The Single Village Fix could be seen as just a pineapple mezcal daiquiri, but it’s more than that. It has a powerful combination of flavors that will vary greatly depending on your choice of mezcal.
Mezcals can feature smoky, vegetal, fruity, and spice notes. The fruity style of some single village mezcals reminded the drink’s creator, Thad Vogler, of pineapple. So, he paired mezcal with a pineapple gum syrup and featured the Fix on the opening menu at Beretta (San Fran) in 2008.

- 1.5 oz (45 ml) mezcal
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) pineapple gum syrup
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) lime juice

I have a couple sets of Surfside Sips straws (tall, short, etc.) and they are my go to for drinks that use a straw. Prefer them exponentially to metal straws (don't like how they feel on my teeth) and happy to support a 'small' business (my second order they thanked me for being a return customer).

Looks really good. I’m curious to know why you double strain over pebbled/crushed ice and not just dump or single strain. Is it just out of habit or is there a good reason?
I would usually single strain over pebble ice but did it out of habit because I had the strainer in hand.
This looks like a good summer drink. I am not a big Mezcal fan, but I have been cutting in tequila to partially replace mezcal. This works for people who have never tried Mezcal. I do like to add Mezcal to a spicy pineapple margarita. Just a small amount makes it seem like a chipotle pineapple margarita. Drink for thought.

Perhaps try splitting it 1 oz tequila + 1/2 oz mezcal.. although I think it works exceptionally well even with 1.5 oz of mezcal..

I made this with mezcal and really liked it. I thought the recipe would work really well using Uruapan Charanda Blanco rum, so I tried that. I think it was even better than the mezcal!

Haha, I was about to make it happen but then we were expecting our first baby so she didn’t want to be on camera… and now I film in the studio solo most of the time.

Mezcal is the BEST spirit in the world! Thank you for more of these recipes! Mezcal doesn’t get you drunk or give you headaches it’s simply the best!
Wtf you on about? Not only does drinking a bottle of mezcal give you a hangover itll make you dress up your pets as a judge and jury just so you can yell at them that they cant handle the truth!!
