Hmm. The closest thing to 720P ultra for 100$ or less is RX 460. 120$ but good 720P ultra. But 720p ultra stutters. so I reccomend 720P very high or 1080p very highm

new process, better die = ~100 mhz higher clocks (up to ~1500mhz oc), better "chill", lower multi monitor power consumption. You can reduce power consumption by reducing voltage which are set way too high by default on most manufacturers. This is a ~130W card if tuned right.
I´ve got my xfx 480 up to 1445 mhz stable.. and let it run on 1425mhz all day usage on my 2nd pc. Heat isn´t a problem at all.. max temps during an 8 hours test were just 71 celsius which is totaly fine and normal. So basicly.. they are dropping the price.. which is nice.. and coming along with a factory oe.
But the increased frame rate beyond 1350 is just shit,so whats the point? ; (100 mhz); 8% O/C, 4.3% frame rate, 13% power increase. Waste of bloody time and noise. Way better to undervolt at ~ 1340.

That's why rebounds exist. besides, it's been around a year since AMD released the Polaris gpu's and all the older gpu's just have their life expectancy enhanced further by the continued driver support. Nvidia Wants to make money, hence they cut driver support relatively fast. AMD wants to build a loyal customer base, so they support their older cards for as long as possible. that is admirable. Gamers Nexus used synthetic benchmarks. one which is very sensitive to high frequency. that does not reflect real world results. I got both cards. one In a mitx build and one in my sons pc. the RX 470 does indeed outperform the 1060. especially in Dx12 games.
"flex their stuff" only took them 2 years for their top card to compete with the 1060. Only for the 2000's cards coming late this year. Would be a complete waste to get the 1060 or the 580
Well, Hardware specs wise, RX480 should've been *somewhat* closer to GTX1070 performance to begin with. (RX480 had around 20% better core config, while GTX1070 had 30% higher core clock. With rest of the specs being pretty much 1:1) So I wouldn't be all that surprised if RX580, having made several small fixes and improvements here and there, would outperform GTX1070 in *some* titles.
Drivers have not been optimized the rx480 is starting to outpace the gtx 1060 in dx 12 games in some newer titles so i will definetly change my gtx 780 into a rx580.

Well the GT series in all is a joke except for its low profile form factor/TDP/price, its meant to be added into virtually any PC. Sucks that if you look over the fact that the used market is years better than the stores that still attempt to sell these pieces of trash at new (eg. the GT 730 for $70 when you can probably find an R9 280x for the same price and a R9 290 if you pay and extra $30). Heck there's even the choice of a used GTX 750 Ti if you don't want to pay extra on a better PSU to support full size GPUs.

Rx580 is still legit in June, 2021 paired with a AMD Rhyzen 5 3600 cpu, Asus Prime450 motherboard( id get something better ..this came with my prebuild from bestbuy), and 16 gb 3000 mhz XPG Z1 Adata Ram. I've been playing all games on max settings and haven't noticed any issue.
Not sure if you noticed, but most of the games were repeated with different APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL, DX11, DX12) and when you consider the best benchmark for each GPU the 1060 only ties/beats the 580 in about 3 games.
I suspect he eats a lot of carrots. No joke, I had that happen to me when I was younger, was eating at at least 2 carrots a day and my palms and cheeks started accumulating b-carotene (vitamin A), and turning an orange hue...

well I would say AMD's decision not to ignore asynchronous computing did pay off, at first the polaris graphics cards seemed to be inferior, but now after numerous driver updates and as more and more games support DX12 and vulkan, AMD can finally pose a serious threat to Nvidia, which is always beneficial to the consumers.

Hades Rx 580/570 is nice upgrade from the Gtx 960. However don't be one of those who frequently upgrade their GPU. Do it only if you're having bad performance like sub 30 fps or something.
An upgrade will give you a boost in fps, but waiting another year might actually be a good idea. Your 960 is a decent card and should still give you a solid performance. Unless you are experiencing major problems with your card, keep it. Until next year you can save even more money ^^

Well, Hardware specs wise, RX480 should've been *somewhat* closer to GTX1070 performance to begin with. (RX480 had around 20% better core config, while GTX1070 had 30% higher core clock. With rest of the specs being pretty much 1:1) So I wouldn't be all that surprised if RX580, having made several small fixes and improvements here and there, would outperform GTX1070 in *some* titles.

Drivers have not been optimized the rx480 is starting to outpace the gtx 1060 in dx 12 games in some newer titles so i will definetly change my gtx 780 into a rx580.

Well the GT series in all is a joke except for its low profile form factor/TDP/price, its meant to be added into virtually any PC.
Sucks that if you look over the fact that the used market is years better than the stores that still attempt to sell these pieces of trash at new (eg. the GT 730 for $70 when you can probably find an R9 280x for the same price and a R9 290 if you pay and extra $30). Heck there's even the choice of a used GTX 750 Ti if you don't want to pay extra on a better PSU to support full size GPUs.

Rx580 is still legit in June, 2021 paired with a AMD Rhyzen 5 3600 cpu, Asus Prime450 motherboard( id get something better ..this came with my prebuild from bestbuy), and 16 gb 3000 mhz XPG Z1 Adata Ram. I've been playing all games on max settings and haven't noticed any issue.

Not sure if you noticed, but most of the games were repeated with different APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL, DX11, DX12) and when you consider the best benchmark for each GPU the 1060 only ties/beats the 580 in about 3 games.

well I would say AMD's decision not to ignore asynchronous computing did pay off, at first the polaris graphics cards seemed to be inferior, but now after numerous driver updates and as more and more games support DX12 and vulkan, AMD can finally pose a serious threat to Nvidia, which is always beneficial to the consumers.

Hades Rx 580/570 is nice upgrade from the Gtx 960. However don't be one of those who frequently upgrade their GPU. Do it only if you're having bad performance like sub 30 fps or something.

An upgrade will give you a boost in fps, but waiting another year might actually be a good idea. Your 960 is a decent card and should still give you a solid performance. Unless you are experiencing major problems with your card, keep it. Until next year you can save even more money ^^
