I actually love Clara's portrait and wish her in-game model looked more simillar to it. I love her big eyes and slight tooth gap, her face just screams "child miracle worker who's seen some shit". I agree with most of the rankings, especially oyun, wtf happened, his ingame face is a literal square. Also, Daniil's portrait looks like Gerard way or some other emo front singer, when I was watching my very first pathologic video it was about the bachelor's route, so his actual model was rarely visible and I genuinely thought that he had longer hair/a mullet bc I couldn't make out where his hair ended and the background started jkjasja
I love Clara's portrait sooo much, she looks so whimsical but also confused and energetic. I love the earrings and the beanie that might be a veil? It makes her look more shamanic. Also the model in the pic is just really pretty
I agree so much! Don't know people didn't like the portrait, but IMO it's really fitting for her character. It's that perfect archetypal look. I've actually met people that look and act like that.
Honestly I really adore the inconsistency of the photos! Reminds of how, invetibely, when a play is performed- it will not look/be exactly what it's writers envisioned or had in mind; When a play is not only written, but performed- The director will make their own changes and edits to the overall execution of the play.
Strongly disagree on the Stamatwins, they ARE scary and fucked up, and generally the portraits add a bit of depth to the perceived vibe (like you look at Khan and see those Kain-esque crooked eyebrows and intense gaze and think oh. he’s not Just Some Guy) That said, it was a fun watch and even if we don’t agree on everything, i loved looking at them put against each other and you express your thoughts in a fun and concise way
I'm sorry but Mark Immortal's portrait is supposed to be that unhinged. If you rate it lower than a 9 you just don't get what they were going for. Very Joker-esk, he knows he has to entertain everyone and deliver a smile while doing so. Every playthrough for me in pathologic 2 him never being infected throws me for a loop like he is up to something... that damn smile. If you are not delivering a perfect performance you know he'll be gleeful. He'll be dancing on a corpse like a musical and still not dying, you know he's doing something but you can't prove it.
Perfect! I burst out laughing on Aglaya's "scary but in a fun way" I think Sticky in his portrait is trying to look tough (and failing) and that's why he doesn't have the goofy grin. Someone asked to take his picture and he tried his best.
Aspitys portrait really doesnt reflect anything abt her character, she looks great in P2 tho But honestly as much as i love her look in patho2 i have issues w her writing cuz they made her that wise and old mentor type even for Daniil in Marble nest where she guides him spiriturally and stuff when in Patho1 shes like "ill tell you how to get to the abbatoir if you promise to kick the bucket there", basically calling daniil a cumbrain, saying that "kains need to kill themselves, NOW" plus calling lara a bitch and wanting to rip her apart for no discernible reason... i miss her evil and mean side I REALLY hope we get it in bachelor route shes so bland in p2
@@KOTEBANAROTi agree somewhat but i think it’s a mild stretch to say that she’s JUST the wise and old mentor in pathologic 2; i would say she’s still got a bit of that snark to her. the fact that she clearly knows what urdurgh means and basically just says “figure it out yourself loser” to artemy is great and she has a ton of good moments like that. i would only really say marble nest aspity is mischaracterized. p1 aspity feels like a mildly chaotic earth spirit and p2 feels like an earth golem who’s sick of people’s shit if you get what i mean. still prefer her in 1 but i like what they did with her in 2 aswell!!!
0:45 the model is so creepy and terrifying, nowadays the graphics would be realistic like on the right, it wouldnt be near as good (btw the hair would require a lot more polygons to be like you described, to run on Geforce 2 they did a great job) 1:28 same here, hardware/budget at the time would not allow such hair

Vulture in the game looks like a fierce leader of a large criminal group conducting major operations, in his thirties or even forties, with red eyes as if from constant drunkenness and drugs and a face as if he is shell-shocked for life, after torture. His portrait is a young cheerful criminal, the leader of a small gang of punks engaged in petty fraud, hooliganism and vandalism, he is dexterous, cheerful, gambling, zealous, negligent in crimes and likes to joke his jokes from harmless to ultra cruel, defiant, he has his whole career ahead. And yes, too, if you want to scare me, use the statue of Mark with his portrait.

yoo I just finished first Pathologic 2 playthrough and tbh I didn't connect with or care about any of the characters besides Sticky, hanging in my lair. Most the rest died and I didn't care. Seeing the classic models and portraits really brought a lot of them to life. In 2, a lot of people just look the same, or just crazed and uncanny.
Is your UA-cam profile the original Capella portrait? It's cute! And I think the 3D models are actually based on the portraits rather than the other way around; I think the latter would be difficult.
I realized that the assumption here is that they're hand-drawn, realistic portraits, but I get the impression they're photographs of IRL people (maybe models)?
