I had an endoscopy today, went in very anxious but overall it wasn’t bad! The iv needle was the “worst part” but didnt hurt for me. I was put all the way to sleep & woke up with a popsicle! No sore throat or anything 😇🙏🏽.. moral of the story Don’t be scared!!
I had mine today. It was not painful, but it was so discomforting. I was relaxed at first, but after a few minutes, I started getting choked like I want to vomit. Overall I think it is rather unpleasant, but not painful.

Before they were just a nice sleep and I would wake up wondering if the procedure had even been done. The last one I woke up in pain and it hurt for days from my stomach all the way to my Neck. Since then, I have been short of breath and it feels like air is coming from the middle of my throat. Like a leak. Of course the doctor won’t admit to anything. But I have felt horrible since.
@@WalturdTheCat I'm better, but still have issues. They are hard to describe, but I still have the same issue as before as far as finding certain foods or pills hard to swallow. I frequently feel like air is leaking out in the middle of my throat. Symptoms are so bizarre, it is hard to really explain. All I know is I don't plan on getting another one of these procedures.
Which medicine were you taking? I’m scared of the endoscopy but I also want to get checked out because I’ve been taking naproxen and etoricoxib in the past.

@@iAdzii she did just fine. She said they brought her in and the anesthesia team was very nice. They all introduced themselves and put the guard thing in her mouth and started giving her medicine. The last thing she remembers was them saying "you're doing great honey" and then she woke up in recovery
It's a breeze. Won't feel a thing. You will lie down on the bed and they will put a plastic guard in your mouth. Next thing after that you will awake after 15 minutes. It's the anticipation that makes it dreadful but as of the procedure it's a piece of cake. You'll be fine
I went for one today but got panic when they spray into my mouth it was ok.on gor.a.minute but sudden panic and i just got up and told them not to do it

I got anesthesia and at the room the doctor asked some questions.. then another nurse injected the sleeping injection and gave me a mouth cap thingy.. I don't remember what happened after that but the only thing I felt is that there something in my throat. Then when the doctor took endoscope out I immediately woke up. It didn't hurt but I was way too dizzy now I'm home and it just feels like a sore throat, nothing much..

I didn't react to the sedation or numbing. I was awake and couldn't breathe and couldn't stop gagging. It was fucking awful. If you are getting a gastroscopy, I encourage you to make sure the sedation and numbing WORK, and if not, push for GA.
Same here just went tru' the whole process yesterday, i keep on gasping, gulping & *" the vomiting 🤮 kind reaction, tge the weird thing the sedations works only after it ends, & i fall asleep, tday my throat hurts, likes having sore throat syndrome, but i pressumes different ppls experiences varies, not anxiously waiting for my biopsy results.. I almost passed away during the procedure, I couldn’t even hold up for 30sec, I kept on struggling because my breathe got confiscated, they saw the way I was struggling so they had to take it off my throat, and I told them there’s no way I could have breathe in and out because i am having a rigid chest, both my lungs the back of my throat are all extremely rigid, however they kept on insisting I can do it, that I’m not a baby, that even a 1yr old can do it, and I said to them that my body is differ, I know what I am saying, if you guys were to be in my shoes you will also know whatsup
Me too I woke up part way through the procedure but with the mouth guard in my mouth I could not communicate this to the staff. I was crying oh man it was horrible feeling the surgeon chope pieces around like that then finally the Aneathtethist asked " is she crying?" one nurse was like ah yeah and he said well i better sedated her give her some more fentanyl. Omg four days later I still cannot eat right, the reason I was having the Endoscopy in the firs place my pain is excruciating nothing is combatting the pain. Any suggestions?

Is there any chance of fatal infection like HIV, hepatitis b, c. Becos it is not possible to sterilize or disinfect whole scope while cleaning, Just after procedure I got high fever and weaknes
No. That’s what a surgery technician is paid great money for. They sterilize all tools. No way infectious diseases would transfer. If you have fever after the procedure you’re supposed to go to er. It’s a symptom of the anesthesia
Does H.pylori gets transferred through this? Does endoscopy doing in the small age can cause long term negative effects although it went normal during the procedure ???

Last one i had 11 years ago, i gagged the whole time and bruised my esophagus. I have one on July 11th and im so very nervous. Today my daughter didendoscopy in harini hospitals in vijayawada they gave anesthisia to her that she dont know pain but she is so drowsiness as she had liver problem she admitted in abhaya and american hospital ehich are in Vijayawada they told go to harini hospital as she is in her last stage

Well what they did for me was they put Me under Anesthesia to knock me out and gave me some relaxing medicine to relax my body.The procedure it's self doesn't hurt but after the procedure u might feel a little discomfort in your stomach but it will go away after a couple days.

When I looked at the sheet(s) they gave me afterwards it said 'sedated with 50 ug (micro-grams) of Fentanyl'. I can confirm Fentanyl knocks you out totally and would recommend the sedation route if you need the procedure to be done.

the only discomfort part was the strapping me down & putting in the guard, I was crying but then was put to sleep in a snap!
Guys I’m a person with major anxiety and it’s literally a 10 minute procedure they put you to sleep this was a PIECE OF CAKE

Were you sedated the last time? That usually helps to reduce the gagging.
