I actually like the look of this one. Looks like a comic book version of Mando like how SH Boba Fett looked to me. I can accept that. At least that’s what I hope SH was going for lol.
After this i'd tell people, just get the black series, and if you REALLY need a floating crib for The Child buy the $15 mandalorian toy with the ride that comes with a floating crib and maybe a longer stand and it'd still probably cost less than the sh figuarts

I hope he doesn’t change his armour much more than this. I like this version. As far as I can tell he has some different leg parts in Season 2. But hopefully that’s as far as it goes. Although it would make sense if he changed every bit of armour to Beskar and then made no more upgrades after that.
I don't think it'll happen anytime soon but I wouldn't be surprised if he paints the Beskar in some way. They're going to milk his armor with toy sales and there is only so much difference they'll get with the base design here to get people wanting to buy more

I can’t wait for ig-11 to come out this month! Figuarts better not screw that one up like they have with mando. Although promo pictures have it looking amazing!
Bought it anyway... and i agree "overengineered BULLSHIT" is a very accurate conclusion. It is nice that you have all these posing options, but that is worthless if you are scared to touch the thing because it WILL be falling apart and you got the 20 different parts in a box somewhere else anyway. I ripped the cape off because it just looks weird, starting from under the chestplate, everything is modular, but not the damn cape, well that isn't going back on, ordered a cape from Etsy instead. With the jetpack on he is also a bit back heavy which limits posing options or he'll just fall over, and there are no holes in the shoes so you can't put him on a Stand either. After fighting with this thing for 3 hours i now have a much higher appreciation for the ease of use with the Black Series. If something is iffy with the Black Series figs it is ONE thing you got to deal with, not FIVE.
It is so odd how the helmet sometimes looks way too small and other times it looks just right. I could be wrong but I think from the waist up he's pretty good but something about the legs throws it all off. I'm so torn on whether to get this figure!
Crazy you post this, I'm rewatching The Mandalorian as I type and I'm thinking "yup, that SHF head is definitely small" then I go pick it up and it looks okay. I think you're right, big feet and maybe long legs?
I keep seeing people shit on this and I just got mine finally a few days ago. All I can say is I really love it and the paint job looks good on beskar Mando. I do still wish I'd gotten a Mafex one as well just for the accessories.
I think it would have been easier to make the child with different pre-posed bodies and swappable heads. You could have a sitting down body, a lying down body, a being held body and a standing body with interchangeable arms for holding stuff and using the force. Then 3 or 4 alternate heads to put on whichever body you want.
it just feels that baby yoda shoulda just been an accessory instead of a separately sold figure. this was also an issue with the black series, though they are releasing an ultimate edition type package that has mando with baby yoda.
Great, solid review. I have been on an SHF kick lately & almost bought this, but now I feel like I can wait just a bit longer. Maybe even opt for the HotToys versions.
I just got the Black Series build-up pack and I think the helmet on that one looks the best out of the ones we've gotten. Also Din's face isn't as bad depending on the angle (it's the hair that looks terrible)
Are you planning to order the Star Wars MAFEX No.129 The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) figure, asking since I don’t own the SH figarts version but thinking of pulling the purchase trigger on it
I think the new accessories for this mando is what sale it for me along with the paint job, I don't really mind no paint shading because tamashii doesn't do paint shading anymore in all their toy lines. And whenever they did paint shading they weren't very good at it, those early dbz shaded figures were ugly as hell. I'm probably gonna wait for a review of the mafex mando before I buy it, because I don't trust mafex's qc issues for the price point, also from promo pics of the mafex version the torso look too long. Along with not to many accessories for the price point which is more than the figuarts verison on most sites.
Oh, Robo...I'm sorry but your frustration made me chuckle today. And not the best pair of figures, I'm afraid. I look forward to your next review. Stay safe.
Huh! You frightened me so much with this Halloween figure at the beginning! Oh wait...so this is how Baby Yoda looks like without his clothes on? Poor child...
Well, maybe in another 50 years or so...then he will be able to use the shower himself, brush his teeth, use the toilet...as I say as a parent: it gets better with every single day. In no time he will ride a speeder bike, swing a lightsaber like nobody's business...he will be good training for you, Luke. Maybe you also have to learn a lot?
For the baby cloths, just glue the donuts to the cloth. I think I loved both the figures, the one thing I did not like would be just the cloth of cape.
it does look really good, but that engineering is crazy. Like they added too much when it wasn't needed like with those boosters and all the added parts for the holster, I feel like they were just trying to bump up the price with all that.
I think you hit the nail on the head. This figure's good points make it so much more "tolerable" than the original. It's by no means perfect, but with the Mafex still unreleased and its overall lack of accessories, this will probably remain the best 1:12 Mando, overall. Great job as always, Robo!
It's a shame that these SHF deliveries on the Mando are so frustrating. I'm a huge fan of SH Figuarts, and have been collecting Dragon Ball, Kamen Rider, and Sailor Moon for a long time. Oh well, this just makes me even happier that I didnt drop the dollars on the SHFs. Im even more looking forward to my MAFEX Beskar Mando this Christmas :D
I hate to say it but... I used to really love SH Figuarts but I now think too many of their new figures bear far too many microscopic and easy to loose accessories and have an unnecessarily complicated engineering. The new Black Series Mando is sweet and almost perfect. I'd never dare to go out with this SH Figuarts figure to take some pics because I'd probably loose something while trying to keep it standing. Black Series Mando and Mission Fleet Child (in his floating crib) are my galactic Lone Wolf and Cub of choice.

