Watching this and the documentary of their newest album, it's obvious that Travis has taken a the biggest toll on his body. Dave looks like he has hasn't aged and he is playing probably the most physically taxing drums I've ever seen! But when you compare travis from then to now, it's like he's gone through hell. Idk, maybe it's being married, the vocal styles, or all the touring? Either way, kudos to these guys for being able to do this kind of style for as long as they have
I've always found it ironic that the people who make and listen to music about the goriest brutalist nastiest things are always the nicest of people. Its almost hypocritical, but i guess its a good thing that they DON'T actually act upon what their music is about lol
The drumming is inkredible, I never really got into cattle d but this record is really good. Check out the Dimmu Borgir (puritanical moments) in it. Really cool record all around with the vocals and riffs.
Is it getting popular with short hair? Many of my favorite "extreme" metal drummers have cut their hair short, not that it actually matters at all, but Dave, John Longstreth, Trey from dying fetus... any else? Just throwing it out there.
It's probably rare that the members get to stop for hair cuts on tour, and they eventually need to cut their long hair. So I guess they just cut their hair short so they don't have to worry about it. That's just my guess.
True, but considering that their last album didn't seem to have snare triggering (or, if it did, it was subtle)... eh, maybe they had problems with the acoustics in the studio.
I agree that the drums have some of the most crushing brutal parts, but I hope the drummer doesn't turn into a stuck up ass head and end up splitting up the band or dying which was really sad last time stay brutal cattle you guys fucking rocked pdx
+Droobis actually i respectfully disagree. ive been in a professional touring band for 5 years now and played a lot of shows with a lot of different bands. the most triggers ive ever seen anyone use is a kick and snare trig, thats all. i think youll find most guys (aside from kick triggers) tend to avoid them altogether unless the music or circumstance absolutely calls for it. most of the guys i know would rather know they can play it unaided
+GTModified You can use a Trigger for more than one thing, it's not just for sound triggering. You can use it to gate the sound source of your choice or Trigger other effects. many Producers use a Trigger on the snare to fix the bleed from the hats. it doesnt always have to be about reenforcing a snare sound, often it's just to clean something up.
2:23 - Projectile Ovulation
3:25 - Dead Set On Suicide

why you triggered the snare ?
tonydamaga ive heard you can also use a trigger to remove alot of bleeding from the rest of the kit.

thats true, though uncommon. and its pretty complex to be running unless youre a big band playing big shows
