Pastor John, the word convict is specific to certain New Testament translations. However, Jesus did say the Father judges no one in John 5:22. He said the son does what he see's his Father doing. Jesus also said "I stand in judgment of no one" in John 8:15 and John 12:47-48 indicate Jesus doesn't judge again. Since the Father and Jesus don't judge, why would the Holy Spirit judge? To convict, one must judge, yes? This is why WE prefer the NIV where the word PROVE is used. Think about this a minute, if people are taught the wrong ideas or words if one did judge, how could you judge and convict someone for believing what they were taught? Isn't the word prove a better choice? It makes the job of the Holy Spirit much more palatable in that he would be telling the world which words were Jesus' true words and which weren't.
John records what Jesus said before in chapter 14. This Counselor is the Holy Spirit John 14:16-17 CSB "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. Most of the Christian Brothers says n believes that ... Father, son n holy spirit are not three but one ... so why Jesus PBUH is talking abt the person who will come n share the knowledge n the message after Jesus is gone ???? Regarding who ? Jesus was telling ???
Hey Arshad, There's a difference between the word "being" and "person". Your being for example is (human) and your person is (Arshad). We live in a world or dimension where we can only have in person in one being. In the divine level however, there is ONE being (God)who is three persons(Father,Son,and Holy spirit). Just how i can refer to your person as your being i.e. i can say Ashraf is Human. We can do the same thing with the trinity since person is part of the being we can say(the Father is God, the Son is God and, the Spirit is God). The three persons are not the same, they are different from one another and they interact with one another. So No, Jesus was not speaking to himself as every muslim think, he was speaking to the father. As for, jesus speaking of sending a comforter. He's referring to the Holy spirit. Don't believe what you scholars tell you. You read the whole chapter and see yourself. Btw, let's imagine Jesus was talking about him sending Mohammed. Since the quran says that Allah sent Mohammed, doesn't that make Jesus and Allah the same person? If you believe that jesus was saying in the bible that he was going to send Mohammed, then you'd have to accept that Jesus is God. Read that chapter and see yourself who's Jesus is speaking about. God Bless you.
Just like Jesus was sent by the Father, Jesus needed to go back to the Father to eventually send the Holy Spirit Advocate 93 Rabboni 999 through the Father in the flesh. He became the Holy Spirit Advocate, after all, didn't he breath on the disciples and say receive the Holy Spirit?
Not one of us alive has ever seen any example of human sinless perfection. Few perhaps have seen a few examples of exceptional human virtue. Perhaps the fireman who runs into a building or the skilled pilot that saves all his passengers when the plane is going down or perhaps an exceptional school teacher that takes extra time with a student to tutor them to literacy. How can we see the glory of anything in the perfect context in this life? When we read a novel we have to fill in the details such as the events going on around the hero which no one will ever get to see the whole person without all the details of every frame of the movie. Why then is the Bible so sketchy & broken up in its little pictures it may form in our minds? To me it is like a puzzle that when I put two pieces together I knock two pieces out of place because a memory like mine cannot hold all the details together. I was not born with an eidetic or photographic memory like these Bible scholars seem to have. Then again what does it mean to follow Christ when there is no one to follow or no where to go to follow Him. I can somewhat blindly follow Him into belief but as far as following Him any further I am really lost & blind because I do not see anything or any flesh & blood mentor to follow. Then how can the Spirit glorify God if all He does is convince us that we fall short but does not lead us out of the dilemma of the very guilt complexes He lays upon us nor give us discernment as to whether those complexes are indeed from Him or from somewhere else? Is then it not possible to take a hero and contextualize him as a villain and a villain and contextualize him as a hero. I am finding out that in this life a whole lot of those I once thought of as heroes are actually villains because of covert details going on behind the overt publicized life that are put forth as virtuous. Today for example we see many "heroes" that from behind the scenes create the very disaster they are lauded for their solution to it. I suspect Bill Gates may be a great example of such. Yet the disaster is a disaster indeed & destroys many lives in the process as well as in the process of covering the details up hit men are used. It of course is all a part of the Hegelian Dialectic where a problem is deliberately but covertly launched or created then there is a reaction from the general public then a solution is presented that contains within it some greater limitation on human freedom. I pray that men learn everywhere the tactics of the Hegelian Dialectic as well as other subtle tactics such as the creation of fake disasters. At one time many may have looked up to the glitz and glitter of Roy Rogers who now is discovered to have been a 33 degree mason. How about theologians that are discovered to be Jesuits with their God awful oath they swear? Or what about the tactics of Israel today walling off the Palestinians & doing false flag dirt all over the world as well as AIPAC having undue influence on every part of our government. Then idiots make excuses for them telling us "Oh they are only trying to survive." What sort of world is this when the survival of one nation means the destruction of others and the undermining of human freedom in them? A true hero is defined not merely by what you see but also what you dont see.
