  • WARNING * switch off your breaker after riding /before washing!!
    In my opinion this is the BEST and SAFEST way to wash your Surron, Talaria Sting or any other e-bike for that matter.
    Many people will be saying you should remove the battery - I used to remove the battery but always had issues, since switching to this method never had a problem!
    Many people use a high power jet wash and snow foam cannon but this could lead to issues with water ingress! I personally never use high pressure water and do not find it necessary!
    Its just not worth the risk!

    Good video, thanks. I don't get quite so detailed but I can appreciate those who do. Couple tips for those who care: cut a 2'x1' piece of cardboard and hold it between the chain and wheel when you're cleaning and lubing the chain. Do it slowly, only on the bottom half of the chain while rotating the tire 360 degrees. This prevents the brake and tire from being contaminated. 2nd tip: if you do contaminate the brakes, clean them thoroughly with chlorinated brake cleaner or Acetone, then pull out the pads and sand them lightly with 400 grit sandpaper. 9 times out of 10 this will make them good again. You'll have to bed them in again but that beats replacing them. Also if you don't want to buy a dryer, just go for a quick fast ride and you'll get 90% of the same results. Take care lads!

    Nice Video, glad to see someone who is careful with their chain lube application.
    All the other youtube vidoes show people spraying it on sloppily and contaminating the brake disc!

    I watched your video first for tips.
    - I use my compressor and blew off any loose dirt and then used pressure washer on the wide spray not direct fine spray
    - Then used motorcycle safe soap in foam cannon(make sure it's not in the sun or i5 will dry fast!) prob use muc off motorcycle soap next time.
    - Rinsed off then use hand scrubber to get dirt off since last owner was a dirtbag and never cleaned.
    - used compressor to blow out any water inside bolts and tight spots that you can't see. If not your bolts or anything metal will rust out quickly.
    - once everything dried out I used muc off MO94 spray on all the hard to reach spots along with electronics to protect and prevent rust. They also sell ebike protector spray as well that cleans and protects any electronics on the bike. Highly recommend this.
    - somewhere in between all this I cleaned up the drive train with muc off drive train cleaner. Make sure to cover up your rotors and anything brake related or you'll contaminate and it'll squeak so bad they'll hear you down the street when your brake. Lubed up after with motul dry chain lube. Lubed each link connector.DONT JUST SLOPPILY SPRAY LIKE CRAZY. LUBE and then spin wheel slowly til you worked it all around chain and then lightly dab it with shop towel and give it 10-20mins to dry and you won't have lube flinging everywhere.
    Bike is super clean and starts up fine.

      Woah thanks for watching brother and sharing your method some good tips here the compressor is a nice touch! A leaf blower is a good alternative too!
      Being accurate and careful with lubricants is a must!
      Thank you for taking the time to share your tips! Hopefully you have seen some of my other content and riding videos!
      Ride on bro! 💪🏼🔥

    Thanks. It's great. Though i don't use a blower to pressure water into delicate palces. I rather use a strong vacuum cleaner to remove water around electric/sensitive areas...

    Great video very helpful! And I'm curious how many miles have u got on ur sur ron and what stuff have u needed to change and I'm looking for new brakes what do u recommend I heard magura aren't durable but hopes are better ?

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Рік тому

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment! My surron is on 3000 miles and my talaria is on 600 miles. Since owning the surron the battery BMS has been replaced once, and it has gone through front and back wheel bearings, the standard forks broke after about 1000 miles too. I have magura brakes on both bikes but they are extremely hard to bleed. I would reccomend instead you use TRP trail brakes or shimano saints!
      It has lots of upgrades now and is 1.5 inches taller than standard! In the next few weeks i will make a video showing all the upgrades on both bikes so check back soon or subscribe to see all the info when i post it!👍🏻

      @@stingyrogerr are they called Shimano Saint BR-M820? And do u know someone with them are they durable and really good stopping power ? And I currently have the kke forks I have the 2023 version hopefully the forks last long on mine as I mostly ride on street and I've done 450 miles and back brakes already need bleeding so that's the reason im getting new ones front and back and I'm thinking of getting new pegs too

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Рік тому +1

      Yes, shimano saint brakes M820, i have them on my downhill mountain bikes, they are much more powerful than the surron brakes. You can also use the hope V4 brakes they are good. Both bikes use marzocchi bomber 58 forks which feel much better but i most ride the woods so on the street i don’t think you will benefit.

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Рік тому

      I think the saints have slightly better performance but the hopes are better looking and heavier duty! At the end of the day they’re both the #1 brakes and go with what you like the look of best as their performance is very similar

      Always best to avoid spraying directly near connection areas and the motor, if you need to use a light spraying and use scrubbing to loosen it off

      Yes leave it to dry! Give it a few days in a warm place as it could be too cold and damp to dry out in the garage, if you can bring into house at room temp and leave for 3-4 days it should be good
