So profound...As a north Floridian i was always taught the south was a cruel, racist, and wicked place of backwards people but the more i study i find that i was taken away from being empowered by my own southern heritage.
I'm from Savannah Georgia I was raised to be proud of my Confederate ancestors Who fought with Robert Lee and was at the surrender at Appomattox when all the fainted hearted had packed up and left. The confederate army was full of brave and honorable men. I ain't never going to let no Yankee politicians or freeman bureau affect my thinking or beliefs. I fly a confederate flag and a American flag in my yard. The confederate flag is flown to honor the confederate dead in my family . The flag is a symbol of honor and sacrifice.

Yes - you are referring to my Richards ancestor. His parents were one of the first 9 families to settle In the NW area of Missouri annexed after the Native Americans were moved across the MO river. They migrated from Virginia. Little Dixie was just south of that area and you know how split it was. So he joined up with the Confederates but when caught was either made or freely joined with the Union for a short time before being mustered out. I have always wondered if he was killed after the War as many were.
When I was 20 and working for the State of Kentucky. Myself and another man were given the task of going to the C&O Railroad Headquarters at Huntington, West Virginia for office work. We were to be there for a week and I had been issued a State carpool vehicle for the trip. My Dad drove me to the carpool. As I got out of the car, he said "Be careful! West Verginny is Yankee territory!"

All the new facts are well backed with Court and other records to prove that the James/Younger gang made their escape from the Huntington robbery by "Hunting for themselves!"
