Occasionally I am lucky enough to be sent products/clothing free of charge by PR companies, meaning, I may not have paid for everything I talk about. I am not in ANY way obligated to mention these products and if I have done so, it is because I genuinely like them. I would NEVER talk about or show something I didn't genuinely love.
Sometimes, I may be sponsored by brands for videos. I turn down 90% of sponsorship opportunities. I will not accept unless I love the brand/product already. All products/items will still have been chosen by myself, and the video concept will always be my own idea. I would never endorse a brand/product that I didn't truly love and believe in.
I use affiliate links in the description box of this channel. This means I earn a very small percentage when you purchase a product I recommend- the same way a sales associate in a store earns commission when they help you select a product. This does not in any way affect the price you pay for the item, and absolutely does not influence my choice of items to show you.
Lots of love,
Freds x
I mean...Zara and &other stories are fast fashion stores as well, their quality is just a little bit better
unfortunately zara's quality has gone downhill in the US though!
And Zara's quality is quite questionable nowadays...
Yes this is what I was thinking 🤔
Yeah Zara is one of the token fast fashion brands as well as H&M
Exactly, they are all equally bad… I personally think Zara quality is horrid though
#videoidea I think it would be an interesting video if Coco ordered clothes from a range of brands (lower and high end prices/high street and premium) and see if Freddy can guess the price/where it’s from/quality without having seen the logos/branding first 🤔
yas put quality to the test! x
Yesss
Absolutely love this idea!
Yes!
I came her to say the exact same thing!
The irony is that cheap clothing that doesn't last ends up costing you way more than good quality pieces that last and don't go out of style. I'm totally going off fast fashion brands and buying way less often! x
Yes queen!!!!!!! Do it and inspire others 🌼🕊️🤍💪
I totally agree BUT you have to be able to afford buying e.g. a £100 Jeans when you need a new one. Many people can’t afford that. Not just „poor families“ but also students. But when you take care of your clothes even cheaper ones can last years. I myself have for example H&M clothes from when I went to school that are over 6 years old and still wearable. The main issue are people shopping for stuff they don’t Need. Freddy for example has said multiple times that she owns clothes she hasn’t even worn or only worn a couple of times. No one needs multiple dresses that are just slightly different.
The past two years I only go shopping twice a year. Once for spring summer, once for fall winter. And thanks to Marie Kondo-ing my entire wardrobe during the beginning of quarantine, I only buy quality “essentials” now. I’ve honestly saved so much money spending MORE on quality pieces. Just less pieces.
@@Bertiiiiii I buy quality clothes second hand online. They cost around 10 untill 50 percent from the original price. But I know most of the brands I buy very well, because I was shopping often in the past. If I only visted the H&M store, I wouldn't be able to tell which brands have better quality.
Check out white rose recycled fashion
I'd love to see a haul of sustainable fashion
To be honest… sustainable is a buzz word. There is no exact standard for sustainable anything. Your best thing is to buy second hand. We don’t wear things until they are rags anymore.
@@KoriEmerson if you do your research you can definitely find brands that fit the label of “sustainable” and “ethical” in the way they source materials and make their garments but it’s really hard since not a lot of brands are transparent :( second hand and shopping less is definitely the better alternative overall
@@KoriEmerson I know you're right about this, because it makes sense, but it's just so sad. Customers are becoming more and more aware of the importance of sustainability and are trying to do the right thing, but it's hard to know if a brand is actually sustainable or not :'(
me too, I would love to hear about more slow fashion companies, that are in a variety of budgets
maybe like NA-KD
To be fair, Zara is also very unethical and problematic so no one who’s buying at Zara should actually judge people buying from these stores (I’m not speaking about Freddie, just in general). Oh and also if the people who make these clothes were paid fairly, none of these outfits would be worth 2£ even if they were low quality fabrics. I just think it’s worth mentioning (and yeah I get that some people can’t afford to buy expensive clothes, but the thing is that if clothes were better quality (and I include Zara in this) they would last longer and we wouldn’t have to buy that many). That being said, I still enjoyed the video! I love Freddy’s personality ☺️
And if trends wouldn't switch so fast. People for some reason feel the urge to follow any trend and therefore buy buy buy
@@SaschaBraus77 Absolutely! And I love potatoes too 🤗
Totally agree. I‘d love a fair fashion haul, I think Freddy would totally find some cute pieces🥰
unethical and very problematic. also they practiced Islamophobia
Yeah id avoid zara there are definitely better alternatives
Yes Zara and & Other Stories aren't the most ethical either, but when you're able to buy something with better quality, it lasts longer, which is more sustainable in the long run.
