I really enjoy your videos when you are sponsored at upscale restaurants but you are at your absolute best when you're tasting and describing street and casual foods Mark. Excellent video.
Mark and Ying, Oh that steamed bun looked awesome! The sweet nuts are interesting addition. I luv bubble tea and will be making a vid soon. TFS. Enjoying your travels. Take care.
Mark, I just want to say that I only discovered your channel yesterday and I am already obsessed. I like how detailed you are with the price of the food, locations, ect. You should include your wife in the videos more because you guys are so cute. I'm Vietnamese and seeing your videos when you were in Saigon make me missed the cuisine there even more. There are great Vietnamese dishes in the US too, but to be honest, Vietnam is the only place where you can taste the originality and true flavor of the food.
hey mark!! first of all, thanks for you introduce Taiwan foods!and this video store「藍家割包」,its also my favorite~so happy you like it too!! next the 藍家割包, a store name is 陳三鼎, It tastes nice!!
Oh my! Mark's pronunciation of "gua bao" at 5:45 threw me off because it means something really sexually funny in my language. I literally laughed out loud! Highlight of my day, for sure!
You should have had the soup on the sign, si shen soup which is made from common yam, Job's tear, lotus seeds and tuckahoe, and then added to pork belly or pig small intestine. Cannot get from anywhere else only in Taiwan. It tastes a little bit milky with some herbal fragrance.
Hi Mark and Ying great video. Pork Belly Sandwich, is a typical and popular Taiwanese snack. Looks like a very simple Sandwich, but not everyone can do it well. But you could see where such a long line of local Taiwanese is , it has to taste great. Great video as always. Thumbs up!!
lmao! that outtake at the end was hilarious!"I didn't expect it to be... I thought it du... I was... I thought it was expecting... whaa... I was expeKing..."
The pork bun looked Amazing. Made my mouth water. I went to my first real Vietnamese morning market today. Wow! It was wonderful. Got to try some interesting foods and but my first batch of Morning Glory just because you seem to like them so much. Will be cooking them this afternoon.
hey mark, I have been watching your videos for quite some time now i just love watching the different foods you try and even though i would probably never get to travel to such great places. I have been more open minded to trying different foods, plus your expressions and details are exciting enough..thanks for sharing!! 😀
I know that bubble tea!! It is my favorite bubble tea in the world. I would recommend to drink that bubble tea without shaking it. When you drink it, you can feel the warmness of the moji balls and then instantly turn into coldness from the milk tea above. I found it to be very awesome drinking experience I have never tried before. Also, you can taste the tea flavor stronger without shaking and mixing the tea and the balls together. I hope next time you should try not to mix it together too, Mark!
I used to have a homestay student from Taiwan. She told me students always had to study, so her mom buys her Snacks and did her chores. She finished high school in Vancouver, but move to Alberta for Uni. I found her on FB she's married with a baby. Milk tea and bubble tea are also popular here where I live, but it's not really good for you.
If you stay longer till the evening, there is a stinky tofu stall besides the "Campus Bookstore" on the next block. It is the best stinky tofu in Taipei (at least southern Taipei) imo.
The bubble tea kinda looks like Zagu from the Philippines. Also the sealing machines are in the Philippines aswell, to seal cups such as the ones at Zagu stalls in the Malls.
Mark thought he was expecting! Congratulations Mark! LOL Oh man that bun looks good! Did ying eat the same thing? Or was she holding things for you? LOL
Hi Mark and Ying! Pork Belly Sandwich.Wow!! it looks so delicious..the bun is so soft and the pork belly melts in your mouth..now my mouth is watering ..I want one right now..its like a pork bun but this one is better..And the corn soup looks fresh and hot that's the way I like it..and wash it all down with boba milk tea..A perfect lunch! Thanks Mark and Ying for sharing.. Elwyn
We had a Taiwanese festival in Sydney today, but unfortunately nothing there really resembled the food in Taiwan nor the Taiwanese culture. I miss my island home every day.

the food was so good, you got a little tongue tied at the end. LOL. love the videos Mark!
+tom rogers Thanks Tom, haha yes!
Boba bubbles are tapioca balls not Mochi rice balls. Your videos are great and now I have to get to Taiwan to eat some of this great food!!!
Mark, for 藍家割包 you should ordered 四神湯 their specialty soup.
The pork bun looked Amazing. Made my mouth water.
I went to my first real Vietnamese morning market today. Wow! It was wonderful. Got to try some interesting foods and but my first batch of Morning Glory just because you seem to like them so much. Will be cooking them this afternoon.
+Bobby B Hey Bobby, so cool to hear that. Hope you enjoyed the morning glory!
We loved it. We'll be trying to grow them.
Hey Ying & Mark,
The Gua Bao looked delicous. Would've been better with some crackling ! Hah ha.
Funny blooper at the end.
Thanks.

love the blooper at the end!!
Gosh.. I miss Taiwan.
That Gua Bao reminds me of the Sweet bbq steam bun looks so good!
Actually the boba balls are cooked tapioca balls not mochi, they are different plants. I wish the boba here in the US was that cheap!
Same! The most expensive boba drink I've ever bought was $7, it was insane pricing for a regular sized drink at any other place.
The boba in Taiwan is cheaper and better tasting! The best of both worlds (;
+Bobett Bobberson Thanks Bobett, my mistake.
Mark Wiens Mark, I love your VLOGS! I have a question: do you plan on going to Tokyo someday and doing something there? Do you like Japanese food?
+mannysaurus19 he has been in Tokyo already, check out his other videos! Very nice food

Awesome Mark, hope you'd tell me what the recipe of Gua bao, if you know, or tell me about the texture of the dough and taste of the pork!
theres a place Houston and sugar land called fat bao. its really good
this dude violently shakes before taking a bite like he's FINALLY getting that dopamine hit he's been waiting an agonizing 2 hours for lol.
Awesome!
We had a Taiwanese festival in Sydney today, but unfortunately nothing there really resembled the food in Taiwan nor the Taiwanese culture.
I miss my island home every day.
