The Bodyguard soundtrack is Whitney in her vocal prime.
I actually think her vocal prime was slightly before the Bodyguard era (more like 1990 I’m Your Baby Tonight/All The Man That I Need era). Her tone lowered slightly on Bodyguard, But this was definitely her “performance” prime. It was the height of her career and some of her very best songs came out 1992-1994.

Bryce agreed. 1990/1991 was her at her A++++ standard. Power, clarity, confidence, emotion, stage performance and everything was at the top of its game. Her voice had a tiny bit of rasp and not as much connection between her registers by 1992. Still, it’s like going from an A++ to an A+ grade

Naw. That I Have Nothing Medley from the AMAs was transcendent.
She didn't just sing this, she performed the hell out of it! she really goes to that place where those lyrics came from, truly a great singer. She also did a great job in the Bodyguard movie along with Kevin Costner, and what a soundtrack! Whitney in her prime is in a league of her own.
Whenever Whitney sang live she never went by the studio version. At least I never knew her to. This is a recorded version.

I think it was the Label which wanted her to sustain the high notes but Whitney was more about resonance in her belting which I loved. Sure miss her. You know I saw her death a few years before she died. Each year I would pray the dream wouldn't come true.

When I saw “The Bodyguard” (in the theater 👵🏽😂), “I Have Nothing” was by far my favorite song in the movie.
Kevin Costner is actually the reason she was in this movie. Don't recall all the details, but the lore was that he prevented production from starting until she was available to star in it. Then she did the soundtrack and it turned out to be one of the most legendary movie soundtracks ever created. Numerous #1 hits.
He was one of the biggest stars of the early 90s.
I need to go watch the movie "The Bodyguard" again. Kevin Costner is an amazing actor, and Whitney did great in the movie. And the soundtrack to the movie.....just....good Lord! 🔥

Whitney will always be special to us and to me. Personally, I grew up with my Mom listening to her all the time while I listened to Mariah. And over time I fell in love with her voice and music. Whitney Houston is one of the most talented female music artists and her vocal abilities are amazing. She has a powerful, beautiful, and magnificent voice. Mariah Carey has a creative and magnificent vocal ability & voice. Celine Dion has the most angelic voice and vocal ability out the 3. These 3 females are the most talented female music artists, but Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston have the most good hits. They all sing remarkably well, especially when they are not overdoing it. Whitney’s 80’s album is the best. Mariah has a number of good albums from the 90’s all the way to early 2000’s. I would also add Christina Aguilera to this powerhouse trio. Her first album was the best. Gwen Stefani and Janet Jackson are talented as well but they cannot hit the high notes. They can still sing well with their pretty voices. Music and Singers these days are not talented like the ones back then. I listen to all kinds of music and I notice that music and singers from the 90’s and before are the best. We need talented music artists and good music to come back.

Josh Groban has the most powerful, beautiful, amazing, angelic, and pleasant male voice ever. There is another version of “The Prayer” sung by Celine Dion and another talented music artist, Andrea Bocelli. I love the one with Josh Groban more. These two men are globally well known. Michael Buble, Luther Vandross, Babyface, Peabo Bryson, Bobby Hatfield from Righteous Brothers singing Unchained Melody live, and JC Chasez from NSYNC (check him out singing I Promise You, Sailing, and GOD Must Have Spent A Little More Time on You.). These men are some of the most talented male music artists with beautiful voices and vocals. Michael Jackson is of course the most talented and exceptional music artist of all but those men above have the best vocals and voices in my opinion.
