Christian metal typically tends to have uplifting lyrics and are usually intended to spread the message of God. Sometimes the message is "in your face," and at other times it can be a "read-between-the-lines" kind of message. Regardless of how you interpret the music, you should almost always walk away feeling a little better be it emotionally, spiritually or even, in this case, physically. It's nice to have positive messages to balance out all the negative messages most of us receive on a daily basis.

Well, they are a Christian rock band, because the members are Christians, their lyrics are inspired by Christian ideas, and because they use their platform to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of their songs contain concepts that are taken right out of the Bible.
Great reaction. Yes, heavy metal is associated with rebellion and sin, so how can there be Christian heavy metal? Because, in Christian religion, Jesus came to save sinners. So the message in Christian heavy metal is often how the band members were originally lost sinners and then saved by Jesus forgiveness. Now they have such energetic joy they want to share the message that Jesus came for everyone, even the worst sinners as they used to be. Hope that makes sense.

Great description of what they're about. I love John and the band. I was fortunate enough to meet John, Korey and the band at the time back around 2000.
One of the most beloved rock bands. I always liked the team of this group. Especially guitarist Korey Cooper and, of course, drummer, vocalist and generally a good person - Jen Ledger. Thank you very much for your reaction! Hope to see reactions to "Skillet" and "Linkin Park" again. I really hope!
I always found it interesting that Skillet's guitarist Korey Cooper was married to Skillet's vocalist John Cooper but I've also always liked Jen Ledger best both she and John have gone and done side project bands, but also Jen Ledger and Korey Cooper have been friends for a long time. Considering all of that Skillet have been together for 25+ Years. Amazing people.
I also really love that Skillet took the time to open for one of my favorite up and coming rock bands, the family band Liliac and then John Cooper hung out with them after the show.
@@jonathanwatson5818 Jen was their babysitter, whilst being at college and studying music, focusing on drums. She is from England.
Skillet has a lot of great songs, I would suggest you listen to their song Hero. But that is really up to you.

Christian metal.ike Christian rock .Has melodies but spreads the message of the Bible without the Bible an sings about salvation , death of loved one .or the afterlife .or about JOB like in case of Tourniquet another great Christian metal band that started way b4 Skillet back in1990
