Wow, this guy is in the top 1% of the top 1% of product designers, coding and technical ability, material understand, combined with design skill really set this project part from most 'builds' on yt, I'd be surprised if samsung and apple aren't trying to hire this dude.
ya how is this guy not working for a major device manufacturer? Absolutely incredible amounts of talent and knowledge.
@@mwitters1 What makes you think he isnt already?
Wow, I got your gamepad video in recommendations and then just watched whole AR series in a row.
This is truly amazing, I really hope this channel will get what it truly deserves
Thanks!
bro literally the same with me
Same here
lol, me too... really cool videos
Same
This is so awesome. I want to build one so bad 😆
Ill take one in green 😊 lmao
Hey thanks! Big fan of your channel!
@@PyottDesign now i'm a big fan of yours! Lots of respect for the project!
Yooo sup Thrill
Ditto!
as somone who knows CAD and has worked on similar projects, the amount of time, measuring and offcamera frustration this mustive took is very real. As an aspiring industrial designer and vr enthusiest this is very inspiring.
agreed!
Same. I made electronics enclosures for an R&D team, and the amount of work it takes just to make sure parts fit together can be infuriating.
This guy is what we all want to be as designers and manufacturers. Amazing.
I love the approach of "meta won't let us access the passthrough feed so I just made my own" lol
dang i binged this entire series in one day, hella underated series
This is some of the best and only DIY engineering in the VR space and I am beyond impressed. You seriously are an impressive engineer and you made a beautifully finished and thought-out design.
Me too, I'm honestly astounded at not only the amount but the quality of skills this man possesses.
Project north star.
The infrared blew my mind. we are quickly gaining the ability to further evolve our species.
this is sick! love how hands on the VR community is with pushing the boundaries of what's possible
hes not in the VR community. the VR comunity likes to groom children
@@G-G._ Sir.
nowhere near the boundary
He re-shelled a quest... What boundary?
@@MrBorderdown talking about the skill and technology used by a single person to make something unique
Just got this on my recommendation, and wow… it got my attention. You should deserve more like and views.
Yes
Oh my god that looks absolutely amazing. I would love to see this sort of ingenuity used on the Bigscreen Beyond
My jaw was on the floor through this entire video. You are such an incredible well rounded industrial designer.
Like many others, came from the recommended gamepad video. Was surprised to see the how relatively new and small the channel was, quality stuff!
Subscribed and binged all of your videos since I found your fps gamepad video. The way you combine uncompromising function with good looking and actually usable design is so enjoyable to watch and it's insanely satisfying how it all comes together at the end
The level of detail and polish is amazing. Really enjoyed watching - excited to see more!
The design of this thing looks great -- I think it looks 10x better than any of the commercial designs. A lot of thought has gone into this! so dope
You're a one-man hardware development team, probably the best channel I've found in ages!
Bro accomplished what usually takes an entire team of engineers. Insanely impressive.
The build quality is immaculate. That IR view is cool and unique. All in all very impressive
That interface looks fantastic. Never let company trends convince you that minimalism is instantly better: The way I see it, the more capacity we have for neon tech greebling the more neon tech greebing there should be.
you are one fine engineer. every video you put out there is pure value. one day i will be able to do all those things you do.
I spend a lot of time researching new software tools, languages, development concepts, and new technology that is coming out, so that I can create my own unique tools. My experience has made me confident in many areas that I have researched, but by no means an expert. Seeing what you are able to do across so many different domains blows me away.
Gorgeous design! Really love how it's come together. My only critique might be trying a half-ball-and-socket design for attaching the audio drivers, so that you can adjust their orientation somewhat. Maybe a (ratcheting/torque-limiting) screw to tighten them after positioning, if static friction isn't enough.
also the weight distribution on the headset looks horrible as well as the headstrap itself looks like it would be painful to wear for more than 30 minutes
Just watched this whole series of videos in a day, this is so amazing and captivating. Can't wait for more!
Great project from ideation to production. Saw Ep10 first, then went straight to Ep1 to watch the whole series. Looking forward to your next vids.
Amazing project, Quality of your work blew me away
you really are a 1 man 'IRONMAN' for VR ! - the custom face scan and print is something the Pimax crystal could do right about now!!! I shall be watching your progression further as 'supreme VR being' from now on- congrats on what you have accomplished so far, it really is impressive.
As someone who has been working in the AR/VR Industry for more than 3 years, I must say, this is very impressive! Thumbs up!
- *shows an amazingly homemade innovative project that rivals the potential of giant corporations* -

My man you deserve 6 million subs with this kind of effort. Keep at it my dude!
That’s I’m thinking
@@Compyvr Bonkers what he has accomplished in 6 months compared to the investment Meta has made in this area...
Wow, extremely impressive. You’re very talented. Great job on the HMD as well as the video!
ok being able to see infrared rays or look at what a telescope is seeing is kinda a wild idea that i've never even thought could be a use case for ar
this is a lot more interesting than what i initially expected from this tech
This entire project was so well designed and it looks amazing
Great to see someone else do (better) on this concept than I did!
wow this is magnificent, very well done! so many stunningly refined solutions all over the place, from the software generated interface, tensioning system, component fitment, aesthetics and the insanely polished and functional AR interface. absolutely wonderful. i'm really excited to follow along and see more of your work.
1 genius man doing better than a team of hundreds in a multi-billion dollar company. Love to see it.