Glory to God for this rather edifying truth. I wld also observe that the devine requirement that christ shld go first before the Holy spirit is sent can be viewed from the redemptive convenant perspective particularly in the respective triniterian undertakings where God the Father promises, God the son fulfills and God the Spirit preserves.

9/11 Christ, though, having become high priest of the good things coming, by the superior and more perfect Tabernacle(himself Jesus) made not by hand, that is, not of this creation, 12 nor by blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, entered [2nd veil] once and for all into the innermost Sanctuary[2nd Tabernacle which Jesus is a servant of 8/1-2], having obtained age-enduring redemption(the one behind the veil)
Hebrews
9/1 Then even the first did indeed have judicial requirements of divine service and the furnished Sanctuary.[Jesus] 2 For a first Tabernacle [Jesus] was constructed, in which were both the lampstand(I am the light of the world - Jesus) and table(John 6/55 For my flesh most truly is food and my blood most truly is drink), and the setting out of the loaves (John 6/58 This is that bread come down from Heaven, not comparable to how your fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread will live throughout the eon.'), which is called the Sanctuary [Jesus].
3 And after the second veil,
(remember Moses put a coving on his face a veil, just got told after the second veil Speaking of the Sanctuary made not by hands Jesus so there is a veil with Jesus the forerunner servant of the innermost Sanctuary)
came a Tabernacle (new high priest order of Melchizedek "HAVING BECOME" heb 6/20)
called the innermost Sanctuary, 4 having the golden censer, and the Ark of the Covenant (that's what's inside the second veil the Ark of the Covenant ie the King!)
overlaid in every part with gold, in which there was a golden pot holding the manna (the blood of Jesus -John 6/53-54), and the rod of Aaron which budded, and the tablets of the covenant (Habakkuk 2/2), 5 and above it the keruvim of glory overshadowing the Mercy Seat, (Psalm 80/1 Hive ear, oh Shepherd of Israel, You Who lead Joseph like a flock; You Who sit between the keruvim, shine!)
concerning which it is not now the time to speak in detail. (Because Joseph the high priest of Melchizedek wasn't here yet at time of writing Hebrews)
Hebrews 9/8 - Holy Spirit signifying this - the way into the innermost Sanctuary (Joseph behind the veil when Jesus is read)
not yet to have been brought to light [manifested, here] while the first Tabernacle [Jesus] was still standing.
John 16/7 'But I speak the truth to you. It is to your advantage that I should go away, for if I do not go away the Counsellor cannot come to you. But if I depart, I will send him to you.
8 'And when he comes, he will make the facts known to the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgement: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness because I am going away to my Father and you will behold me no more; 11 and concerning judgement, because the ruler of this world has been condemned. 12 'I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them just now. 13 But when thatvone comes, the Spirit of Truth, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will speak not from his own initiative, but whatever things he hears he will speak, and he will announce to you the things coming. 14 He will glorify me, for he will receive from what is mine, and he will announce it to you. 15 All things, whatever the Father possesses, are mine. On account of this I said that he receives from what is mine and he will announce it to you.
Joseph is the Most set apart One, I don't blame you if you don't believe me, cause, you don't believe Jesus either! If Joseph where to be translated to heaven and not be killed all of you would perish eternally, it takes 2 sacrifices for atonement see Hebrews 9/14-18
Hebrews
9/21 In addition, he likewise sprinkled with blood both the Tabernacle and all the equipment of the service. 22 And, in agreement with the law, almost everything has to be purified by blood, and without shedding of blood there is to be no forgiveness. 23 It was necessary, then, for the representations of the things in the heavens to be cleansed by these, but the heavenly things themselves by better[2] sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter into the innermost Sanctuary made by hands[without hands when it is brought to light future from when written], antitypes of the true things, but into Heaven itself, now to appear on our behalf in the presence of God. 25 Nor was it so that he should offer himself repeatedly, in the way the high priest enters into the innermost Sanctuary year by year by the blood of another, (John 6/53-54) 26 since it would have been necessary for him to have suffered repeatedly since the foundation of the world, but now, once, towards the completion of the Eons, he has been revealed for the abolishing of sin through the sacrifice of himself. 27 And just as it is destined for men to die once and, after this, judgement, 28 so also Christ[messiah, doesn't say Jesus Christ you just have a veil and read Jesus into that part of text], having been offered once to bear sins of many, will be brought to light a second time without sin, to those assiduously waiting it out for him for salvation.
Hebrews
10/29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be considered deserving who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and esteems as profane the blood of the covenant in which he(Joseph) was set apart, and has insulted the spirit of merciful goodwill?
Genesis 49/22-26
Most of the Christian Brothers says n believes that ... Father, son n holy spirit are not three but one ... so why Jesus PBUH is talking abt the person who will come n share the knowledge n the message after Jesus is gone ???? Regarding who ? Jesus was telling ???
Hey Arshad,
There's a difference between the word "being" and "person".