Most people cannot afford sustainable brands. And personally, I don't want to shop at thrift stores because that could be potentially taking clothes away from people who need them more than me. It's about buying less frequently, and less often, and wearing the clothes often.
@@camillefaith2005 exactly, wearing your clothes for longer is a lot more sustainable than having the same shopping habits (like overconsumption) just at an “ethical store”
@@camillefaith2005 Buying second hand dont leads to shortage of clothes. We have produced such amounts of clothes over the last 10 years worldwide that it lasts for the next decades. The problem is that we feel the need of buying more than we need. To be honest I think Influencers like Freddy and our behavier as followers are part of the problem. She shows us 20 new dresses and we think we have to buy at least one new one. But I (and maybe most of the followers) dont need a new dress every season or every year. That sums up.
Its a Dilemma, because I like these fashion videos.
@@camillefaith2005 Don't feel bad about thrift shops. As of now there is so much unworn clothing that there will never be a shortage. I hope I helped❤
💜💜💜
I have to say, I really appreciate the honesty in this ... there are so many influencers do sponsored videos with some of these brands, and they hop about and rave about how much they love the clothes but never seem to wear them again. Always made me suspicious and this confirms that generally the quality of these brands is terrible
Ladies if you want beautiful timeless unexpensive quality clothes... Simply chose pre-loved pieces ! It's easy with all the apps existing nowadays. I get the most beautiful clothes for very very low prices, in the best materials ! Good for the wallet, good for the planet ! 🤗💙
YES! I'm a broke college student and I buy almost all of my clothing from thrift shops and on apps like depop. It's honestly less money than a lot of fast fashion brands, and you can get pieces that are way better quality. I have things I thrifted years ago that are still in amazing condition even after being worn and washed over and over again.
Same! I too have a very tight budget and I need new clothes for the school year because I have nothing of quality and everything has been out grown. So defo going to be doing that alot
On a ethical/sustainability standpoint these brands are just as bad as H&M, Zara, & Other Stories etc… However I love your style so instead I buy a lot second hand ( often brand new with tags) from Depop & eBay. Hoping this is helpful for people looking for a affordable & sustainable way of enjoy Freddesque style 💚
LINEN LOOK! LINEN LOOK! PLEASEEEEEE! 🤣🤣🤣 iconic Freddy, love this video x
🤣🤣
I was looking for this comment ! 🤩🤣
@8:33 Zara is not an ethically conscious shop. They use forced labor. (Forced as in the people making the clothes aren’t paid. They’re forced to work there). Remember that next time you list ethically conscious shops. They most certainly are not that. They have been called out on it (along with other brands) and ignored the criticism so that they could keep their expenses low (unlike all the other brands that stopped using forced labor and apologized for it, like nike, gap, etc).
Their top designer is an islamophobes as well... and she puplicly admitted her support for the genocide and racial cleansing that's being commeted against the palestnians... so here's that too
They are very much a green washing, evil brand much like H&M.
@@lesbiangoddess290 agreed. what's worse is they even dare to price their clothes for higher than H&M does, and brand themselves as a brand with good quality clothes that is superior to other brands when in fact it's all just a big hoax
The last dress was probably the only one that I liked! It's so dreamy
I thought the last dress of Oh Polly was the best. It really flattered you & looked the most like your style. Thank you for the video. The Pink Oh Polly dress made me think of the Pretty In Pink movie. It was a great movie, but I never want to see the stle of clothes again.
This English teacher loved your The Crucible reference. And now I keep saying, “I saw Bridget Bishop with the Devil.”
🤣🤣🤍
Yes not everyone can afford to shop at ted baker etc, but imo the quality from these brands is so poor, you would be better off shopping smart in the sales than resorting to this level of rubbish. It’s not even that cheap considering how poor the fabric and construction are.
I agree. I understand that this is Freddy’s job and a lot of her viewers would want to see her make videos of cheaper brands, but since she can afford to buy better, I think she should only keep those that are actually good quality. We all know she’ll end up decluttering most of her lower quality clothes. Even though, they’re cheap, they’re not worth the money. I think she should return them.
