    I got a Spyder X Pro too. I learned that it makes a big difference to have identical monitors on your desk. I have 2 monitors and the difference between the 2 is unsettling

    Thank you so much Nathan. This is a big help. I have an old Spyder calibrator and looking into buying a new one. Your vid is a big help. I clicked like and subscribed also.

    Thanks the vid and the reminder that I need to get in this. I used to calibrate religiously once upon a time, but along came windows 10 and my calibrator is no longer compatible (yes, it’s been THAT long!! Lol). I’ll give one of these a try. Happy shooting!!

    Great video, interesting product. I seem to have the same question as everyone else; is it possible to calibrate 2 different models of monitors to look the same? Cheers!

    Hey mate, thank you for this. So to get my Mac & Samsung monitor the same colour I just do this process on both ?

      Most often one monitor is used for editing/review, the other for file mgmt or other. If for some reason you need to see an image on both monitors at the same time, then perhaps, but you should contact their customer support first, here's a link: spyder-support.datacolor.com/hc/en-us

    I have this device and I'm glad you made this video because it seems like I loose my color profiles from plugging and unplugging monitors. Not sure

      Thanks! I'm not sure why you are plugging/unplugging monitors...it sounds like a potentially damaging thing to do...assuming you're "hot swapping" (plugging/unplugging while powered on). If I'm reading that correctly, I wouldn't recommend that in any circumstance. You can though select "Load Calibration" from the Spyder menu in the toolbar.

      @@NathanCoolPhoto I meant that I use an old power switcher for 4 monitors so I can have the screens off that are not in use. I'm not sure if the Spyder software knows to load the calibration to my monitors unless I have them switched on as the computer boots up. I just know I need to do the process for all monitors again and am glad you are reminding me to use my Spyder 5😂

    Hi Nathan. Great video. I have 2 monitors, 1 is a BenQ 1080 and the other is a HP 4K and they both look very different. If i do a calibration would they look much the same as when i print i have to lighten it or it prints to dark. Would this also help?

    Very nice video. How much often is recommended to calibrate screen in printing business?

      Thanks! I think they recommend every few months, their software has reminders.

    Hey Nathan, Thanks for the great video. Do you happen to know whether this calibrator will work with HDR monitors?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! The bigger issue could be why you're using an HDR monitor for editing, since what you're seeing is not how clients would see your images...thus, defeating the purpose for calibration as well?

    Silly question maybe but, I have a Ben Q monitor plugged into my laptop. During setup do I select laptop option since the laptop is the computer device or desktop since I am not using the laptop screen? Hope the question makes sense!

    So what if you have two monitors, like people with laptops? can you set a profile for each monitor or can you only use it on one?

    • @Dracconus
      @Dracconus Рік тому

      I know this question is old, but yes, you can just name the profiles differently, for instance, on my desk I have an ultrawide and a regular 16:9.
      I name the profiles "LG Ultrawide" and "LG Ultragear" so that I know which is which, then you can assign the color profile using the advanced display options in windows, or the spyder utility.

    I have a terrible time getting colors to match what I see on my monitor when I order prints! They come back dark and dull with a green cast. I am willing to purchase this item, but am a little scared it won't help me. I have an Alienware laptop. Will I have good luck getting colors to match prints I order, and is the customer service from Spyder easy to get help from? TIA!

      The best advice I can give you is to buy it, try it, and if it doesn't work, return it. I've been using these for years for all our workstations, and wouldn't rely on pro work without it. I'd suggesting getting it through Amazon for free and easy returns, here's a link: amzn.to/3Y3ZqT8

    Hey Nathan, I just updated to Big Sur OS and I have the Spyder Pro X. When I try to calibrate, in the process when I select the sensor Spyder X, it always switches back to "none". I can't go any further because it's not recognizing the sensor. Any suggestions?

      Hi Angie, I'm a PC person so I don't have any Mac guidance on this. You might want to reach out to Datacolor, I'm sure they've seen this and likely have a workaround.

    Do you have any tips? Durring calibration I keep getting an error. "CalibrateG.iterateWP-SetWhitepointLUT Ruturned err = 999" Google doesn't seem to be helpfull...
