Fungus gnats is sign of root rot. While I use the same method, I now remove old soil, wash the roots, and soak the roots 1:1 water peroxide solution for 5-10 min. Then repot in fresh soil with handful of bone meal.
If you use a magnifying glass, pour 3% peroxide on the soil with fungus gnat larvae, they do not die. Plus the peroxide turns into water. Fungus gnats are a sign of over watering.
I think the soil already has the larvae in it , I found by pouring boiling water over the soil in a drainage pot before you plant kills the larvae, I have also seen fungus gnats when my pots have been bone ass dry! Sterilize your soil!
Can you show a video of you preparing the mixture..??
Well do, but currently on vacation. ;D
Quite informative.
Glad it was helpful!

Great suggestion! I see another fan of hydrogen peroxide. Might do that if condition doesnt improve.
I’ve tried everything including transplanting and washing roots twice.
Diatomaceous earth, need oil, need tea and other things and still have gnats

A layer of sand covering the top of the soil will eliminate them and keep them from being able to lay their eggs.