Freddy's hair is an institution. 🤩😍
Just to let you know- Zara is a fast fashion brand, and one of the worse in the UK
And their ethics are not great either
The fact that their store staff is always in a bad mood, tells you all about what kind of a company it is. If the people on the “better” end of the supply chain already hate their work that much, imagine the other end.
I verbally gasped at that last dress. It looks incredible.
I'm literally watching this while ironing my thrifted silks which feels ironic haha. I used to think "well I'm a broke student/recent graduate what else can I do?" but then I started wandering the thrift stores and finding gorgeous silk tops for $10-$30 CAD and cashmere sweaters for $15-$40. It's interesting to watch but the amount of fast fashion being produced is staggering, it's kind of scary to think about. I do still shop at stores like Aritzia, which isn't perfectly ethical but they are trying to improve and include more sustainable fabrics and production methods. I know how to get the most out of their sales by now, especially since regular customers get special sales, and the quality is usually very reliable. I must warn people though, once you start to focus on buying quality natural fiber fabrics anything else makes your skin sad. Even if I see an adorable acrylic sweater now I just can't do it! Cashmere is an addiction! Nobody told me that it gets softer and even more heavenly over time, but if you care for it properly it truly does!
Hi, I'm a thrift stores enthousiast too, and I love my Cashmere sweaters. BUT I'm not the best at taking care of them. Can you give me a few advices, please ? 😆🙏🏼
@@elisedasvin170 I usually just hand wash them in cool water or use the delicates cycle on the washing machine. Use a little bit of fabric softener and lay them flat to dry so they don't get warped out of shape. Every once in a while it's also good to use a pill removed or even just carefully go over them with a safety razor to remove any pilling. I also store them folded rather than hanging them up so they don't stretch out. Hope this helped!
@@KaylaNoelle1 Thanks dear ! Perfectly helpful !
I really wish I could afford cashmere, honestly the way you describe it sounds amazing. Sadly, I've never come across any in thrift stores :'(
YES! Thrifting is the best - my cashmere, silk, wool and linen pieces agree :D
Hi, Freddy! My name is Jacinta and I am 10 years old. Thank you for always making me happy and smile. You are so pretty, beautiful, kind, generous etc. I love you so muchhhh!💙💜❤
I think there is an app called “good on you” and it’s really nice because it tells you on a scale of 1-5. It shows you how ethical your clothes are. And if I remember correctly Zara is on scale 1 😬😬 but I think people are sometimes unwahre of that and continue to buy from there. I am also not judging Freddy I absolutely adore her videos and personality💕, but I am also speaking generally for the public. If I also recall, I think H&M are finally starting to go more ethical these days. And you will often find more and more labels saying “100% recycled polyester or Cotten on there clothes.
Keep that in mind that Polyester is also an awful fabric as it’s made of plastic and cannot deteriorate like Cotten as it’s not organic. So if everyone can try and avoid plastic fabrics. The world might actually be a lot better in terms of the environment. ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely detest polyester. Once I started to care about the quality of my clothing, cotton and linen became my preferred fabrics. Shopping second hand online and in person and just not spending as much on clothes has been the best thing ever.
but the quality and sizing of Zara, H&M and ASOS are also terrible
I’d love for you to try some new sustainable and/or ethical brands. Like armed angels and the likes. They’re quite pricey compared to the brands in this video but higher quality and not as problematic. Thank you for considering this ❤️
I ordered a cardigan from armed angels and it seems really good quality which I was surprised by since it only cost around 50€
@@maurasilva9924 their entire brand concept is more of a slow fashion one. Same with recolution, a German brand. And I’m sure there are many more.
0:53- Me too!!! Every time you recommend a stunning piece of clothing in one of your videos and I am slightly late- it *always* is out of stock! Damn you, Freddy, for being so popular and perfect with your opinions
Personally Zara have really lost my support once and for all. Please boycott them if you care about standing up to genocide. The anti Palestine comments made recently by their designer were disgustingly ignorant and awful. And obv their clothes' quality have been on the decline for a while now.
Oh God no. Haven't been there since my mum forced me on those shopping trips to these terrible stores when I was little.
They also use forced labour to produce their clothing
That last dress is stunning!
