Fun fact: In Gokaiger, when they change into Go-Onger, they can do the spinny wheel thing that the suits can do, except Go-Onger never does that. It's an RPM only thing. Also, in the Carranger (the Turbo Power Rangers) tribute, they turned into the similarly themed _Turborangers_ by mistake. Gokaiger cared about Power Rangers more than Megaforce did
That is just sad for Megaforce fans but kinda neat that Gokaiger gave a nod to Power Rangers (Turbo). Ain't the first or last but it is kinda cool.

I always thought the footage of the Mighty Morphin suits getting beat up was a bit of tongue in cheek from the sentai producers too. Like, oh these are your precious rangers? Well you're only gonna see them suck lol

Worker: "I suppose, but with the new specifications if anyone tries to fight back at all they'll go through them like a knife through butter. I mean with these new specs some punk with a rock and a slingshot could bring one down!"
Overseer: "Maybe, but here's the clever bit: no-one's gonna try. Either there's too many for anyone sane to think they stand a chance and they surrender, or they assume that they've got normal armour and weapons loadouts for a ship this size and waste a ton more firepower than they need to on it, leaving them open to getting swarmed."

I literally watched Goseiger and Gokaiger before MegaForce premiered...also watched 199...just to get ready and excited for MegaForce...but then got this shit for 2 seasons...

I worked as a camp counselor where the group of 9/10 year old kids I took care of had watched mega force, and EVEN THEY constantly questioned why they didn’t just use “super mega mode” as the regular morph.

About the tribute episodes... Wanna know something sad? Gokaiger wasn't originally going to do as many tribute episodes as they did, what changed? Both fans and actors scrambled all over the internet, even setting up social media pages to track down as many previous actors as possible.
Then the actors who couldn't make it (the ones that use the Sentai suits that are seen fighting against Levira's counterpart) actually managed to film a quick segment with the Gokaigers, basically the production team and the fans did everything in their power to make their 35th anniversary season as good as it could possibly be...
That by contrast the production team of Megaforce couldn't be arsed to lift a finger to locate previous actors to give the few tribute episodes they did some semblance of substance is... Well... Both sad and insulting...
So accurate this is why Gokaiger is so amazing (also the characters are awesome )
Well all those tribute episodes happened because the 2011 earthquake made everyone want to gather together to make the country fee bettwr

Yeah that's the saddest thing. In gokaiger, there were ALL of these actors who were so eager to be a part of this anniversary out of sheer love. In super megaforce, there were several actors who wanted to come back, but like Linkara said, the offers were VERY last minute and the payment wasnt enough, which is terrible.
It's very unfortunate that Super sentai made a season that was basically perfect for a power ranger anniversary (minus specific tribute episodes with a lot of Showa changes), but the people working behind it, i.e. Tzachor, just didn't care about what they were doing
and the last episode was soo cool, watching previous actors on social media (mostly twitter) acting like they received their ranger keys back from the gokaigers was epic :D .
Jungle Fury’s tribute is better than this whole Megaforce season in a nut shell.

It's like the Borg. They adapted so change your phaser frequency. That would've been amazing.

The Samurai Teamup problem could be solved with a bit of dialogue:
"My team were raised to destroy Master Xandred... and we succeeded. We won, and we weren't really prepared to move on and find something else. My friends and I are learning how to be something other than Samurai... and it's hard. We have been keeping an eye on you, and as long as you've got the Armada in hand... I don't want to risk my friends forgetting what we've learned."
"But... I couldn't just leave Rangers to fight for Earth without doing anything to help. That's why I came alone... to give you this."
Then you have him hand over the Power Disk, stand up to leave, and add, "But... if you need us... we'll be there."
But that would be world-building about the Samurai team, acknowledging that they didn't have a choice but to be heroes and the difficulties one can have when they succeed at what they've trained their entire lives to do. The Samurai Rangers peaked at what they'd been trained from infancy to do, and it's downhill from there. Jaden is light on characterization... but caring about his friends is a foundational part of his character. Worrying that they will get stuck in a cycle of seeking the next villain to slay if they don't stop and learn to be people would be a good reason for them to be sitting out, especially since the Megaforce Rangers have the problem under control.

Just another outstanding piece of writing this season.
Listen, we could handle a computer virus who killed billions and basically took over the world, but a car pushing 70 is too much for us to handle.

