never Twice the Same Color."

    • @emeralddarkness
      @emeralddarkness 5 років тому

      Honestly that and the lack of hotkeys are the only thing making me hesitate about buying this! The fact that you can still program shortcuts is great but whenever I draw with my intuos I always do it with one hand on the side buttons to undo, drag, and zoom or unzoom, and colordrop shades. I know you can buy the remote seperate but that's another $100 and that puts you darn close to the price of the 13 pro. I am deeply torn.

      You fail to understand the term "LOW COST". Not every student have a $1000 (bucks) lying around. With this baby u get to own a WACOM reliability albeit on a cheaper screen sans touch. But like most people, we can look at the monitor to do the final colour grading. Win-win.
