    My beautiful daughter in law is Filipino. She and my son are expecting their first (of many, I hope!) daughters in July. She said she wanted a chiffon cake at her shower. Now I know exactly what she must want. Can't wait to try it. Your video was very easy to follow. Thanks!❤

    I made this cake for my son 1st bday, 2 tier: 9 in on bottom with a #1 on top. Came out wonderful and taste is amazing. The whole family loved it! THANK YOU!

    onde onde or klepon is originally from Java. Javanesse are the people stays in Java island that lays in Indonesia. You may edit the information or you may not. You may research the correct information in the internet but since I came from Java than i am thinking I know more about this dessert. Its prominent dessert in Indonesia and Malaysia. Very nice and yummy recipe though, loves to watch your cooking vlog 🥰

    I would be happy if you reply soon.I am a big fan of your cakes.Can i skip the pandan extract as I have to bake a coconut cake for a friend.Will it taste like coconut cake still?Can i use this recipe for 6inch pan?

      Hi Aisha - yes, you van leave out the pandan extract and it will turn out great as just a coconut cake. I’d suggest halving all the ingredients for a 6-inch cake. Hope this helps! 😊

    I made this cake today. It's setting in the fridge. Is it normal for it to melt easily as I am frosting it. I had to put in fridge for a bit

      Hi Sharina - the cream cheese in the frosting should stabilize the frosting. And make sure to use heavy cream. Other creams like whipping cream, evaporated milk, or Nestle all-purpose cream cannot be used as a substitute for heavy cream, as it doesn’t have a high enough fat content. Heavy cream has a higher fat content (about 35-40% fat content), which is needed for the frosting to whip into stiff peaks and remain stable at room temperature. If the cream you're using has lower than 35-40% fat, it will not form stiff peaks. So make sure you're actually using cold "heavy cream" - also called "thick cream" in some countries. And it needs to be very cold before whipping.
      If heavy cream is not available, I’d suggest making a Swiss-meringue buttercream frosting instead. Hope this helps! :)

    I have a 19l otg so I won't be able to place two 9" pans adjacent. There is only one baking rack and one cookie sheet provided. Not sure what changes to make. Should I try one pan on the Baking rack and one pan on the cookie tray? Also what is the height of the 9" pans?

      Hi Anne - the cake should keep in the fridge for 3 to 5 days. Though the clusters will get less crunchy over time. The cake also freezes well, and will keep in freezer for up to 2 months. Hope this helps!

      Hi Leonila - glad your buko pandan turned out well. The cream cheese stabilizes the frosting a bit, but whipped cream frostings in general won't be stable in very hot weather. For more stable frostings, I'd recommend making a Swiss-meringue buttercream instead (we have several videos demonstrating that). Buttercream frostings will be more stable, but won't be as light as whipped cream frostings. Hope this helps! :)

    Hi! I don’t have any parchment paper at the moment and only have tin foil. Can I use tin foil instead of parchment paper?

      Hi Madelaine - foil doesn't have any non-stick properties. So you may find that it sticks to your chiffon after baking. Hope this helps! :)

      @@bambicadiente3939 The chiffon shrinking, deflating or cracking could be a sign that egg whites are not stable / were not beaten properly. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when making the meringue.
      1.) The egg whites should be separated very well - with no traces of egg yolk in it. As traces of egg yolks could prevent it from whipping up (it's easier to separate them while the eggs are still cold).
      2.) Try to use newer eggs, as they whip up better. And let the separated egg whites sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, so that they come to room temperature. Egg whites whip better when they are at room temperature.
      3.) Make sure the mixing bowl and beaters are completely dry, with no oily residue. Using a glass or metal bowl for whipping helps, as plastic mixing bowls often can have oily residue in them, which prevents egg whites from whipping properly.
      4.) Cream of tartar helps to stabilize the egg whites, so that they whip up and gain volume. If cream of tartar is not available, you can substitute 1 tsp of cream of tartar with 2 tsp of lemon juice, or 1 tsp of white vinegar.
      5.) Add the granulated sugar into the egg whites very slowly, as quickly pouring in the sugar too quickly could deflate the whipped up egg whites.

      Hi Lucita - for the heavy cream, I use Organic Valley brand, 365 WholeFoods brand, or the FoodTown brand of my local grocery store here in NYC - but any brand should work, as long as it heavy cream / heavy whipping cream. It's also called "thick cream" in some parts of the world. Hope this helps! :)