Not to mention that throwing her daggers was one of Trini's favourite tactics or that Jason defeated evil Tommy by throwing his sword at him.
Honestly at this point I prefer to hear the fan rewrites of Samurai and Megaforce because it just shows how many wasted opportunities there are when you take a 20 year old franchise and boil it down to the basics like this.
Samurai was... average. But miles better than MEGAForce.

If the fans rewrite the show please have a team up and new powers for the old rangers and explain them and he'll have the old rangers point out the flaws in the megaforce team members and even have the team use their advice to grow over other seasons AND THEN have gosei grant them a power they deserve for their character growth and have Orion team up with a bunch of sixth rangers or the two versions of Tommy from different versions of time and make the Tommy's turn evil from armada control and have Orion mainly take them in while the evil Tommy's have drained and captured the other rangers while also the armada teaming up with zedd and Rita from the time portal that the Tommy's came from and then have them use the rangers powers to create an evil mighty Morphin team and when Orion beats the Tommy's they save the rangers and they fight the mighty Morphin team and then finally Orion gains a power of his own or gets a zords from the Tommy's
And it also shows how much they literally care about the History of Power Rangers.
Honestly, if I was in charge I would have held off on Gokaiger adaptation to happen after a second season of Megaforce.
Yeah, it wouldn't be an anniversary series, but it wouldn't be the first time they did a legacy season not in an anniversary year.

Having just watched Gokaiger, it is funny that every episode he says feels like a rushed two parter was a two parter in Gokaiger.
The rant on the constantly getting new zords, powers, etc is spot on. And to think the cartoons from the 80s were the ones referred to as to as " 30 minute toy commercials "
The thing is, Lightspeed Rescue did have a tribute in Gokaiger. They could have used footage from that in Super Megaforce. Heck, most of the post-Mighty Morphin' seasons (or the Sentai equivalents, rather) have tributes, they could've had a whole season of tribute episodes.

No they can't, Nickelodeon only limits them to 20 episodes per season and Super Megaforce is the 21st season. For them to be able to do tribute to all the PR team they had to cram at least two or three tribute onto one episode which they likely can't.
@@VOAN Remember, Mighty Morphin' had three seasons, Samurai had two, and Super Megaforce was the second season of Megaforce. So Super Megaforce was the 21st season, but not the 21st team; by my count, including Alien Rangers, there were 17 teams before Megaforce came. Enough for them to do a tribute for every team and still have three episodes left over for the first episode and a two-part finale.

Orion is still a really weird character to me. Gai in Gokaiger was energetic & a Sentai fan, so he was all over the place & would geek out when the other rangers did something he recognized, while Orion is here to avenge his family & world. They don't mesh well.

I mean there’s a contrast in body language I can appreciate if it’s done well, but no he’s played pretty straight a lot of the time. Which definitely made that one helmetless shot with the pose a little awkward.

The more I think about Orion's introduction, I keep feeling like it was a huge missed opportunity to make him extremely cynical towards gosei or the rangers. And then, progress him into what hes like during the actual intro episode.
But I forgot, this is the series that seems to not want to do cool things like character progression because "kids can't comprehend that!"

I would recommend HunterKiller's video series How to Fix Megaforce to showcase how this show could have been SOOOOOOO much better. Among the ideas being Jake seemingly dying and disappearing toward the end of the first season, Orion coming in as the Red ranger and Troy becoming the blue ranger with the new pirate powers and Noah being the Green Ranger, and Jake coming back as the Silver Ranger.
No, what kids actually want are the Rangers unlocking new Zords and powers every 5 minutes for some BS reason or sometimes, no reason at all, because kids also can't comprehend consistency in TV shows.
What's funny is that Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills did something similar with a character named Rick (but who's power is, funny enough, Orion). He was a Galactic Sentinel (what they're actually called in-universe) from another world who lost his entire team and is hostile and resentful to Nimbar for the loss of his friends and his world.
They could also use Orion hearing the sixth rangers as a team up with people who feel what he feels like Tommy as he lost his powers and his friends we're in distress or Eric since he was poor and had to fight for the things he had and have them teach him to cope with that loss and finally have gosei give Orion a zord or new power he deserves for his growth
Now that season 2s over I now have enough evidence to back this statement *BEAST MORPHERS WAS A BETTER ANNIVERSARY THAN SUPER MEGAFORCE* and heres the funny thing *it wasn't an anniversary season in the first place and it still paid more homages in one season than Megashit did in its entire run time*

while I totally agree with your opinion but still i wish beast morphers had team-up with megafroce, I mean we do have the footage and that would atleast give the poor megaforce cast to get some good writing,a chance to shine and potential morph ups into past rangers teams just to make up for the crap they endured by the hands of a certain Jonathan Tzachor.

