- Airbus A380 F-WWOW made two flypasts of Prestwick Airport as part of its first tour of the UK. Spirit Aerosystems, (based at Prestwick Airport), constructs part of the leading edge of the A380's wings, so the flypast was Airbus' way of saying "Thankyou".
This video shows the first of two flypasts.
I remember that day well! I was still drunk from the night before, but me and a couple of pals went there and filmed it. Amazing sight. Shame it wasn't a regular feature at Edinburgh Airport.
Did it not land?
No, it did a low pass and flew off to Glasgow. It did a circuit or 2 out over the Forth and one over Edinburgh Airport/West Craigs prior to the low pass.
