Chris was such a genuine, humble, respectful person. Such a shame 😣
Listening to him talk about the loss of Layne in the context of "the future imagined creative projects that could have happened, but didn't" really hits home. I so hope we get to hear the final SoundGarden album he was working on prior to his death.
Sad listening to Chris talking about the death of Layne and Andy now that he's gone :-(
ya its like watching that montreal interview were they bring up heroin.and at the end layne said "but i beat it man!i beat death.im imortal" :(
@@3zqx Indeed he did beat death at least four times. According to Layne's Mum his heart stopped five times due to an OD and start working again, cuz there's was someone for the rescue. Exept for the last time. Rip Layne, hops meet you afterlife💫
I know..Kurt, Layne then wtf...Chris Cornell. ,chester b on Chris's birthday.
Its all so damn sad..
I listen to them and just cry..so cathartic!
Poor Eddie V&. Jerry Kantrell & wives and Laynes poor mom..
She is such a nice lady...poor us too.
So sad..but they gave us all they had..and I am thankful for that
.
I am having the hardest time with Chris..he didnt have illicit drugs in system..
Adovin..i eat that for breakfast
Ill never understand suicide
@@kittylaflamme818 when you have darkness inside of you and it consumes you, you lose the will to live.
I can relate to what Chris said about listening to the Above album. I was about 14-15 when it came out and I guess still pretty naive to the gravity of Layne’s situation. Listening to it as an adult was heavy. It took me a long time to listen to and even longer to sing “wake up” without crying. Man I felt for him. Loosing Chris was just as tough. These guys were my heros. It still hurts. But it’s nice to see new footage of them every now and again. Thanks for that.
Was there ever more genuine people in music then these lost souls from this era? They cared about one another, encouraged one another, and supported one another... truly an amazing time.... we never knew how fortunate we were until one by one, they left us.
Cruel world
literally. they are all so special.
I miss layne and now chris and chester.
Lori Duchemin why do people put chester in the same category as layne and chris? Ive been seeing it...but I dont get it
@@OcelotDAD Bennington wasn't even in the same category as Cornell and Staley as a singer, but he did have his own fans. May he rest in peace.
Andrew Wood she be the first one mentioned then Layne
chris and chester are bestfriends. Chester is a Godfather of one of Chris kids.
We love you Chris, and we Of course Love you Layne + Mike #LSMS
That was one extremely intelligent dude. Almost like a sex symbol nerd or something but he most defiantly had a very high IQ. RIP CC
Wish he could still be here, but at least he had time on this world to be a father and husband. Layne would have been such a great father.
Really ...When in-between bums? maybe after drooling on himself for a hour waking to ..bbbbbbbbbaby needs to be fed.. The facts are this we all know people are overall good I'm sure he loved deeply but don't get it twisted drug addiction is a mother f#cker & while one is in the depts of it the drug is the only thing that maters it doesn't mater how much love is given or taken the drugs win every time all day everyday. I get the feeling you might have never seen exactly what a monster looks like up close, its not pretty..
Chris always ,always, always gave other fellow rockers / artists credit , he was never all about him...such a polite ,humble , gentleman...its something you dont get alot in a world of Me, Me, Me ..ultra cool..😎☮😘
God, I just love him so much 💔 such a great guy and tremendous loss
I remember one guy telling me he had been to so many concerts around the world but had mentioned and put Chris Cornell as one of the best singers he'd come across
God dammit...I really thought you would have been one of the guys that made it Chris. I really never thought things would end this way when you understood the pain of losing others so well. I wish you had someone there that night. If only you had someone you could talk to. I never thought you had so much pain with so much life still in you. I miss reading your vlogs and hearing these interviews.
I know how it feels to live so long with addiction. Nothing ever feels as good as it did before your addiction. You can spend years not doing it and just one day you relapse so you can feel something again. Then you find out even that doesn't even make you feel anything. Then nothing feels good...nothing. staying alive for others is hard. I get it. I just wish you could have done it for one more night.
