  • The caves of Skye are not well known and although small, are fascinating to explore. Two of the more accessible are shown in this video, both near Torrin, just south of the Cuillins. Beinn an Dubhaich Cave has beautiful banded marble limestone, baked by the intrusion of granite during the Tertiary 40-50 million years ago. Camas Malag Caves have one stream but multiple entrances. Dolerite dykes are seen in the cave. This video is a must-see for any arm-chair caving explorer who wants to see somewhere unusual underground that is completely well off the beaten track.
