Thank you very much! This was a big milestone along the way. Now I can focus on all the details that need to be added to the layout. There will be a lot more to watch!
Most folks don’t work with a plan as you have. You showed a lot of great techniques that other outdoor modelers could use. I’m a gardener as well so building my outdoor RR and incorporating live plants add another dimension. Along with buildings and lights. You’re only limited by your pocketbook. Great job so far. Look forward to seeing future videos. 😊
I hope the rain didnt damage any equipment. It certainly enhanced the visual aspect. The globules of rain on the rolling stock and the wet track and surrounds looked even better (as if that is even possible). Great job! Thanks again for sharing this journey with us.
Hi! There was no damage to the rolling stock. Only water stain and some small dirt particles which I removed with soapy water and a microfiber cloth. I am glad that you enjoy my videos!
Congratulations on achieving such a fantastic railway system. The track diagram allows realistic operation, with stacks of potential. Well done and thank you for sharing and Happy New Year to you.
@@jovetj A big clean up is required 2-4 times a year. You have to pick up leafs, little sticks and so on before every running session. Well done....All that hard work has paid off . The railway looks fantastic ..it would be interesting to see how you control the railway ,are you using DCC or something different..All the best for 2024 👍👍
Thank you very much! I am using the Massoth DIMAX central station which uses the DCC protocol. It works great! I am controlling all train movements manually via a hand held controller. I hope this answers your question!
Oh for sure! The structures are in preperation, when spring arrives I will install plenty of them. But first I need to wire up all of the switches and signals and install the plattforms in the station area. There is a lot more to do....
Guten Start ins neue Jahr!
Great video, thank you. I am enjoying watching you build your railway. I am wondering why you did not power your shed lighting from track voltage? That is a simple and longer term solution I use to light my buildings.
Hey! I will power all the lights exactly how you described it in the future. As you may have noticed the layout is not finished yet. Beside the goods shed I have not installed any lights or buildings on the layout at this point thus I haven´t set up the power supply for the lights either. I needed a quick and simple solution to power the goods shed only for this single event so a came up with the solution shown in the video.
It all looks fantastic. The hard work has paid off. Two question's. How do you prevent those chooks scratching up the stone's? Threaten them with the sharp edge of the axe? Everything works, what a great achievement. I can only imagine that we haven't seen the end to the construction yet. Well done mate.

Awesome work! I've followed along, glad you're getting things running now! Question Are you running track power to run the interior lights of the passenger cars? Or are they powered by the loco?
Hey, glad you like the video! I am running track power for the interior lights. This enables me to have every single car completely independet from another car or locomotive. I can switch them up how I want, thats the beauty of it.
Since I am running my layout digital the track power stays always the same. This makes your diode trick unusable for my application. I could install a manual switch or a decoder to be able to switch those lights on or off as I wish...
Could you pick up the power off the motor leads/ yes it would give a variable brightness but with the diodes on each end you'd get directional lighting. I like the idea of the decoder controlling the lights. Just thinking. You're doing a great job with your railroad.
@@geoffreykail9129 I thought you are talking about certain passenger and freight cars. Regarding locomotives it is very simple, since every loco has a digital decoder onboard you can simply programm this funktion if the wiring in the loco is done the right way.
Moin aus Lübeck , erstmal , mega Projekt welches du da machst . . .
That´s true but I do have low hanging branches on my layout which would rip off the pantograph if I do so. Keep in mind the layout isn´t done yet. Thats the kind of work I need to do asap as it gets warmer outside.

Don't forget to raise the pantograph of your electric locomotives, it looks a bit off when they drive around with all of them down.
That´s true but I do have low hanging branches on my layout which would rip off the pantograph if I do so. Keep in mind the layout isn´t done yet. Thats the kind of work I need to do asap as it gets warmer outside.
Magnifique 😍
Thank you!
Hi im just wondering what kind of stone's are you using?
2 - 5 mm basalt gravel
do you have any diesel locomotives level across ing with boom gates lights
I´m not 100% sure what you mean by that but I would say no, I don´t.
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Glad you like it, thank you!
Train + Rain = 🔥
It worked great
what about the chickens?
They are my track inspectors, without their agreement I can not finish up any work on the layout nore run some trains.
WOW!, 😱
You are impressed! That´s nice :) Glad you like it.
How do you get the money to pay for all this stuff?
I go to work earning money and saving up as much as I can to build this garden railroad. It doesn´t come easy. I am pursuing this hobby for 12 years at this point. All the stuff was bought in this big time frame although it seems like I am buying all of it right now. That´s the secret...