My logic about the super speed disappearing was that on his own, he taps into the morphing grid more then usual as he has no back up, so needs the extra speed to keep him safe. when he finally unites with the team it harmonises with the rest of the rangers morphers, which slowing him down by a bit, he speeds up the other rangers to a similar level, which is why the fights are easiee
The Octaroo thing from Goseiger vs Shinkenger also appeared in a Timeranger tribute episode, where the Gokaiger went back in time to save a temple that would've been destroyed by a seperate Nighlock troop that had the bottle that contained Ninjor. It also expanded Timeranger's story by reintroducing Time Yellow's girlfriend and their son but that's neither here nor there.
That episode almost made me cry. Poor Domon. 😔
Quite late, but that episode also explained their cameo on the movie, which fit nicely.

-GEE! is almost, ALMOST like Vrak is Back was supposed to be the GoseiForce season finale that leads up to the GokaiForce half of the show which would actually have bridged the gap & explained why they had to switch to the Legendary forms!
Y'know what the worst part of Troy's part in the Jungle Fury episode is? I can fix it with ONE line of dialogue:
"I'm really sorry I came down on you guys before. It's just that, every time it looks like we might not make it out okay...I think of Robo Knight. I just don't wanna lose anyone else."
Mind you it doesn’t make that much sense when in Megaforce they relied LESS on their weapons. But hey. You put more thought into it then Tzachor did, I hope the idiot hasn’t touched ANY series of any kind since Super Megafarce

Hey James W. Bates wrote Vrak Is Back. No wonder Lewis kinda liked it. After all based on his interview with Den Of Geek James wanted to make the kind of anniversary series we wanted and Tzachor kept rejecting his ideas for being boring. His ideas basically being the struggles of being a teenager and a Power Ranger, fleshing out the characters more etc.
Seriously how do you run a show of any kind let alone an anniversary season, look at things like characters, backstories, motivation, any kind of complexity and go
“Pfft screw that, good guys shoot bad guys, good guys win that’s it!”

I would understand why Tzachor would think kids nowadays wouldn't be interested in the struggles of being a teenager and a ranger stories, but they're kids, they don't know anything yet until they reach their teenage years about the struggles of growing up in the modern world. Emma could've had a story of what happened to her mother if she died or not, Noah would've had a story of having social anxiety and hangs around with Jake, Gia could've had a story about having divorced parents, Jake could've had a story about feeling alone, and Troy could've had anything

As RPM was my favorite season of PR, I was positively outraged at the utter travesty of its tribute episode. Freaking Samurai did a better tribute to RPM than Super Megafarce!
The return of Vrak was not too bad. Vrak’s my third favorite Neo Saban villain after Sledge and Heckyl because there was some attempt to make him close to a master manipulator.

They could've had the rangers go into the rpm dimension and find the old rpm rangers kindnapped with communication and ranger powers being cut off from gosei and the Morphing grid so they creatively fight a venjix monster and when they're just about to be defeated they persevere and with good merit they get their ranger powers back and save the rpm rangers with those rangers giving them a deserved weapon or power that they had to the super mega rangers and they save the day and they go back home with a deserved power and interacting with the rpm rangers and he'll having them explain things gosei didn't of all people didn't explain

Well the fact that they use the Mighty Morphin suits in the 5th episode and get tossed around is purely because of the Sentai footage and the fact that there Zyuranger is the 16th Sentai rather than the first. Himtsu Sentai Goranger is considered the first Sentai season and Toei made sure that this team in particular is protected by all means and the Gokaigers were not diadvantaged in any way, shape or form while using the Goranger's powers. That's how Toei cared about the team that started it all.
I saw a fan-video, where in the first episode; the MMPR team was the first team, that Super Megaforce rangers transformed.
The Jungle Fury themed episode is pretty much the only passable episode of Super Megaforce.
In the cross over of goseiger and shinkenger ,the gokaiger briefly appeared as to appeal to fans to show whats next.
But it was canonised in the gokaiger series when they were asked by timerangers to timetravel to the crossover time to rescue ninjorg.
Thats FOUR tribute in one episode.

