    Best video ever made and to the point. Very detailed. I wish my salesman would have explained it to me this way. Thank you so much.

    Your video is very informative and really helps. Since we purchased in May 2020, we have learned most of these things either the easy way, or the hard way. Often found posts on various "groups" that eventually answered our questions. Getting such great information straight from Roadtrek helps even more! I hope that those who get new Roadtreks find this and your other videos immediately. It would speed the learning curve! Thanks again, and Happy Holidays

    Thank you Sean. Other than the Li stuff, I have been answering these questions for 4 years. Dealer briefings and the manual seem to have left gaps. This should help fill them.

    I purchased a 2021 Roadtrek SS Agile (brand new 260 miles on it) about 3 months. I drove it from the dealer home and it’s been parked there (winterized by the dealer; I live in a Suburb of Cleveland). The dealer calls it a “transitional” model. It has all the “goodies” a MB 2021 Chassis (- the higher gear transmission) and everything the 2021 SS Agile should have (- Firefly system an induction range). Anyway, every two weeks I try to start it and the battery is dead. Doesn’t matter if I have the battery disconnect off or not (which is a tricker operation with the toggle switch-still not sure how to do it properly). I have to keep jumping the van to get it started. Not an ideal situation after paying over $149k! Today I tried starting it and it turned over, barely. I turned on the lithium batteries and tried turning on the battery disconnect but I get nothing. I turned on the inverter, plug into shore power and still could not get the battery to turn on. I give up!!!! Help all I now have is a very expensive door stop!!

      Rv manufacturer don’t care about your is issues most likely they will no answer your questions, I call costumer care with some of my issues and the guy who answers my call was very rude. Good luck.

    So to have shore power I must have batteries switch on and the inverter switch on. Is that correct. And if so how do I know shore power is charging my batteries and running all my appliances? And the not inverter providing the power.

    Got a question? I have a 2015R170V, For my house batteries to charge...do I have to have the Battery Disconnect on AND the Inverter on in order for my house batteries to charge?

    Great informative video, thanks. I have a question as a brand new owner of a 2018 Roadtrek Zion - Can I leave the 2 lithium battery switches always in the on position as they will always charge via the solar panels and/or the secondary alternator while the vehicle is running...and only need to turn on the inverter when that particular source of power is needed? Hope that made sense in my question. Thanks for your clarification.

    thanks sean great vid. i purchased a 2016 Roadtrek CS adventurous with lithium batteries/ modules. The consignment dealer was somewhat knowledgeable .I got home and plugged in my rig / 30A circuit with inverter on and modules at the time I didn't realize what was going on, had not seen your vid. yet. Next morning I went to rig and it smelled like sulfur/rotten eggs so the blk/gry tanks were ok but I checked anyway it seem to come from the coach batteries, 2 6volt batteries underhood.
    After looking at your vid I thought I did ok, inverter should have recognized shore power and passed thru, on the other hand I didn't do a battery disconnect to the coach batteries which as I understand it disconnect but with shore power and inverter on the inverter connects??
    I think I over charged the coach batteries? Thoughts? thanks

    I have an older(2003 Popular) & he is showing a newer model with totally updated switches & appliances in different places. A/c & refrigerator are both newer as is temp thermostat so this video doesn’t help much except for basics.. they should’ve made one for older models that would be much more helpful

    Very helpful Sean. We have a 2018 Zion SRT that does not have the monitor thing under the hood that you show in the video. Is it possible to retrofit that item?

    Thanks Sean, I do have a question about your section on shore power. I was told along the way when connecting to shore power that the sequence must be: Li batts "on", battery disconnect "on", hook up to shore power and turn on, THEN turn on the inverter. In this video, you show inverter "on" before connecting to shore power. Which is correct or does it not matter? BTW, thanks for the reminder on the system reset.

    • @RoadtrekMotorhomes
      @RoadtrekMotorhomes  3 роки тому

      Jerry,
      The Inverter should be turned on first This allows the Inverter to perform the Transfer portion of the hook up properly . It can assess the quality of power entering your coach and “Decide “to stay on Battery power. This occurs when the Voltage being supplied is too low or too high . The Inverter does not have built in Surge protection .
      Sean

    Will Roadtrek do a video for the "Firefly Coach Control and Monitoring System" for the new 2021 Roadtrek Zion? I'm expecting my new Zion deliver January 2021, with the new Firefly Control System.

    • @RoadtrekMotorhomes
      @RoadtrekMotorhomes  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, we most certainly will be doing a walk through video of how the Firefly Coach control system works with the rest of the coach functions. It will not be available until the New Year but we are working on it for everyone.

      @@RoadtrekMotorhomes Which new year will the Firefly video be available? 2021 or 2022? We have a 2021 Zion Slumber. Also are you suggesting we purchase a surge protector when hooking up to shore power since you say the inverter doesn't have surge protection? Thanks.

    Hi, Great video. I just purchased a 2019 Zion SRT. I was plugged into shore power and tried running my AC. It worked fine during the day but tried turning it on in the evening but it turned off after a few seconds. I have not had power to my 110v outlets, induction stove, and microwave since. I have tried the fixes to restore power to my 110v outlets but still can't get power to my 110 outlets. I have pushed the test button on the GFCI breaker but I am not having any luck with that. I am plugged in to home power using a 110v to 30 amp adaptor. Do you have any suggestions that I can try?

    • @RoadtrekMotorhomes
      @RoadtrekMotorhomes  2 роки тому

      Hi you need to confirm that the breaker has not tripped. The air conditioner is on a 20 amp circuit and the adapters usually take you down to 15 amps.

      @@RoadtrekMotorhomes Thank you for your rapid response. I was plugged into 30 Amp shore power when I lost power. How can I reset the power now that I at home? I have turned the breakers off then on again but I have not had any luck with that.

    On a bright sunny day, with three solar panels charging my batteries, and with the only load on the system being the ceiling fan, my ecotrek batteries seem to shut off and need to be reset again.
    I don't have the inverter on, so it seems the load on these batteries should be well below the charging rate of the solar power.
    Do you know what can be causing this? Is the auxiliary battery in a Mercedes chassis required to retain a charge to keep the EcoTrek modules on?
