Great lesson and really made me think of vibrato very differently in analytical way. I've been playing for almost 10 years and I think many of the things you both covered here I do pretty instinctively now such as when vibrato is applied to a note, the speed and width. However, you both got me to start thinking about it more because there are certain tools i'm not using or focusing on. You both also reminded me about Bend Vibrato! When I was first learning how to do it, many years ago I found it really really difficult, but I never realized that in of itself is very much a very personal technique players do differently. David Gilmour tends to have a very mid paced tight bend vibrato, Gary Moore mostly did a wider faster bend vibrato and then someone like Mike Bloomfield has a extremely fast wide almost out of control bend vibrato and Rory Gallagher really liked to use fast and tight bend vibrato. It's very fascinating.