The Sentai version (Gokaiger) is a masterpiece especially compared to this mess
I watched a few episodes of Megaforce and Super Megaforce on Nickalodeon years ago,
and each time I was bored out of my mind watching an episode.
I then watched Linkara's HOPR videos, and understood why I was so bored.
So yeah, You're not missing anything with the Power Rangers counterpart.
How could Noah study SPD footage if that team is supposed to be from the future? If he were in the Gosei cave, sure, I can suspend my disbelief. But he was in a SCHOOL COMPUTER LAB.
Morphin' grid, Tenzou gave them a flash drive or something. But no one except a few who cared seemed to squeeze that in.

Mainly because(as you said) all rangers are connected to the morphing grid. You don't need to tell us that!
The "Dino Fury Key, Activate" part is fine though.
Why didn’t they just adapt Shinkenger vs Goesiger, since the Megaforce powers still exist and the Gokaiger make a cameo there so it would have been perfect.

The pilot in the blue uniform flew the red lion in Voltron. With few exceptions that is.
The annoying thing about the RPM episode is that the subplot of chasing a car makes more sense in Gokaiger. The premise was similar. The pirates were stuck in a past time loop and needing to find way back to the present. That giant race car is actually the son of Go-on Red's and Yellow's car partners. Just roll with it. The subplot centered on how he was being rebellious and acting back with his parents. It was revealed later that the car's son was jealous of the fact that his parents got to go on different adventures. Marvelous struck a deal for both sides.
And yep, the screaming at the car was in Gokaiger too.

wait, is this implying the go-onger are able to have kids? if so what would a child between carrigator(both go-on black and go-on green) and burca(go-on greens partner) look like? a submarine carrier?

In our creative minds, that IS what's happening.
Honestly, during the 1st invasion they should have atleast done something like this:
General: Prince Vekar! The rangers have destroyed all of our ships!
Vekar: No matter! We have deployed thousand ships and troops all over the rest of the planet, they cant defend that litte piece of land forever
General: Uhm sir, the thing is all of our forces have been destroyed
Vekar:WHAT! HOW! WHEN!
General: We dont know sir, we lost contact with them very suddenly. We didnt have time to identify the threat!
Boom, that way you can imply that the rest ranger teams were actually doing stuff during the invasion pluss you dont even have to spend more money to show the other zords and more importantly you dont make the MF rangers look so overpowered

The reason the White Dino Ranger is a "Sixth" Ranger and not the White Rhino is mostly because Abarekiller, White Dino's counterpart, only joins at the end of the show. As for Robo Knight? Uh. Ask the Goseiger writers.
The actual answer is probably something about where these Rangers/heroes get their powers from. Gosei Knight therefore, gets his powers from the same source as the Goseigers, but the Sentinel Knight is just a sword that becomes a hero.

There was a theory that the rpm episode Corinth was not Corinth it was infact one of venjix fortresses and the falconzord was trapped by him trying to create his version of the rpm powers or get into the morphingrid and finish off humanity would have been a better explanation tbh imo anyways.

You know, the shame about the villains in Megaforce is they had an opportunity to show how menacing they were. Between Vekar getting a megazord and the team's first ranger forms getting a power up like Vrak during the eclipse, they could have established that all this, their powers, those zords, were all related to Power Rangers from the villains' world. The empire could have defeated their rangers, taken their powers and equipment, but some of them could have made it to Earth, going to the Rangers here and making the connections stronger, more personal.
Agree to disagree on Overdrive being worse than SMF, though the reasons I find the former to be the lesser evil?:
1. Even if Overdrive failed to be a good season, there was still effort in making a good product even if failed, plus making it good on it's own merit where MF/SMF clearly tried to coast through purely on fan service that wasn't even given effort either.
2. As the worst of the Disney era it's still far from being a trainwreck considering that the holder of the rights didn't even care about PR and honest about it. Between working to regain the rights, snubbing and snubbing on the Disney Era (through wanting to possibly decanonize it prior to doing Clash of the Red Rangers or not representing the teams in SMF), you'd think Saban had some pride towards PR and that an anniversary season under their care would still be above average.
Heck despite being more lowkey than Gokaiger, Dino Thunder is the minimum of how a tribute series could still be great. It works entirely on it's own merit (proven especially during the time that Tommy's appearance is lessened) and the fan service we get (clip show history, a love letter to the Sentai and an actual team up where the returning Rangers get some time to shine).
3. Heck, even with Disney's honest lack of concern some effort was made for Once a Ranger with the guest stars having more time to do stuff and even mixing in four of the older theme songs for a bit of recent nostalgia. Plus while I'm still a Tommy fan and recognize his contribution to the early years, trying to dismiss other older favorites is uncool. Once a Ranger in contrast even with Adam giving a good deal of importance doesn't take come at the expense of Tori, Kira, Bridge and Xander. And even if it was due to behind the scenes drama, I still like Bridge becoming a Red Ranger and his explanation as to how that happened.
But yeah, even the worst of the Disney Era despite their lack of investment in the series still came out better than the era where the original company acted like they cared about the franchise beyond it's money making potential.