That child intro is something I cannot unsee. Thanks.
Now I'm wondering how the Mafex mando will turn out
The intro was cursed
But still good
I keep seeing people shit on this and I just got mine finally a few days ago.
3:15 R.I.P the mandalorian 2019-2020
it just feels that baby yoda shoulda just been an accessory instead of a separately sold figure. this was also an issue with the black series, though they are releasing an ultimate edition type package that has mando with baby yoda.
Great, solid review. I have been on an SHF kick lately & almost bought this, but now I feel like I can wait just a bit longer. Maybe even opt for the HotToys versions.
Save for Mafex or wait for season 2 look from Hot toy is might go up for order around this year
Dope review Robo!
Might have to get this one for the soft goods cape
I just got the Black Series build-up pack and I think the helmet on that one looks the best out of the ones we've gotten. Also Din's face isn't as bad depending on the angle (it's the hair that looks terrible)
Which one is better the S.H figurearts or the black series?
It’s absolutely awesome
Where did you buy it from?
Man, I'd never buy those now. Great review.
Stay safe.
You know, I'm totally good with that. I was afraid of a lot of "you're too negative" comments but I love that some can find joy in my misery, haha.
Robo buddy can you tell me if the baby yoda head fits on the black series one?
The ball is smaller so it doesn't lock in but it does sit on top and.....doesn't look terrible, actually.
Which one is it fwoosh.. mahfex or mayfex. Choose one.
I choose ALL OF THEM!
Its the cape and how far down the head is bc in the show its a bit higher up on the SHFA its like he has no neck
Huh! You frightened me so much with this Halloween figure at the beginning! Oh wait...so this is how Baby Yoda looks like without his clothes on? Poor child...
I feel bad for mando... He needed to give him bath... Wait, now o Will need to him bath, Holy shit, no, god
0:01 I feel bad for mando... He needed to give him bath and see that... Wait, now I Will need to give him bath, Holy shit, no, god
Some shots towards Anthony customs there?? 👀
Not that I'm aware. Why?
For the cuffs on grogu do you think you could get away with gluing the cuffs to the robe or would that prevent you from swapping the arms?
Already got to work to get it, now have to work to play with it
where did you get the neck extension for the SHF mandalorian? thanks.
I think you hit the nail on the head. This figure's good points make it so much more "tolerable" than the original. It's by no means perfect, but with the Mafex still unreleased and its overall lack of accessories, this will probably remain the best 1:12 Mando, overall. Great job as always, Robo!
I'm certainly getting the Mafex one instead
Aesthetically the armor looks great, but that's all the positive stuff I can say about this figure sadly
Think this other one is really good all the way though

👍
Another great review. I have a question will you be reviewing the 1000 toys Abe Sapien
I haven't been doing the 1000Toys stuff, just not a heavy into Hellboy.
@@TheFwoosh ok that's cool. I have the abe on the way and was just wondering what I was in for. Thanks🤟🏻
Lmao the child looks fucking terrifying without the robe 😂
It's a shame that these SHF deliveries on the Mando are so frustrating. I'm a huge fan of SH Figuarts, and have been collecting Dragon Ball, Kamen Rider, and Sailor Moon for a long time. Oh well, this just makes me even happier that I didnt drop the dollars on the SHFs. Im even more looking forward to my MAFEX Beskar Mando this Christmas :D
Hopefully it hits this Christmas, have a feeling it will be next spring. MAFEX!
Hey Robo would you rather mess with these figures again or the original MAFEX C-3PO? 😂
Haha, that's a no-win situation, but if I had a gun to my head....these. At least they don't fall completely apart!
Love the sound effects, Robo, lol.
I’m just hoping for a model kit
I hate to say it but... I used to really love SH Figuarts but I now think too many of their new figures bear far too many microscopic and easy to loose accessories and have an unnecessarily complicated engineering. The new Black Series Mando is sweet and almost perfect. I'd never dare to go out with this SH Figuarts figure to take some pics because I'd probably loose something while trying to keep it standing. Black Series Mando and Mission Fleet Child (in his floating crib) are my galactic Lone Wolf and Cub of choice.
Where can I get those capes for the black series mando?
Where’d did you get the cape for mando ( non-beskar)?
