    Many of the reviews i've watched had problems with clipping.
    Seems very unfortunate. However this sounded good

    How do you think this compares to the AVX system? AVX is limited to lav/mic transmitters, so I see the benefit of the XSW-D additional transmitters. Any other major points of comparison between the two systems?

    • @andrewhkim
      @andrewhkim 5 років тому +1

      the one thing that bothers me is the AVX 19ms vs XSW-D 3.9ms latency. It's quite noticeable and makes it annoying to sync when mixing other setups

    • @brianhawkins
      @brianhawkins 5 років тому

      I like the price and reduced latency of this new system, but the AVX has adjustable gain and a built-in limiter to keep the signal from peaking. I haven't seen any word on if this new system has this feature.

      @@andrewhkim ...but theoretically in a one man crew scenario with one mic it makes my life more affordable. is there anyone here who can speak to the audio quality differences? guess i would expect the "auto" feature to be a sticking point for upcoming reviewers.

    • @BandH
      @BandH  5 років тому +2

      The AVX is a step-up, but remember this new system is offered as Sennheiser's entry-level product. There is no auto or manually settable peak limiter: Audio adjustment range 45 dB, adjustable in 5-dB steps. >Mark

      Comparing specs between the new XSW-D Lavalier set (with the ME2-II lavalier mic) and the AVX (with the same ME2-II lav mic):
      XSW-D LAVALIER SET ($599)
      en-au.sennheiser.com/xsw-d-lavalier-set
      Audio frequency response 3.5 mm Jack/XLR: 80 - 18,000 Hz
      Audio frequency response 6.3 mm Jack: 10 - 18,000 Hz
      Signal-to-noise ratio: ≥ 106 dB
      Latency: < 4 ms
      AVX-ME2 SET ($14,99 list, $699 street)
      en-au.sennheiser.com/avx
      Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz
      Signal-to-noise ratio: > 90 dB(A)
      Latency: 19 ms
      although B&H Photo, for some reason, specs the same AVX-ME2 SET at:
      bhpho.to/2b4pwkw
      Frequency Response: 30 Hz - 20,000 Hz
      So it looks like there are pros and cons to each:
      XSW-D
      PRO: Significantly better S/N ratio, less expensive
      CON: Worse frequency response with ME2-II lav mic, low latency
      AVX
      PRO: Better frequency response with ME2-II lav mic, auto-leveling
      CON: Worse S/N ratio, more expensive, higher latency
      The auto-leveling of the AVX is nice for no-hassle good signal levels, but the 19 ms latency is almost a dealbreaker for me, especially if you have multi-mic setups (mixing AVX and non-AVX), because you will have almost a slapback echo effect. The 19 ms latency is about half a frame of video (in typical situations), but that might be acceptable if it were the only microphone used in the recording.

    Answer me please, do *Sennheiser e945* can become wireless mic with this : Sennheiser XSW-D ??

    • @BandH
      @BandH  2 роки тому

      Yes indeed Mao! With this set, adding the XSW-D XLR female plug-on transmitter allows you to connect a dynamic handheld microphone for situations when the mic needs to be shared between speakers or passed around in the audience. >Mark

    This looks great! Does anyone know if the ME-4 cardioid lav mic would work with this pack?
    I've been eyeing some new microphones for my videos, which usually involve me talking behind the camera pointing at a 3D printer. Those printers can be loud, so I'm concerned with an omnidirectional mic picking up that sound. I was looking at the Shure FP15 wireless packs combined with their 185 cardioid mic, but if an ME-4 cardioid would work with this that would save me ~$150.

      The ME-4 will work fine as it uses the same 7.5V operating voltage. >Mark

    Hi, little question: I’m in AV world. My usecase would be some times lav mic on camera but sometimes may be small stage use with 3 sets. May by buying 4. If I pair all tx with all rx this is great for videoshooters as mentioned. Can I „unpair“ or reset devices? If not i would have to turn on the sets in the right order in case I have for example a mixer with mic 1 in input 1 etc.

    • @marksteinberg8047

      The receiver and transmitter are pre-paired at the factory so when you turn on the system, it works-without the need for any additional button pressing. Please contact Sennheiser directly regarding un-pairing: techcomm@sennheiser.com >Mark

    Do you have any ideas on the settings with Canon 70d and 80 d cameras?
    With the previous generation, Sennheiser Wireless kits (G2 and G3), you set the sensitivity on
    Canon cameras (70d, 80d) down to just 1 click above zero so Canon's preamps
    didn't kick in and clip. Do you have any idea if it is the same with this?

    Thanks for the video. How does this mic setup compare with something like the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro B2?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  3 роки тому

      Plug it in, power it up, and you're immediately up and running, streamlining your setup so you can concentrate on delivering your message to your audience with confidence.
      Plug the compact receiver directly into the XLR input of your audio mixer or PA, and you're ready to turn the system on. The receiver cannot be phantom powered by a mixer. It needs to be charged ahead of time or used while being charged via USB.
      The 1-button, 1-LED concept with single-button interface and status indicator effortlessly handles power and linking tasks for you.
      The receiver and transmitter are pre-paired at the factory so when you turn on the system, it works-without the need for any additional button pressing.
      (For optimal results, use of the XSW-D is recommended in environments with limited Wi-Fi / 2.4 GHz traffic.) >Mark

    thank you for the effort and the sharing. i have long been a doubting thomas when it comes to wireless and interference especially in urban environments (i work out of new york city). i have have often used the sennheiser g3s and radio interference was very hit or miss. i wonder if digital 2.4 would be any better. i am an appreciative subscriber. thumbs up.

    Does it get interference from other wireless mics on stage like Shure 2.4ghz

    • @BandH
      @BandH  3 роки тому

      This wireless microphone system has excellent RF interference rejection. Easy 2.4 GHz Digital Wireless:
      Nothing ruins a take like hearing the weather report coming through your mic. Unlike traditional analog wireless systems, the XSW-D digital system operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, away from interruptions and dropouts caused by TV and radio channel interference.
      Thanks to Sennheiser's channel allocation and interference management technology, the system selects the best operating frequency and automatically switches to a clean channel to provide reliable transmission at a distance up to 250' line of sight. >Mark

      The receiver's output is via an XLR-Male connection which is line level. An appropriate adapter and attenuation device would be required depending upon the mobile device being used. Something likje this is designed for smartphones:
      Saramonic Blink 500 B3 Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System for Lightning iOS Devices (2.4 GHz)
      B&H # SABLINK500B3 - bhpho.to/3c8F0Bn or Saramonic Blink 500 B5 Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System for USB Type-C Devices (2.4 GHz)
