    Many average people think it's bad to wonder, but they aren't inventive and smart. They want you to be alive and awake in the world, but what's the harm in concocting ideas in your head, even though it will divert your attention to your surrounding whereabouts? I've been seen as very lazy and unhelpful, when really, I'm just thinking a lot, and wondering on possibilities. I've even had people think I'm not aware of the world around me, because I go into my head a lot. Plus, some people think I'm unfriendly, dumb, and attitude oriented, because I'm so quiet. To top it off, I met people who thought I was nuts. Why do average people have to be so mean?

      I get you, i have a similar personality, but you can't really change people. Even when i try to mask my intelligence it ends up bleeding out due to laziness,then people think im full of myself because i dont talk about a.i,philosophy,tech,psychology etc around them, but when i do im arrogant either way. Best to avoid people with fuming insecurities of there own intelligence. I simply speak to others for unique perspectives not to flex how much smarter i am. I can relate to alot of people perfectly fine, why does he/her have to be better than me? Leave them be its a large chunk of the population.

    I was tested in elementary school for IQ and was placed in a program called Mentally Gifted Minors. This was in the 60s. I totally relate to this description of intelligence. Boredom is a big one. Always wanting to learn more. Wanting challenges. Also an uncanny ability to read people. Thanks for sharing this video. 🎉 It’s me. 😊

      And now imagine your intelligence was never recognized
      Living in a classical "Because I said so" and "Just Because" household (for me it were 3, cause split parents, and tooo much time with my grandparents, who thought they figured it all out after 5 kids)
      And falling behind socially cause of moving, and late digital engagement (e.g. I didn't answer texts because my phone was taken away for a month (most of the time because a disagreement, I was never really bad), and when people asked me about it, I would never tell them the real reason, because with them having a healthy relationship with their parents, they would think that I earned the punishment, which would put me into a bad light)
      And don't get me started on the school system... (Germany)
      Well, anyway, I could go on for pages 😅😢

      You just have to find your "outlet" to express your intelligence. I go through stages of brain feeding with different subject matter... drawing, painting, carpentry, languages, reading, computers and operating systems and the programming, music (listening and writing) etc. and of course thinking a lot.
      Honestly sometimes I wish I could just shut my brain down.

    I find myself agreeing with everything on this list, except for number 10. I partially agree with number 10 but I partially disagree. Essentially, this one is talking about people who can multitask. On the one hand, I do think this is a sign of higher intelligence, and I definitely tend to be jealous of people like this. I personally have never been good at multitasking. However, I also think that our obsession with multitasking is one of the key elements to why our culture has gone downhill in overall quality. For example, fast food restaurants. Fast food restaurants actually used to be FAST food. You got in there and you got out of there pretty quickly. But now? Well now they have drive-through. Now all of the employees in these restaurants have to do more tasks and take care of a larger quantity of people from different directions, both inside the restaurant as well as coming around the side of the building to a window and those people are expecting their food SUPER fast. This results in causing the employees to feel more stress and pressure. Consequently, the service quality has taken a nose dive. Good luck to the people going INSIDE the restaurant hoping to receive some quick customer service because all of the employees are almost totally focused on the drive through customers. I also think that tasks do not get done as thoroughly or as effectively and CORRECTLY when people are multitasking. Things get missed or forgotten. Important things sometimes. Sticking with the fast food analogy, you get your food home and then you discover that they forgot your fries! Or they forgot your drink. Or whatever. You asked for 10 salt packets and maybe they only put three in your bag or none at all. The fast food analogy is only one example. There are many, many, many examples in our society that I think highlight the negative impacts of multitasking and the lack of intelligence behind it. I believe it is more intelligent to focus on the task at hand, complete that task efficiently, thoroughly and correctly, and then move on to the next task. Would customers need to wait a little bit longer? Yes, they probably would. But ultimately, there would be much more customer satisfaction at the end of the day because they will have found the product and service to be of the upmost quality. This is why most people prefer when they go to a restaurant that their food be cooked to order. They have to wait a bit longer, but it’s worth it because the food is better and it’s hot! There are some fast food restaurants that understand this concept and apply it very well. “Five Guys And Fries” is one example. Anyway, to sum up, for many years I would beat myself up over my inability to multitask. But I stopped doing that because I have come to realize that putting 100% of my attention and focus into each task is actually a sign of higher intelligence.

    • @jessicapatton2688
      @jessicapatton2688 5 місяців тому +1

      The brain can only do one thing at a time. Multitasking is a myth. It’s quickly shifting from one task to another. That’s actually just more stress for the brain.

    • @irgendwer44
      @irgendwer44 5 місяців тому

      10. is not "multitasking" as you understand it.
      It's: Doing something, then doing something different, and then back to the first thing, or to the next - quickly switching through different tasks and know efficiently what to do, without feeling overwhelmed.
      To quote the video: "Bounce BETWEEN tasks without skipping a beat". He didn't said doing it the same time - which nobody really can, not effective at least.
      Because, like the other comment states: True Multitasking is a myth.
      Best example: Watching a film + any "brainless" activity on the phone = you didn't really watched the film. And most important, you couldn't FEEL the film.
      Other example: When you're working and some co-worker interupts you just for a few seconds with an other task, and you can go back to your tasks immediately.
      Not like my ex co-workers who didn't know where or who they are, and you truly saw how immense difficult it was for them - just because I gave them a 1minute-easypeasy task, which even a 7year old could do...

