I really respect you for the way you calmly handled the situation. I always travel with a few of my utility bills, driving licence and even pay slips in addition to my travelling documents, in case. Because i have been singled by immigration officers on transit before.
So glad you made it out. Thank God. They gave you such a hard time and you were so patient with them that they had no other choice but set you up good and comfortable for your travel back home.😊

Trudy glad everything worked out. When I was younger I was excited about doing a road trip across America, as I had visited some states and driven before. After the incidents with lives being taken I was deterred. Now a little older and wiser definitely not on my list anymore. Let me say though, because of you and Maya I would definitely do a road trip in Africa. Thank you so much and all the best!

It's Ghana's rules. Many countries require it. It happens to me when I go to Ghana too! A trick to beat this is to purchase a ticket from Ghana before you get to the airport on an American airline like Delta or United. You can then cancel your ticket for a full refund. It's a law here in the US that airlines are required to offer full refunds for up to 24 hours after purchase. This really does work...

Am a Travel Agent. My experience with Qatar has never been pleasant at all. Some of their staff tend to have issues with travelers who hold certain passports, or are from certain countries. It's either they tell you you have too much luggage and frustrate you with luggage issues or they hold you for no good reason. Their airfares are great but avoid booking them if you can. Hope everything works out for you Trudy. I can imagine. That appears to be so frustrating.😅 Am glad they realized and acknowledged the inconvenience they caused you though.

The ID will always treat you fair and give you a chance to make things right. There may have been a slight confusion with your papers but as long as everything is legit ..it will end up well as it did. Trudy, you being an avid traveller, you should make sure you get any documentation that will be of help to you especially of your second citizen even though it might not be useful but it's necessary for a smooth ride and transit.

Hey Trudy. I had the same problem in Egypt when I went to Zambia. I had the brilliant idea of printing the Zambian immigration email as well as the list of countries I am heading to Travel without visa
