  • We love Michael Singer’s work. As long as he and UA-cam allow us to post these videos, we will.
We do not receive ad revenue from these videos, but UA-cam may.
If you would like to learn more about Michael Singer’s work, here are a few suggestions: - Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday, he releases talks at www.tou.org. - Every Sunday, Monday & Thursday night, he gives a live talk at his Temple of the Universe in Alachua, Florida. Anyone can attend for free.
He’s written several books. They are phenomenal, even the ones written in the seventies. (We will receive a commission if you purchase books through these links.)

If you’re wondering what Mickey’s saying at the beginning and end of each talk, it is:
Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
Thank you for visiting. Peace, my friend.

Love this image too! The first time I encountered Michael’s work, July 2017, I was sitting on a beautiful beach in Mexico reading Untethered Soul, the week before I started what would become the worst job experience of my life. And now that it’s finally over, I’m back again listening to Michael’s work. I’m just the little guy in the throne on the top of my head. Much love and gratitude to you for sharing these works. 🙇🩵⚡️

    One of my Favorites
    Summary
    Sat Nam 🕉
The teachings discussed revolve around the concept of "empty mind," a state in which thoughts cease to manifest, leading to a pure, reflective consciousness. Empty mind is not something actively achieved; rather, it naturally occurs when the forces that generate thoughts subside. Thoughts are seen as wavelets in the ocean of mind, arising and falling back into the field of mental energy. By remaining centered in the self and not getting involved in these thoughts, one can begin to perceive the underlying forces causing them. As these forces diminish, the mind becomes still, reflecting the true nature of the self, leading to deeper spiritual realization.
    ### Detailed Outline:
    #### I. Introduction to the Purest Teachings
    - The essence of deep teachings, particularly in Buddhism.
    - The root of all teachings is fundamentally the same.
    - The concept of "empty mind" as the purest form of teaching.
    #### II. Understanding Empty Mind
    - Definition: Empty mind is a state where thoughts cease to manifest.
    - Thoughts arise from the field of mind, like waves in the ocean.
    - The nature of thoughts as wavelets of mental energy.
    #### III. The Process of Thought Manifestation
    - Thoughts are not self-generated but arise from vibrations in the mind.
    - The analogy of thoughts as waves in the ocean, influenced by external forces.
    - Empty mind is achieved when these forces subside.
    #### IV. The Stillness of the Mind
    - When the mind is still, it becomes a reflective mirror.
    - The reflection in this mirror is the self.
    - The purified mind is no different from the self, according to Ramakrishna.
    #### V. The Natural State of Empty Mind
    - Empty mind occurs naturally when there is no need for thoughts.
    - The role of external forces, like the moon causing waves in the ocean, in thought manifestation.
    - Empty mind is devoid of these external influences.
    #### VI. The Practice of Achieving Empty Mind
    - The futility of trying to fight thoughts.
    - The importance of understanding the causation behind thoughts.
    - How thoughts are manifestations of underlying vibrations.
    #### VII. The Importance of Objectivity
    - The need to observe thoughts without getting involved in them.
    - Seeing all thoughts as waves, without differentiation.
    - The deeper understanding of the forces before thoughts manifest.
    #### VIII. Experiencing the Underlying Forces
    - The practice of witnessing the energies before they become thoughts.
    - The role of fear and desire in generating thoughts.
    - The importance of not getting involved with thoughts to maintain empty mind.
    #### IX. The Final Stages of Empty Mind
    - Empty mind as a natural state, not something to be forced.
    - The mind without thoughts as a reflection of the self.
    - The infinite nature of empty mind, leading to the exploration of consciousness.
    #### X. The Exploration of Self
    - The transition from exploring the mind to exploring consciousness.
    - The deeper questions of self and existence.
    - The connection between empty mind and the root of divinity.
    #### XI. Practical Contemplation of Empty Mind
    - The simplicity of contemplating empty mind.
    - The practice of sitting in meditation with the intention of experiencing empty mind.
    - Realizing the futility of generating thoughts and embracing the state of empty mind.
This format will be used for all future MSS requests.

Quite interesting, not sure if he mentions this as I’m just few minutes in. But he saying thoughts are like waves of the ocean. I guess that makes sense when we call them beta waves theta waves delta waves..

How does one manage to have empty mind if we work, especially in jobs that require lots of thinking? It's almost mandatory that when we work we have to devote ourselves to making thoughts about how we'll get our work done, especially if we have to articulate to others how we are planning to do things. Is there a middle ground for the times in life when we have to use thoughts, or do you just enjoy silence when you can?

Our brains are like computers. They are tools to be used and it's absolutely okay to have thoughts that are working to accomplish a task. When we personalize the thoughts to make us feel better inside, that's when problems arise.