Same here. At least Disney even with Overdive, they put in more effort in every new season they were involved in production wise then both MegaForce seasons combined.
Honestly, it's sad when one bad PR season, can make another bad season look great by comparison.

Time works differently in Power Rangers so it's possible that Max despite being the youngest of the Wild Force Rangers could had an child by that point.

I love it when the silver ranger was introduced they were building it up as someone we knew but it was like with Zeo when the gold ranger was introduced it turned out to be nobody we know until he says who he is and what his backstory is before joining the team.

It's also inaccurate. The murder happened AFTER Megaforce was filmed and aired. Ricardo Medina apparently said he was offered a chance to return, but decided not to because he didn't want to confuse little kids who had seen him in Samurai.

I guess the reason for the White Dino Thunder Ranger being a Sixth Ranger is, his Sentai equivalent joined the team not just later than Trent did, but somewhere in the last fifth. They couldn't have made him a part of the main team like the Rhino Ranger, but I guess they also didn't want to relegate him to "extra hero" (read: also existed) like they did with the Blue Senturion or Sentinel Knight or the female Red Samurai Ranger.
The whole Rhino Ranger not being a Sixth is complete Bullshit. I can understand why his Sentai counterpart, Gekichopper, doesn't count as one, but that was for Sentai only. Power Rangers has different ways of doing things, and all the reasons that apply to Gekichopper don't apply for the Rhino Ranger. But of course, Tzachor couldn't be bothered to look into that so we got what we got.

@@inconemay1441 Ok, so it's more or less a mixture on why Abarekiller can count as a Sixth but not Gekichopper.
AbareKiller, or Mikoto, was incredibly unique from many other Sentai Rangers, unlike his PR counterpart Trent who was mind-controlled by his gem, Mikoto was naturally evil from his first appearance in episode 17 until around episode 40 where he left. So for a majority for the series, he was against the main 4 Abarangers. He then returns in episode 46 and joins the team...for about 2 episodes and dies. So in the end, he was hardly a team member. Classifying him as a Sixth was probably the best for him, because he doesn't really fit into any other catagory. He's too unique to be a Core Ranger, he redeems himself at the end of the series, so he can't really be an Evil Ranger. He could pass off as a Bangai, but he has too much relevance in the series unlike other Bangai's. So all in all, Sixth was probably best for him.
Now in Gekiranger, Gekichopper, or Ken, was always intended to join the team as one of their main members, however he was sent of to find himself. So already we have something that makes him feel more like a Core Ranger. When he appears again 10 years later, Gekiviolet, or Gou, had recently joined the team. Now unlike Ken, Gou never intended to join the team and was just a coincidence. So all in all, Gekichopper's technically the 4th member of the team while Gekiviolet is the 5th, but because Ken was late and joined after the Gekiviolet arc, Gou's the 4th. Something else to note is that Ken has the same Henshin device/Morpher as the Main 3, the Gekichangers, but because his were busted, he needs the Saiblade to help him.
So all in all, Ken feels more like a Core Ranger than a Sixth, unlike Dominic who does feel like a Sixth Ranger.

While Saban did respond to the complaints by relieving Tzachor from his duties, the nostalgic mandate was still his doing. Only for that to thankfully die a well earned death the moment he sold the franchise (and all of the Saban Entertainment library) to Hasbro* in February 2018. Not helped that said MMPR nostalgia mandate (which even with out Becca Barnes and Alwyn Dale ever hired on still had to be write poorly to mirror what we've got pre 1994-95 season to 2009) plus Bandai's US branch halfassing their toys managed to bring more harm than good for both Dino Charge and finally Ninja Steel (though its source material proved to be way worse)

Haim Saban kept trying to recapture a era when the show was popular but times chanced since he got the rights back in 2010. Saturday morning programming long dead, Obama in the White House, Batmania Mk3 (the Nolan Trilogy) and the slow formation of the MCU in the wake of Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk. But while pushing for that replication of the past, the show suffered and what potential each entry had was squandered and botched.

