Emotional Scenes as Colin Bell's Family see New Man City Kit

- Colin Bell’s family got an emotional surprise when presented with our home kit for the 2022/23 season.
Bell, widely regarded as one of the finest players in the history of the club, wore the famous sky blue shirt between 1966 and 1979 - a period that saw City lift seven major honours.
The King’s family were recently invited to the Etihad Stadium to get a first glimpse of our home kit for next season - a design inspired by the midfielder who passed away in January 2021 aged 74.
After visiting a match-worn shirt from Colin’s playing career, the family saw a video celebrating the inside forward’s impact on our club before a mannequin wearing our new PUMA kit was revealed in the centre circle.
“It’s a very emotional experience. It’s amazing that the club have decided to do this and for it to be dedicated to dad is a great tribute to him,” said Colin’s son Jon.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Colin Bell at the Etihad , I reminded him of our tunnel meeting at Maine Road City v Fenerbache [ 0-0 ] , his reply was "you must have a better memory than me " , a nice man & wonderful football player.

As a Gortoner born in the late 70's all I ever knew was stories about Colin Bell, this is such a piece of class from City. The kit is one of the best we have ever had too.

I am now 64 years old. I have been a Tottenham fan since 1965. The best player I ever saw live was Glenn Hoddle...the 2nd...Colin Bell. How on earth do people rage on about Charlton when Bell was just extraordinarily great. Skilful, hard working, unpredictable...he would have been a world superstar these days. Just so glad to see some recognition. So many young fans have never heard of him...BBC never mention him..But just a huge thank you to the man for being one of...no...THE most underated players I ever saw. Outside of me and the whole of Man City Football Club of course. The family?....Welllll, they're biased! Lol. RIP Colin. And thank you sir.