    At work I often say to myself "What am i thinking?" Because I tend to jump alot in my head with many scenarios or plans or future events. So Im always repeating stuff in my head to make sure i dont lose track of my thoughts. It helps set goals and get stuff done. I also avoid talking to people at work because they always wanna talk about something lame Like "Are you ready for the weekend?" what kind of plebian question is that? I see people that they dont wanna be seen as, what i mean is if they are insecure but they pretend they are alpha I can see right through them. Although I cannot bring it up to them because it would destroy their image. I have to be cautious when I subtly bring it up so they can do a little self reflection and maybe correct their selves. I don find it hard to socialize with people who only think about food and partying. And honestly Im glad im not like that but i wonder if they know they are not intelligent...

      If thats true, you might not just be high intelligent.
      You might have some kind of eidetic brain. Sheldon-Style. ;)
      Just because someone is veeery intelligent, he can't remember his 8 month old self. Or EVERY event of his life.
      I have a really good and effectively memory but I'm damn happy to not have EVERY memory in the brain as it happenend yesterday. It's more than enough for me that I remember more than most people.
      When you recall memories, doesn't the bad memories hurt like it happened yesterday?
      Isn't that too much, sometimes?
      I'm really curious. :)

    • @irgendwer44
      @irgendwer44 5 місяців тому

      And when you can recall everything, WHY are you even watching this video? You should already know, since almost the beginning, that you are high intelligent.
      What is intelligence even? Sheldon was very smart but also very dumb in much aspects.
      For a long time i felt superrior because "I am so intelligent" till I realized, that was so, so foolish.

    Well, this presentation describes a different type of “intelligent person”.
    Most of these concepts don’t really “hit the mark” for me.
    Perhaps its the entire idea that someone is wondering whether they are “secretly intelligent” is where it misses.
    I think that people who are “Smarter than the Average Bear” know who they are by the time they’re 7 to 10 years old …

    I like the video and agree with pretty much all of it, but I dont really like the thumbnail. I dont believe being introverted itself is inherently a trait of a smart person I honestly think that image is just being pushed to hold smart people back honestly. I mean, if you're smart you can figure out how to win over people generally and that will probably make you like engaging with people more, the more positive interactions you have. Thats not to say there arent smart people out there that didnt have the best social skills always, especially when young in school and all. It can be an isolating feeling to be so have so many ideas or interests in things most others dont. But I do believe smart people A LOT of the time do actually figure out how to navigate that and be actually even more socially successful.
    Albeit an anecdotal example, I'll use the valedictorian of my highschool back when I went. She was considered one of the "popular" girls to an extent. Threw all the best parties, friends with all the "popular" kids, yet she had the best grades, very much intelligent when youd talk to her I mean she could remember even little things your into and ask you how thats going and all. Just a social butterfly, very involved in the extra circulars and all that. Point is, she more resembled the left side of the thumbnail, she wasnt a misunderstood person that inst comfortable in groups. Point is, I dont think that is inherent to being smart. In some cases, some smart kids will but even they end up getting better almost always at navigating that. More in general feel like the image of the introvert, going hand in hand with being intelligent, can in some cases make intelligent people feeling this way just be comfortable with their antisocial l behaviour, almost wearing it as a symbol of their intelligence that may even otherwise be very real.
    I know i said a mouthful lol maybe a little longer than I intended to get the point across. Let me know what you think if you agree or disagree thats just something I've thought about for a while with the whole "awkward kid is always smart" or "introverts are smarter than social people" idea thats floated around. Maybe there are studies that show its more likely, but I think the popularization of introversion, justifed as being a sign of ones intelligence, if taken to the extreme only hurts smart people. Get out there and chat with people they aint that bad! And hey at the end of the day, it aint about what you know, its about who you know. If you cant get to know people, you probably aint gonna make it too far even if you're einstein himself!

    Well, the thing is, first of all I am too poor to buy the materials, I am no woodworker, and I came to the realization that it probably would be impossible to work on in, because it would not be stable xD

Blockage impacts blood flow throughput to brain. If the throughput is low it will initiate migraine. Frequency and length of an episode will be a reflection of blockage. Bless you all, dont let short-sighted people ever stop you from shining. Stay tuned for my next discovery.

    I have come to the conclusion that every person that I meet is both brilliant and not so brilliant. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Here's a question for some of you really neat people to ponder. Do you think that a really intelligent person could learn more from a less intelligent person or could a less intelligent person learn more from the really intelligent person. I guess that I could have said would learn, instead of saying could learn. Oh well. I do have a lot to learn.

    4. The gray-scale mindset: it is so true that the bkack/white reductionist view of most political activists today are causing so much harm to harmony in western society, and they are often self righteous completely failing to realize that they simply lack the ability to do politics because they have no insights into the nuances and complexity of social problems; to them, you are either on their team on not and it renders us unable to critize them at all.