You hit the recommended page! Congrats on both the channel and the project success. Hope you go far
I am blown away by every aspect of this engineering project. This has really gotten me interested in AR and what it can be used for. I also have an unnatural obsession with cyberpunk xD. If you ever happen to start a patreon I would gladly support your future endeavors. Keep it up man!
this is CRAZY! I've seen other videos of this short, and they always seem to fall short on either looks, concept or actually functioning, but you've managed to make something that looks good, works well and is actually, like, buildable. Keep posting. . .
The amount of time it took to conceptualize, 3D model, and build this thing, and also make this absolutely fantastic video. Wow!
Amazing that you are able to deliver on so many fronts to such high degree of quality. Such a rich array of diverse and cross-functional skill sets. Looking forward to your next project.
Why is this guy single handedly pushing the VR space forward??? A team of engineers of one single man lol
Dude, you're an entire team in one man. You are really talented.
Dude this is incredible! I'm blown away you did all this in 6 MONTHS!!
I just came across this video and was blown away by what you made. Can't wait to see what you make in the future!
The UI and hardware are well done. Looking forward to seeing the overall progress.
Wow, the fact that one person could build such a device has blown my mind, really.
Everything about this is ultra satisfying to watch. What an amazing build!
Second video I've watched from this dude and I have no doubts he is a higher form of intelligent alien being that casually happens to be a gamer too.
Very impressive. Definitely a one man band of design skills. Good work.
what an insane project, really good explanations overall very interesting. keep up the good work. this is the first video I've seen of You but it already made me subscribe
Incredible work! I had to subscribe immediately, this is pushing some crazy boundaries!
amazing watching this assembly your on to something with the ar side of things i think i fell in love with the look of the creation well played thanks for the video keep up the good work
Beautiful work!! I love the integrations aspect! Well done!
That is very impressive. It looks like an actual commercial product.
You're a LEGEND man, I love this stuff, so much talent.
Your CAD skills are next level ! You earned a sub
This is awesome project and you made this very professionally well done .👏👏👏👏👏
Dude! This is awesome! Great work, especially love your ideas & take on the future of UI within AR, got me super inspired!
This was a fantastic project, loved how it turned out!
Kudos! Inspirational synergy of recently accesible desktop manufacturing technologies and considdered design refinement. Successful fulfillment of such a multifaceted project must be quite a buzz.
This is truly inspiring, I'm blown away!
The algorithm has blessed me. This is actually insane
The IR camera into a lens filter blew my mind. Incredible
Amazing series, thanks for taking the time to share this awesome project.
just binged ur entire channel :)
Amazing project very underrated channel
Really awesome design! Seeing a talented cross-disciplinary engineer work magic like this is like watching a pianist's fingers create music! Would love to see more details about the software!
Absolutely amazing work! Thank you for sharing!
1/ add padding to the para cords going over your head, for long term usages to be comfortable, and the cords wont stress the same area too much of your scalp.
2/ consider option to mount a counter balance at the end to offset the front load.
3/ have you considered industrial / military use for your product?
4/ your idea is the best i have seen soo far thank you for being a good model and inspiration.
God this is fucking beautiful dude, if this isn’t considered art I don’t care like this makes me feel how art is supposed to make you feel and I’m fucking inspired
I love the AR arm band that looks super cool!
Damn dude. that headset looks SICK i would daily use that thing alot, Its design is impressive. Good job!
Yes, this is very impressive. You should be very proud of urself. Meta needs to hire you.
this whole series was a joy to watch
you have some crazy set of skills. Very impressed
Everything about this is blowing my mind
I really love thr AR UI you created. This us fantastic, keep up the good work
Congrats on your viral success! Keep pushing the boundries!
wow dude this is amazing, congrats, this video deserves way more views.
My word this is impressive! Liked, subscribed, and now excited to explore the channel. Also, congrats on the project completion!
Glad UA-cam made me stumble on your content. really fun and well thought project.
Awesome to see the whole process! It came out great!
Interesting thoughts on the UI. Thanks for sharing.
Wow this build was pretty amazing, Bravo 👏
I don’t know who you are and I don’t know why UA-cam recommended me this video, but damn do I want one of these as well, you are a true craftsman
Wow this was such an incredible series! Definitely keep this up. your channel is going to explode! :D
This channel and project is completely underrated and amazing. You did a heck of a job man. I would love to see someone do something similar with custom base station tracked controllers. Basically convert a vive tracker into a custom SteamVR controller but optimized for specific games/uses, similar to what you did with this Quest 2
As debatable the design as impressive the engineering. Kudos!
I hope that I could someday have this level of knowledge on so many different aspects of realizing ideas.
well done. when i wanted a quest 2, i got one. when i wanted to get rid of a quest 2, i got rid of one. i never had any regrets. when i saw what you'd done with a quest 2, i had one regret.
you single handedly improved on the quest2, great work, the AR interface is very interesting
congratulations for your achievement. Outstanding
that build quality is actually insane :o
AMAZING MAN!!!! YOU CRUSHED IT!!!
I love this VR. Respect to you, man.
The thing that interests me the most is spatial interfaces like the one you showed, instead of the flat point-and-click interfaces that pervade VR software. There’s a lot that can be done with an added spatial dimension and its accompanying axes of rotation. Alongside motion and gesture tracking, we haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg with what we can achieve with these types of new interfaces. I intend to enter the field of software design/development with an emphasis of game design/development, so these are things I may end up exploring and implementing myself one day.
the best of the contents about vr/ar.
This is incredible! Other than the imagination, I lack the tools or know how to accomplish this, but great to see what can be done Great work!
Really cool project! I always wanted to get into VR and AR tech and build my own devices
this is incredibly impressive. You must have a degree (or multiple) I feel to have put this all together