The last one was my fave! Looks stunning on you!
Oh polly actually donate ALOT of money to a charity in Cambodia which is where the brand idea first started!
I love how honest you are about quality. Because the first two looks are sooo amazing but if something feels uncomfortable then I’m just not going to want to wear it
😍 that last dress 😍 it was beautiful 😍
A thrifting video would be good to watch with Coco. To make the clothes more sustainable and less surrounded by fast fashion!
The white, boned, puff sleeve dress was SO cute! 😍
That bony tape is likely horse hair. It's sometimes used on the trim of wedding veils to add structure and bounce.
River Island would be my most hated brand, its became so tacky 🙈
I partly agree, but I found that when I went in the other week I found some really nice pieces if you look hard enough! :)
Their new spring summer line is actually nice!! I think they have had a bit of a rebrand
@@maisieann7971 i haven't been in for ages because i was so disappointed the last time I went :( a lot of the tops I looked at were 100% polyester and £35 ish 😱 I hope they can turn it around x
Agree, I used to love River Island but went in today and was horrified by how terrible everything was. I wondered maybe if they've had issues getting stock made with all the lock downs
@@BeckiBlack26 Maybe! Nothing was to my taste (last time I went in) and it looked like stuff you'd find on a market stall. I sometimes find old River Island at charity shops and the quality used to be soo much better X
That last dress looked gorgeous on you! 😍💕🌸
"It looks great" until you wash it and it falls apart. The blue Lorna Luxe play suit looks awful.
Agreed, very very unflattering playsuit
The last dress, WAUW 😍
omggg cant wait to watch it!! Love you Freddy🥰🥰
The last dress was just amazingly beautiful , the sleeves omg 😍 you looked stunning Freddy !
Yees i hope she keeps it!
the last blue dress is flattering on your skin and hair!
"Those really nice summer days that we have about 2 of a year" lollll dutchies can relate😂😭
The sustainability thing is such a controversial topic and I understand that financial concerns are valid; I've experienced this myself. However, it seems to me that quite a lot of the time people say they can't afford to shop sustainably or more ethically yet they continue accumulate so much stuff. For example, they may have 5 pairs of cheap H&M jeans that they acquired over the course of a couple of years when instead they could have put all that money into a single pair of high quality jeans, say from Everlane (just as an example.) Obviously this is not everyone and I'm not talking about people in really poor situations, but I have seen people balk at the price of a single garment because they think they need to indulge in maximalism with their wardrobe. Of course sustainable shopping is daunting when you think you need to have a lot of things. When you really pare back your possessions and take stock of what you actually love to wear, you can put your money where your heart is.
Perfection doesn't exist and all we can do is try, but I think it has to begin with being honest with ourselves. We need to take more responsibility for how we 'vote' with our money and stop putting all the blame on companies for shoving trends down our throats. We are not obligated to buy what they're marketing to us.
I sometimes think due to social media, people are obsessed with having far more clothes to snap for their Instagram. 15 years ago, we just never thought that way. It was normal to be seen in the same outfit multiple times. Or we were a bit more creative, switching up a belt or scarf.
Then you would save up and after a few month buy new items. Then as you progressed in your job/career you would build up your wardrobe in the sales with investment pieces. Which back in the day only really happened twice a year. Now it is every month on line:)
@@darrylbannon2727 Well not quite true, 20 years ago this sort of thing just happened in tv shows and movies instead of social media. Sex and the city for example. Of course it's on a bigger scale now but if we only started buying so much 15 years ago, the landfill problem wouldn't be so bad yet.
@@darrylbannon2727 Yes, that is a great point. People can pretty much spend all their free time online now, so the urge to continuously post something new (and wear something new) is probably at an all time high. I'm also not at all surprised that fast fashion brands generally cater to the younger age demographics.
@@darrylbannon2727 15 years ago Lizzie McGuire was shamed as an outfit repeater.
@@arletteschu Not everyone watched Sex and the City and being from that generation, it was about designer labels and we were intelligent enough to know that it was a fantasy. Plus Pat Field's used a large amount of thrifted clothing for SJP. I work in the industry so know that data:) 15 years ago consumer spending was very different on clothing.
These are some of my favorite videos. They make me laugh but I also love when you find something you like.
