Gunvein - Intense Mode All Clear - Type-B [with commentary]

Here's my all-clear of Gunvein from June 10th of this year. This was a last-minute recording while I have a very small window of time to work with, so no notes since I'm just winging this one.

I really like Gunvein and felt that the easy mode is a challenge already. Will come back to this game sooner or later.

Thanks so much, Des! You'll bang this out before you know it. Are you going for the tlb as well? Despite how wild it looks, it's not so crazy and I'm pretty sure it's one of the shortest boss fights in the entire game (if not the shortest). All the best and it'd be great to hear your thoughts on it when you clear. Keep up the stellar playing!

@@Shmuptopia the TLB isn't my concern there are some issues i have with the 5th stage midboss and some patterns with the 5th stage boss I'm having trouble with, i recently cleared intense with typeA, and it's difficult for me with typeB. im tryin to do a all shipz intense clear. :)

@@desmaku87If you’ve cleared it with another ship already, you’re well on your way bro. I definitely had some challenge during some of those bosses using Type B as well but eventually things started clicking a little more. You’ll have it in no time.

REALLY like the graphics (so clear yet colorful. Imho BIG step up from Ghost Blade). Hope it gets a Switch physical (also like Ghost Blade; not my favorite but years later still think it's cool to be credited in it😛).

Yeah, Ghost Blade HD was a great one to soak up some experience in and I find I still really enjoy the sfx and whatnot. Thanks for checking this out Sicket!

Glad to see you back with another commentary. Gunvein is awesome. The ships are better balanced here than in a lot of shmups and it rewards aggression very well. I used Type C when I did my clear a couple of months and you summed up a lot of my strategy with that ship pretty well: take out enemies as soon as they come on screen with the charge shot. Scoring is excellent as I love how it encourages you to use bombs instead of hording them.

Thanks, Psy! I didn't pay much attention to scoring other than making the most of boss-phase destruction via bombs for the stars and some sections of stages. It'll be great to see what kind of direction they go in next!

I clicked on this commentary video immediately after your previous Gunvein one because you mentioned you'd be discussing several topics in your full clear commentary that sounded interesting. Only to get here and find out you deliberately discarded those topics and spent the first chunk of the 'commentary' here talking about how you weren't using notes, didn't remember anything from the playthru, and then fill space with stuff like "It's Friday for me, hope you guys are doing well, I might upload some more stuff later..." that's all well and good information but it doesn't directly apply to the game you're discussing. I enjoyed the previous commentary vid on this game but this one was a major disappointment.
