    great video! i love the way you've worked in some new poses as compared to your other videos. I was surprised at myself for being able to stand up once in that bind! Thanks so much for another lovely practice.

    Candice. Thank you so much for these videos. Not only am I getting back in touch with my 45 year old body because of your videos, but it has had the added benefit of focusing and lengthening my other practices like meditation and chant. Bless you.

    I really miss your older classes where you did a voice over with your calming voice. It leaves you feeling so serene and relaxed afterwards.

      Ahh I remember those days! The only problem with them is it took twice the time because I'd film it and then I'd have to spend the same amount of time doing the VoiceOver - just tough to find that time now that I own a studio and have clients I work with daily.

    I was feeling kind of blue this afternoon and tried this one for the first time. The bind that turned into the standing balance posture surprised me with what my body could do! And the practice helped me feel better. Thank you Candace for all of your videos, they have brought me so much joy and health.

    Love this 30 minute series! Long enough to work up a sweat and inspire further exploration of some of the poses, not so long as to be boring or (too) intimidating. Thanks, Candace!

    Candace, I've been practicing yoga through your videos on and off for over half a year now, and this was the first time I held headstand for more than one or two seconds! Was only three or four seconds but I think it was because I've never tried entering it in the way you demonstrate in this video. I am very excited, thank you very much. :)

    This was my first practice with you and I loved it! You incorporated a lot of poses I don't normally do in my practice but will definitely add them now. Also, I want to thank you for showing the proper way to do chaturanga in one of your ask a yoga question videos. I had been having a lot of shoulder pain trying to do it as if I was doing a push up, but now it's a lot better now that I know the correct form. Thank you!!

    Great practice Candace, thank you so much. I'm still having a tricky time with headstand. I've started doing it against a wall, as I kept toppling over without! It seems I can work my way up - but I have no sense of if my legs are over my pelvis. What's the best way for me to practice. On a positive note, I was able to stand up in the bind ... hurrah!

    • @yogabycandace
      @yogabycandace  10 років тому

      Leona Devaz Woo, standing up in a bind - great job! I would suggest filming yourself with your phone trying to get into headstand. That way you can see whether or not your pelvis is over your head cuz it for sure feels funky the first few times.

    • @ldevaz
      @ldevaz 10 років тому

      Okay cool, I will try that. I have no sense of spatial awareness in this pose - hence some of the crash landings! But, I am determined to master it.

    • @yogabycandace
      @yogabycandace  10 років тому

      Elsa Josephine Petersen Think about making the sideways letter J shape with your body instead of a sideways L shape. Think about elongating the spine. To do this, you'll likely need to work on hip flexor openness.

    I was wondering....If you do 30-40 mins of yoga, 5-6 days per week coupled with eating clean, can you tone up and lose weight? Is yoga enough to keep in shape? Thx :)

    • @yogabycandace
      @yogabycandace  8 років тому

      I suppose it depends on how out of shape you are. If you have a lot of excess weight to lose and practicing 30-40 min of yoga, 5-6 days per week was a huge lifestyle change, then yeah, you would probably see results like that. But if you already have a more active lifestyle and not a lot of extra weight to lose, then no, I don't think it's enough.
