  • David aims to see if the Condor Woodbuster has what it takes to make a good camping or survival knife “one tool option” - To get one of your own, click this link: bit.ly/2Wue9Za
    BladeSports competition cleavers have to work well at fine detail as well as the heavier chopping tasks. The Woodbuster is competition legal, but we think it makes a great fixed blade tool for woodsmen too. We put this knife through its paces in our backwoods to prove it.

    My thoughts are to purchase a chopper instead of an axe for camping. Could you compare other choppers to this one and give your insights on the good and bad of each? Thanks.

    This knife is full convex with a secondary v grind bevel. Mine was as sharp as a bowling ball when I got it. Plan on spending time knocking that bevel off.

      Get a worksharp.. it belt sands a convex edge on a knife and is super easy and fast to use on a blade with a straight profile. That's why I bought this one actually.

    Interested in an Amalgam from Condor. No reviews really on utube or any forum (oddly).ANYONE have experience with Condor? Seems kinda low tech.Do they even heat treat? Steel is only 1075 and soft. Does Condor stuff roll/chip easy ( on a big chopper)
    ANY info would help A lot
    Short list : BK21 Becker ,Camp 10,Condor Amalgam..would get a Bark River but everything is sold out and will take 1 or more years for them to make something

    I like the style of this blade and I’m busy so I haven’t had time to watch the video so please forgive me if this was addressed in the video but how would you say this stacks up against the ESEE Junglas?I bought the Junglas a couple months ago and haven’t been able to use it all that much yet but so far,I think it’s pretty awesome..it was actually my first ESEE and since I bought it I liked it so much I also added the ESEE 4 and the ESEE Izula to my collection..I’m now planning on adding an ESEE 6 and ESEE 3 to my collection..I don’t own any Condor knives but I’ve heard great things and know they are certainly reasonably priced..2019 has been a weird year for me,I always loved knives and have carried them since I was a kid but I was never a collector by any means..just happened to own 3 or 4..I carried a $5-$6 cheap Schrade folder as an EDC knife for a good 15 years..I had a cheap Mora 511 and Gerber Prodigy for my outdoor gear bag..up until a few months ago I had never spent more than $50-$60 on a knife..I always wanted some of the higher end knives but was never able to talk myself into buying anything over $60..over the summer I was looking at knives on BladeHQ and the Bradford Guardian 4 really caught my eye and seared itself into my memory..I thought it just looked and sounded amazing from the reviews..I broke down and decided to buy one because I know it will last me a lifetime.I could use it everyday for the rest of my life and then hand down a great knife to my nephew.when my knife came in I was blown away by its quality and design.it was like a work of art.some people aren’t into finger choils but it was part of what drew me to it.it is so comfortable in my hand it feels like it was custom fitted just for my hand.after I got the knife it all made sense to me why people spend so much on knives..literally the very day I received my Guardian 4 I immediately ordered a Guardian 3..I’ve been hooked ever since buying atleast 1 knife a week since..last week I got a Boker Kalashnikov auto,a Gerber Tri Tip mini cleaver,a Cold Steel Recon Tanto and a Cold Steel SRK..I just can’t get enough,I’ve gained a new addiction..lol..every time I get on BladeHQ,Amazon,SMKW,etc I’m always finding new knives to add to my wishlist..the Boker Kalashnikov was my first auto and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality for such a cheap priced auto.I plan on ordering a Boker Strike auto in D2 and a Kershaw Launch 6(hopefully the Demascus version)..also would like to get a Buck 110 or 112 auto at some point too..lol

      3V on the Cold Steel vs 1075 on the Condor adds expense in materials and in manufacturing difficulty. -DCA

    who brok the tip of?

  • @ericdunthorne1981
    @ericdunthorne1981 4 роки тому

    I'd say the design choice for the tip offers less utility. A blade that size would make a great draw knife but... With the tip the way it is using it as a draw knife would be more uncomfortable than if it had a regular tip. Also with a regular tip batoning would be easier and the baton wouldn't get less damaged and last longer.

      thats because its not even designed for camping, ive seen a one star review that said it "handles like an axe" because thats what its designed for

    • @ericdunthorne1981
      @ericdunthorne1981 4 роки тому

      @@kevinmorrice I was just disputing that not having a tip ads utility. Most of my comment are examples of potential utility having a tip to the blade. So if you have examples countering my points that would be useful. I'm not sure what you want me to do with your comment. You argued a point I didn't make. There may be functionality for blade sports not having a tip. I don't see the utility.

    I like the video . Well done 👍🏻
    But I’m not a fan of this chopper .
    Why you ask ??
    I mean I never used it . So how the hell can I voice my opinion !?!? Sounds stupid , right ?
    But first impressions last a lifetime, and I can’t understand why it’s not a full complete blade .
    Did they really have to take a piece off the end of the blade ?
    Looks like it’s broke !
    That drives me crazy !
    Reminds me of a chipped front tooth and I would need to take it to the knife dentist haha .
    But great video nonetheless.
    Thank you for posting .🤠