Yayy always here for more of your content freddy xx
I saw Goody Proctor with the devil 😂😂😂
But the dress would definitely be perfect for the play 😂👏🏼
Hi Freddy! 🥰Just wanted to say that for the “milkmaid body suit” you can use one of those stick on bras, they are shaped like the cup, they come in different sizes just like a regular bra, and they just kind stick on you, just in case anyone wanted to get the blouse or wants to get a similar style they are wearable ☺️
The last dress is absolutely amazing 😍😍, it's angelic.
You could try Lucy & Yak for brands that are not your style. It's also an ethical brand so that would be nice.
Freddy looks like a princess! ✨
As always
The last dress is so dreamy! It looked so fabulous on you💗can’t wait for you to put it on and go out in the coming months🍸👗👠
I’ve been watching your videos for a year now and you’re one of my greatest inspirations. I would love to see a video on university fashion. Kind of a combination of the preppy and academia looks.
i wish i suited your aesthetic, its so cute and classy
How could a garment cost £2 to make! For a worker at minimum wage that would be less than half an hour to make, and that wouldn’t even cover the fabric costs! I think we need to rethink fast fashion in a major way.
absolute agree! we really need to start speaking with our purses more. It is horrible the conditions that many of the people that work for these companies have to deal with. Think I need to do some research on slow fashion companies.
Exactly! People complain about an $80 shirt because they’ve been accustomed to believe that shirts should cost $15. They don’t think about the production and the people behind that it. Most of the clothes I own are from F21 because that’s all we could afford. Now, I’m accumulating pieces from Reformation very slowly. The quality is great and I actually love every item. And even if I don’t, I can sell them for a decent price. No one would pay any money for a ratty old F21 dress. My mom thinks I’m crazy for spending a lot of money on one item of clothing, but she doesn’t mind spending the same amount for half a dozen low quality pieces. I’d rather have one item from a sustainable brand, than half a dozen of cheap stuff that will only last a few years. Of course there are thrift stores, but there are no good ones near me 🙁

Love the white outfit 🙂❤️
Love the video as usual! The first top was actually gorgeous 🌸
The last oh Polly dress is super pretty! Like honestly it would look so cute with a denim jacket!
Such a fun video-I'm so glad you found some pieces that you love! You look like a princess in that pink off-shoulder rouched Oh Polly Dress 💕
The pink body on dress looked stunning on you. You looked like a movie star!!
The pink dress with the unique sleeves actually looked sooo pretty!
Liked the sand denim dress, angel dress, white cotton dress, the blue dress if you cut off the sleeves, and the last dress.
Alternate title should've been Freddy critiquing clothing quality for 28 mins straight
That last dress 🥰 soo dreamy
Before you move out could you do one last wardrobe tour?
Thank you Freddy. I really like your personality and style. Well, I can't believe the dress cost 36£ either, since the minimum wage in my country is 173£ . I wonder how much all this shoddy clothes cost, because the women who work crazy shifts making clothes here in my country barely earn that figure per month. To think that the situation here is much better than in other countries in the region! I'm sorry for my bad English.
In what country do you live?
@@Makima111 Colombia.
You really hit the nail on the head, I’m pretty sure I found EXACTLY something like that for The Crucible 😂😂 loved having some fun with this video!!
Dear Freddy, please please please educate yourself! Zara is an awful brand and recommending them because they are a better brand is just awful. You have such a big influence. You are obviously free to buy and show whatever you want but don’t make brands better than they are. Especially Zara and mango are terrible especially for their pricepoint. Yes they may seem better quality but that’s not everything you’re buying
First and last and the little white dress! You did really well!!! Thanks for sharing!🌎🌏🌹🌍
Freddy, I love your "fashion challenge" videos so much! They are so entertaining! I always find it so funny and you are so witty when you exactly pin point your references or what character you are embodying in certain outfits... SO, I think for your next fashion challenge video you should try something along the lines of "Dressing as my Alter Egos". You can interpret that how you see fit- I trust your creative intelligence would do something incredible with that! :)
Hearing freddy crinkled in the white dress had me in a fit 🤣
Freddy really exudes I'm stylish and I'm beautiful and what about it energy.
You looked amazing in the last oh Polly dress! 😍 I hope you keep it 💗
Last dress is the BEST dress! 💛 You have to keep it Freddy! 😊 You look so lovely and sultry in it! 💕
