Im guessing it was more of a reward because vaughn talks more sternly to him now when he wnats to teach him something and then he tried it and did it and had an incident but rewarded him for trying and listening by putting him in the rtrx and the demo car

Vaughn is a great teacher. Pushing cleet hard to get to where he needs to be. And embracing a "failure" as a teaching moment. Quality.
Scolding some one only makes them upset, to encourage someone through a failure situation is the mark of an excellent teacher.

Pushing someone to the failure point is the best way to learn. Go as fast and a shard as you can until you fail.. then go one step down and work from there. This was Vaughn's way of pushing cleet to the brink. Kudos to amazing drivers

@@Xavier1320 wel, they originally purchased a cayote but the wrecked red n white gt500 came up and it was complete with everything they needed with the tremek t56 ,computers and harness. It was a no brainer. The supercharged 5.4 dohc is a beast.

Its a place for reg car guys to have a good time. I was planning a an e90 ls swap wagon for my family to build and take to Cleetus and cars for a vacation. If it turns into some big corporate deal like formula D then I have absolutely no interest in it and I know I'm not the only one.
@@0650asanders I don't think Vaughn would ever put Cleet in a position that he didnt think was right for him. Vaughn's a good driver, but from what it seems, he's a better friend. If there was anything in a contract that he thought wouldn't be perfect for Cleet, I get a strong feeling, he'd point it out well before any pens came out.
I feel like Cleet's big enough and been around the block with sponsors and whatnot enough to know that he either needs to read everything very clearly or have a lawyer do it for him and break everything down. So between those two things, I doubt he or we have much to worry about.

Compared to other people here on UA-cam, you have to sit in awe at just how quickly you've progressed in ability with drifting. With Vaughn being a long time favourite of mine in D1GP, nothing is more wholesome and down to earth than him taking you under his wing and teaching you. The way you listened and thanked him for instruction is just 1st class.
When he said "Ok, Thank you" and then went and did exactly what he was told the very next run... 👌🏼

From what I saw today vs. where ole Cleeter started, that is a good possibility. He's growing in leaps and bounds. I just wonder if his schedule could handle something like that with all the drag racing stuff, and his freedom factory dreams.

Vaughn’s a great friend. Not only was he giving Cleetus tips to improve, but he reassured him when he made mistakes and right after the crash he still lets him drive the FD mustang as an extra boost of confidence showing how much he trusts Cleetus.

When your drifting you don’t care about the car, it’s a tool if it wrecks it wrecks it’s all rebuildable, but sliding in tandem or even just practice is what makes the fun. No drifter that’s on a track has sympathy or care about what happens with it. As long as the driver walks out it’s back to the tent wrench and drink beer until the car is back on the track
If you haven't seen it before go watch Vaughns drift battles for podiums or ones with Chelsea and you'll see how much aint care he has for his cars haha

What I think is cool is, with the drags you see Cleetus grow on his own and with his friends, and here with the drifting we get to see Cleetus as more of a student learning from a legend in Formula Drift. You get to see multiples sides with Cleetus which is what makes his channel so cool on top of all the other silly shit these guys do imo.

I'm reading all of these comments about how great of a teacher Vaughn is and how well Cleet takes the criticism and instruction, which i totally agree with, but one thing is more important and stands out over the rest of it that truly speaks to his humility: Cleetus just shared the entire experience, good and bad, with complete strangers on UA-cam! .
That is extremely genuine! As an Aussie we bag ourselves or admit stuff ups like a 🏆...... But (no criticism) Americans just generally Don’t...... It is why I think that anyone who ever watches 1 clip, would Subscribes or come back
It’s a warts and all approach. Get what you see. You feel the truth as we live the ups and downs with him and feel we know them all like family.....
Cleet understands that deep down, most Americans love an underdog. So he knows showing the bad with the good only enhances his connection to his viewers.
This is one of the main reasons I love watching Cleetus. He likes talking a big talk and messing around, but he's also really humble and admits when he makes a mistake and tries to learn from it.

Same with Alec, let's be realistic here anyone who has someone like Vaughan, willing to teach you and good you, solid to the point constrictive criticism. You dam well swallow any pride or ego you have and listen, well unless you're on the special side. Though no everyone can apply the advice quite as quickly as they both did

I love watching a good teacher have a positive experience with a good student. No ego, no bullshit sugar coating, just honest constructive criticism accepted and acted upon for a positive end result.
Vaughn seems like one of the coolest guys. Forget money, forget what he has. He's just a down to earth dude with a chill vibe. Some of your best content Cleet is when you two get together. This video was absolutely fantastic.

who here has been following cleetus for years and is absolutely astounded to see how far he's gotten in his career. I remember when he was just shooting vids of races, then helping out, then actually racing. now he owns his own track, has 2 million+ subscribers, and is drifting professionally with Vaughn Gittin Jr.
So amazed at Vaughn’s teaching, and proud for some reason for Cleetus’s humility and wanting to soak it up. Being humble isn’t observed too often these days. Keep freaking rocking it!

He actually let at least one other person drive that car. The guy who is the legendary photographer that has the Hoonigan Autofocus channel. Of course Vaughn rode with him on that drive. Not to mention he has a great teacher like Von Gittin Jr that is not only showing him how it's done but also showing him the little tricks of the sport that some Drivers keep to them selfs this is why I like Von Gittin Jr so much and I'm a chevy fan born and raised but he is just like me willing to share my knowledge to better the industry/Sport I'm in to inspire and bring in the younger generations to continue it into the future

This man jumped into a car he has only driven a few times before, on a brand new setup to him and was hucking drifts at a hundred plus and tandeming with Vaughn. He is an absolute legend for even having the guall to do it, and he's definitely a grade A natural driver
