    Saw your promotion in the comments of some videos once or twice today. Decided to check it out as Mat is my favorite athlete. I can relate a lot to him and I have to say, good job on the montage. It's awesome. I was not disappoint.

      Thank you! Yeah I don't really like the concept of promoting on other people's videos but that's the only thing I can do for people to watch it. I don't want money or subscribers I just want Fraser's fans to see it.

    Cross-fit games or Olympic Decathelon. Which is harder?

    • @byReZio
      @byReZio  7 років тому +20

      Physically and mentally harder? Probably the Crossfit Games.
      Technically harder and harder to win? Probably the Olympic Decathlon.
      Both contains amazing athletes for sure.

    • @callsofscv
      @callsofscv 7 років тому +1

      Agreed with @byReZio

    • @wangchungman14
      @wangchungman14 7 років тому +2

      one of the requirements for olympic decathlon is being super fast. College level D1 sprints and mile. Pretty much if you don't have that you won't be competitive. Most of the other events you can learn the technique and what not. Technically speaking anyone could become a crossfit champion because you can really work from the ground up and its a lot of mental strength. Not to insult either side but if you take an average joe, you can train him to have high endurance, pain tolerance, and lift heavy. You can't pick up anyone off the street and have them eventually run a 10 second 100 with a 4 min mile

    • @byReZio
      @byReZio  7 років тому +4

      wangchungman14 I agree completely, that's why I said it's way harder to win it. The Crossfit Games are becoming harder to win because of the amount of people training for it increasing every year and the level of competition with it. But as we saw, it took 3-4 years of "Crossfit training" for Mat Fraser to win the Games. But it takes way longer for anybody to achieve the level of an Decathlon athlete at a Olympic level. I still think in themselves, the Crossfit Games are harder mentally and physically because they're all completely wrecked at the end of the week. It's dense, long and grueling. But I agree it's easier to train somebody to have pain tolerance, endurance and strength, even though I think it will become more and more difficult to achieve the Games athlete level because the standards and requirements will increase each year. People will have to lift more, run longer, faster, and one thing that will have to increase is the difficulty of the gymnastics movements. A lot of strict movements will be required like free standing handstand push ups, strict muscle ups for reps, ring handstand push ups (with better form than at the 2016 Games of course) etc...

    • @callsofscv
      @callsofscv 7 років тому +1

      I would say they are two different sports. Decathlon tests specific events and people have trained for them since they were very young (because its been around a lot longer). Fitness conceptions like the CrossFit Games are relatively new and CrossFit puts a lot of emphasis on endurance running mashed with basic pulling/pushing gymnastics and Olympic lifting. I think in the future we will see more variation (strongman esk workouts) at the Regional level. The Games is only 1 weekend long, it tests multiple domains, but one of the hardest things about the CrossFit Games season in general is the Open. It doesn't test the fittest athletes because the workouts have to be constricted to a small amount of movements. But it is a money maker for CrossFit HQ to support the Games, so they continue to run it every year. However, participation has been dropping over the years as the competition gets tougher and tougher and people dont see a value in competing anymore. We may already be seeing the beginning of the end of the CrossFit Games. It may become another version of Worlds strongest man.

      Froning vs Fraser in 16', Froning lost every time when the two were compared. In the Open 15.5 workout, Regional Snatch Ladder workout, and Games Pegboard Fran. Granted that's 3 tests, but at various parts throughout the year. All the evidence suggests that Mat had a far greater desire to win than Froning did. For Froning it's another day at work to compete. He beats who he needs too and he does not have to beat Fraser to win the Affiliate Cup.
