Spectacular images! I used to live almost on the top of a hill, with a quarry edge along my north boundary, and Sydney's Darling Harbour about 8km away. Every year I went out, trying to get good fireworks shots and never really pleased with my efforts. One time, as the neighbours' shrubbery had become a bit wild, I managed to set up my tripod on the top of my A-frame ladder to gain some elevation, which solved one problem, but not that of getting pretty malnourished shots. Now I am well out of Sydney; perhaps I should go to the park where fireworks are held about 15 minutes' drive away and see if I can put your suggestions into practice. Useful advice! Thanks, Greg.