Heroine is an abyss i wouldn't send my worst enemy into.. But as Layne put it.. "My pain is Self chosen".. 😔😶
Imagine a band of Seattle Death Legend they jamming together "Say hello to Heaven"
wow, thank you.
Andy, Kurt, brad, Layne, Scott, Chris- 5 of my hero’s committed suicide, “accidental suicide” or other doesn’t matter. They killed themselves in self destruction. It’s a hard realization to write this down, and then add the fact that these names aren’t everyone.
You even listed em in order. Damn shame, all of them!!!!
Except Kurt was murdered.
@@Boecafzdobu so was chris & chester
Anyone on this comment stream who has not suffered from anxiety has no idea about wanting to feel numb and not be sober. You can be a caring talented human being, but mental illness is hard to live with. The majority of artists abusing substances suffer from mental illness. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
miss Tembo ι нope αll ιѕ well🤍ѕтαy ѕтroɴɢ! #мαĸecнeѕтerproυd #loυdlove #ғυcĸdepreѕѕιoɴ
Never heard this, awesome
I love Andy! it’s so bittersweet what happened, we’d have no pearl jam however I’m sure Eddie would’ve gone on to do huge things anyhow 🤘🏽❤️✌️ love you 😍 Layne and Chris can’t believe this interview was done just over a year before Chris’s passing 😢😞 miss his voice I’m so glad I got to see soundgarden play in 2012 down here in Aus 🇦🇺😍 last ever show they did here. I wonder how MLB would’ve gone if Andy never passed? 😢 so many beautiful souls have grown their angel 👼 wings well before their time! Hope they’re all jamming it up together 🎶🎸🎤🤘🏽 R.i.P to all the greats love u all ♥️ grunge rock will live on in our hearts 💕 and souls 🕉 peace ✌️ love 💖 and empathy ☯️ peace out ✌️🤘🏽
3 great rock singers gone it sucks
I had to listen to the songs over and over to learn them. It was tough becuase I hadnt really paid attention to anyones music besides mine which are infinitely better than what my simp peers can do. So yeah this really forced me to think about someone besides Chris Cornell for once
In Heaven
The only big Seattle stud left from that time is Eddie Vedder and he's a transplant from Chicago and then San Diego. #1 Layne #2 Chris #3 Eddie #4 Kurt
twahlbrink0911 right and in that order.
Yes but look at what they gave us!!!
They gave it all...I. Am thankful for all of them...Kurt though not buyin suicide.
Lets not forget Andy Wood from Mother Love Bone..thered be no Eddie etc without him
*stares in Jerry Cantrell and Mark Lanegan* 🙃
@@kittylaflamme818 not true. There might not be a Pearl Jam if Andy hadn’t died, but there would still be an Eddie Vedder, made successful from his own innate talent, charisma, and intense drive and commitment to music.
Mother Love Bone kind of broke up. Andy wanted to do a solo record. He had talked about working with Kevin again. Pearl Jam probably would’ve still happened.
I’ve read a couple things where Stone kind of talked about this or implied that things weren’t going well with MLB before Andy’s death. They didn’t officially break up but they weren’t talking to each other much and hadn’t written any new music for months. Even if Andy had lived MLB probably wouldn’t have lasted. I also think Eddie Vedder would’ve become a successful musician whether PJ happened or not.
@@leinonibishop9480 yeah I think Vedder had what it took to make it regardless. Kinda like Dave Mustaine. Some guys are just way too talented.
This whole video is cool but sad as fuck! Knowing what we know now!
1:50 😥
Pierre Robare
is vedder still alive?
Seriously?
@@daphnerockzaic9096 lmao
*Ah ya..they released “Gigaton” in March 2020.*
yeah considering Eddie never had drug addiction he might take drug in one point of his life but Eddie Vedder dump drugs.
He’s still very much alive and active. Pearl Jam is currently on tour for their latest album released in 2020.
Are you from seattle? Sounds like you know these people on a personal basis
Me? Nope. Just a fan.
