The condor Hudson bay is a fantastic big blade easy to sharpen and a great tool. I did a similar thing with my one. I use hockey tape. Durable and I have found doesn't need to be reapplied.
Yes, it is a great knife, I've had mine for years and have really only used it to butcher game, as in cutting up a cleaned and skinned carcass. I also have the Mini Hudson bay, and between the two, I can pretty much take care of all camp and kitchen tasks.
I know this is a older video. I’m wondering how is the edge retention now? I’ve heard very questionable things about condor. What’s your opinion on their quality after 2 years. I’m debating on a condor or a Ontario. Regardless of which one I’m left handed so I’ll need a sheath. So condor leather doesn’t matter. Just I see videos on UA-cam yet nobody stays with condor they just market them. My hard use knife right now is a mora Garberg. I’d just like to get a chopper but I don’t want to heavy or big. I want something I’ll actually use. Maybe I’ll just get a 12 inch Ontario machete.
Thanks for all your great comments SYTP! I have many condors and love the designs but they can have quality flaws. Customer service is good though so overall I can recommend. Edge retention has been good. I also like Ontario. I would go with a design you like and give it a try.
I've had one for several years and, like you said, it's a good big knife and well suited to doing "big knife" stuff. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Thanks John!

That's a good idea Rick.

What size is the ranger wrap thanks
I don't remember Jerry but if I had to guess it was from a 26" mountain bike tire. Thanks for watching!
Any opinions on how to use a lanyard on this knife?
Nutnfancy drilled a hole. You could Also do a simple paracord wrap and leave a lanyard length.
@@CommonCentsOutdoorsman he didn't actually finished the hole.
@@Nick-lm5lz yeah I remember that now. May need a drill press and proper bit.
a miniature traditional machete.
