    24:29 the point is to be wide, wide awake and aware of your total sensory input without confusing it with the symbolic world of words and concepts

    • @shawnrobinson4050
      @shawnrobinson4050 8 місяців тому +1

      Put that in simpler terms that a child could understand

    • @hansenmarc
      @hansenmarc 8 місяців тому +3

      @@shawnrobinson4050 A baby experiences the world with the same five senses you do. The difference is that a baby doesn’t attach words and concepts to what it experiences because it has not yet learned words and concepts. The point is to experience the world and not confuse the direct sensory experience with the words and concepts our minds attach to experience. (This is sometimes said as: don’t confuse the moon with the finger pointing at the moon.) When you see a tree, it’s easy to ignore yet another unremarkable tree because we already know all about what trees are, how they look, and how they function. What would the experience be if instead you didn’t know what a tree was and were seeing one for the first time? When you experience with a beginner’s non-conceptual mind, experience becomes incredibly more rich and vivid. It’s like being born again into a world endlessly filled with fascinating things.
      “The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.”
      ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

    Hey Mark, I just want to say I’m grateful for you putting all this audio out. I know that you are trusted source of actual lectures from your father. I came across a tik-tok clip of a computer saying things in your father’s voice which I don’t believe he actually said (nothing slanderous or anything). It’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between an actual talk and a manufactured one.

    I bought a t shirt with this marvelous photo of your dad in his office and the caption “ Did you forget to dance”
    I thought I bought a yellow shirt but it turned out to be pink. I wore it and got funny looks is I am ninety. So went home and folded your shirt and framed it with
    only the picture of
    and his office showing. So when I walk my
    man’s den Alan Watts greets me.
    me and reminds me dance in all my activities.

    The rope with Acalanatha or Fudo as he says it is to lead others through illusion. ❤😊 Literally used to be my favorite figure in all Buddhism for a while. His sword is the diamond-bladed sword of truth. I loved that later in Minecraft you could wield a diamond sword and diamond armor which had enchanted fire-resistance 😊 ❤️‍🔥👁️

    By 10:45 Not everyone is like that, only where you are and what you see. Other people don't go out of their way to exploit people and it becomes balanced. But omg he is so angry its awful. Can people just deal with their anger, they try to hide with a veil, it doesn't work? Including the energy people, can see right through it. And stop having a go at others under the guise of revealing "truth" deal with your issues first, before you try and deal with the world including other religions and nations.