The most anoying thing to me: we have been back to rpm twice, not once did we adress that minor issue of: the main world ending villian is still alive and needs to be stopped!
And its not hard to do with what they had: say venjix was in the runaway zord and they have to stop him before he gets somewhere he can upload himself and get free. Boom simple, but no they dont do that.

Here's a great idea on how to prevent insanely high spending due to having to fly in all the actors that were from the first 10 seasons, have them do a voiceover, and allow them to appear in costume but not in person, so you still have the rangers together just not the physical actors which you would have to fly in. Now this may be harder to do than I'm describing but it was SOMETHING THEY COULD DO, that wasn't just not pay tribute to most of the seasons and have the Wild Force rangers just not appear IN THEIR OWN RIBUTE EPISODE.
Even on my 100th watch of this review, the line: 'a ranger must never let go of his weapon', still makes me burst out laughing.

Except that this is a show that produces TOYS and while story is important, so is marketing even though too much of it is the problem when you're telling a story for a show that has proven to be both good when they're serious as well as well as being a show about promoting toys like with the Shark Cycles mixed with the "Kimberly leaves us" story arc.

The hardest thing for this season to me is in the pirate sentai had the green ranger as a goof and the blue be a serious swordsman. So the flip between Noah in megaforce he was the goof and Jake in megaforce he was the serious jock. Just felt like they should have flip their colors in super mode and could of been an interesting bonding moment.
And Orion playing the character who was the fan boy who got his powers by dumb luck and for his passion for the sentai characters. Which explains the constant homage of the 6th rangers with him and all his power ups.
And the two pointless villains played a major role in the sentai because the prince was not a fighter and one even was a rival of the blue ranger which would of been an amazing story.
I really wish they just used a different team.

It's simple:
Have the Armada win Season 1. Vrak escapes and becomes Ackdos Gill when we see him again in Season 2.
The Megaforce powers are destroyed, Jake goes missing, Robo Knight is captured and becomes Argus, and Gosei gets captured.
Then introduce Orion as Pirate Red. Troy becomes Blue and Noah becomes Green.
See, that simple.

About the jungle fury episode. Yeah in Gokaiger, the whole a Ranger never loses his weapon, it was, as to be expected not a thing, it was just a forced, stupid and idiotic thing made by Megaforce. Instead it was about Don's and Ahim's trying to get stronger and confident and Marvelous never made a fuss out of it and when it was over, just went back to try finding the great power for Gekiranger.
2:20 the footage you show in that part is actually original footage, which is just... odd.
Why they did a proper original fight scene for Wild Force, but not for a season that doesn't have a proper fight showing off their powers like Lightspeed Rescue, and also take the time to include the Titanium Ranger in that footage?
I think someone on the production really loved Wild Force.
I may be wrong but it's been explained that when a ranger is on there own there connection to the morphin grid is enhanced but limited, they can't access all there abilities but in exchange have a greater draw of what they can use, it also explains the lack of multiple teams at once

I realized a couple days ago that what they PROBABLY wanted to do with the whole "where is Robo Knight" thing was to emulate the Andros searching for Karone thing (villain takes good person connected to the heroes and brainwashes). It clearly failed since they pretty much never address the search for Robo Knight here, but it could have been what the writers wanted. And one way or another, it could have been a really good way to do it.

The Gold mode made more sense in the Sentai as Gai was a Super Sentai super fan.
I just realized something: Troy saying a Ranger must "never let go of their weapons" is especially weird, because he's THE most well-trained of the group when it comes to martial arts and hand-to-hand. That's not only out of character, it makes him look like a hypocrite.
You wanna know what's the thing that makes that writing for Troy specially moronic? It's to justify what the Sentai footage would do later, to mess with the monster, the Gokaigers just don't let go of their weapons and end up hitting the monster pretty hard, all while mocking it for trying the same tactic twice, it was just common sense.
Here? Somehow the writers decided to try and use this to make it seem like Troy is being some kind of strategist leader, when instead he just looks like a whinny idiot out of nowhere.
Honestly I would be ok with Orion having a fun and goofy personality despite his dark backstory. If Tokusatsu has taught me anything, every single happy and upbeat person is actually super depressed and is just using their upbeat personality as a facade.
They could've easily solved the Q-Rex problem by saying that since the original Q-Rex was destroyed, Time Force would later build a new and improved version, the 'Q-Rex Mark 2' or something.
