Owning ❤in another country is a great adventure. You'll find new friends that share the same experiences. I've been an ex-pat in Asia for 17 years so buying in Italy is exciting but not brand knew. Wife and I know what we are expectations are...live, travel, learn, explore and embrace the history, have fun in all of it. Congrats and best wishes, Mike !
Ah, yes, the infamous Boaty McBoatface incident... bottom line, don't give the internet too much rope 🤣 Congratulations on your purchase, I'm so excited to see the renovations to come.
Mike congratulations. I am so happy for you. I’m glad I found your channel. I’m really enjoying watching your journey. Can’t wait to see what you do with your place. Interesting to see how long it’ll take for you to decide for a permanent move once you taste La Dolce Vita sincerely congratulations
Congratulations Mike! Thanks for sharing your adventure and the gorgeous Piedmonte vineyard. I will be visiting Piedmonte for the first time in Spring. Can't wait.
Congratulations to you! The amazing view from the incredible roof terrace is getting closer ❤ I hope you’ll mix antiques with modern furniture and maybe have some bare stone showing. Make it special ❤
This is amazing. The light there is incredible. As an artist, I was looking at the lush colors of the vineyard and landscape behind you that look as perfect as a painting. It's inspiring me to continue with my own journey to Italy or France, depending on the visa process. Following your adventures with interest!
Hi Mike, I love your videos just because I find you so refreshing honest. I could feel your stress also. We are in the process of buying a house in Italy too, in Brindisi (Ostuni). But I'm stressing out too. 😂
Sorry Mike, I had to write another comment 🤣🤣 you know my field, security, and I’d have to say you are correct about wire transfers! I can see why you were stressed!
I'm so excited for you! 🎉. Only buy what you have to have now. You will probably find great treasures in the local markets! Once you get to know locals, you might be able to find some amazing local craftsmen. Are you getting a temporary residency?

It must have been gratifying for you to meet the german couple who couldn't believe what you got for your money in Piemonte! Your decision was reinforced. Having bought a place in Abruzzo, I can say it is stressful after you sign that contract and then the adrenalin rush settles down. The wire transfers ARE freaky! I am a retired IT person so I get where you are coming from. But it will be done and you can then enjoy the fun part.
Yes, bank transfers are still a crazy thing where banks also want to have their share. And before you had to pay transfer fees if you wanted to have it on the beneficiaries account immediately, even though they promised immediate payment when implementing Iban and swift code! Now they just cut these expenses by law, about 2 weeks ago. Even I am nervous about my upcoming transfer to the notary account in Italy, although I am from Austria. I know the feeling when you hit that button and 100.000 are down to ZERO🥵😱😬
Congrats on the house. I'm curious while you are gone, do you have arrangements for a person to come by like once a week to check on the house or do you think that isn't going to be needed?

Congratulations Mike! It's been a great ride touring houses. Now comes the fun part. Your apartment doesn't need major surgery.
I‘m sitting on my terrace on the Gargano while listening to you. Cross my fingers for you tomorrow 🍀🍀🍀
Congratulations! We closed this week as well!
Congratulations, Italian homeowner! Love that time-lapse, by the way, just stunning.
