The park is so pretty! All the food looks super yummy. Thanks for another amazing video guys! So happy it's a sponsored video! You deserve it. Love u ❤️
As a Hong Kong native, I can assure you have put soy sauce into the appropriate items and I immensely appreciate that. Most dim sums have already been well seasoned on their own, so putting additional soy sauce on them would render them too salty. Steamed rice bowl and cheung fun are two of the very few if not the only two items that we would put soy sauce upon being served. Instead of soy sauce, chili oil is a common condiment as well as Worcestershire sauce which is served with fried dishes like spring rolls to cut the greasiness.
As it turns out we have a Tim Ho Wan here in Vegas inside one of the casinos unfortunatly it's temporarily closed and it's suppose to reopen this June. When it reopens I'm going to check it out
Daikon cake - Shredded daikon, rice flour, chinese sausage (lap cheong 臘腸) + chinese preserved pork belly (lap yok 臘肉), dried shrimp (it's meatier than sakura ebi), dried scallop, dried shitake mushroom. Rice flour and then steaming it for an hour or more is how it keeps it's shape. After the steamed cake has cooled down, you cut and then pan fry. Here's a video from "Made with Lau" on how to make it. The dad in the video used to be a Chinese restaurant chef, and they are Cantonese. ua-cam.com/video/hN3hdW2it-0/v-deo.html
I just watched a video on fried milk. I think the traditional Chinese version calls for dairy milk, coconut milk, sugar, and cornstarch. It thickens on the stove and then you chill it before breaded and frying. However, apparently lots of cultures, like Spanish and Indian cultures, have there own versions of fried milk.
Gorgeous shots of the dim sum, thanks Shinichi and Satoshi! :) As a Chinese person it makes me happy to see you enjoy our culture so much! I'm very impressed by your ability to single out the subtlest of flavors like the hints of mushroom or dried shrimp :P
“Texture party” - That’s a great description. I love Vietnamese banh bot loc because of the squishy texture but also being able to see inside the clear wrapping. I’ve been craving dim sum ever since Shinichi got some a few weeks ago! And thank you Satoshi for wearing a mask when not eating just in case. It’s infuriating seeing other YTers like Dancing Bacon keeping their masks off in between appetizers/meals while a chef cooks in front of them. The world is not cured yet but we just need to hold out consistently for a little longer!
DancingBacons are in Singapore with much lower local cases than in Japan though, that’s why those ladies don’t wear their masks as often. Singapore has less than 100 cases a day in comparison to more than 1000 in Japan.
I always enjoy your videos but took special note of this one because there is a Tim Ho Wan here in New York City, USA! I've only been there once and loved what I ordered...now there are so many other dishes I want to try! Thank you!
There's a Tim Ho Wan right up the street from us here in SoCal. I'll have to order some take out for lunch tomorrow and recreate your picnic for myself!
The shrimp stuffed eggplant is my favorite, and I think rice wrapped cruller is my second favorite, but I've never tried rice wrapped meat. Dim sum picnic is such a great idea!
When I lived in Prescott Valley there was this great Chinese restraunt that had the best wanton soup. It was one of the only things I would ever eat at two years old from there. I made my dad eat the wontons, but I liked to eat all the vegetables out of the soup and the broth. I would take the big spoon they gave and fill it up with soup and veggies and sit on the plate in front of me and take my little baby spoon and eat one veggie at a time. I would sit there forever eating to my hearts content. I believe if memory (and my dad) serves me right it was called the Cantonese Café.
Dim sum is my Chinese favourite of all time. Thank you for inspiring me to eat carbs, lots of it, Today. First the noodles on ig and then this!! Satoshi is so sweet, putting on the mask every time he finished commenting about the food 😊 it makes the vid more real, eye to eye not lens to lens 👌🏼
The turnip cake usually has dried mini shrimps and chinese sausage! Can't wait for you to try all the dim sums at NYC's chinatown! Would love to bring you guys around!!
I’ve had Tim Ho Wan in Waikiki and the bbq pork buns are amazing. If the Japan location has spicy wontons and Hong Kong milk tea, you must try those as well.
It's so nice seeing you outside in the beautiful weather at that lovely park. The dim sum looks so good! We have a great dim sum restaurant near us, so we may have to eat some this weekend. Shrimp in crispy tofu is a favorite with my family,
Tim Ho Wan has several signature dishes. You got 2 of them - turnip cake and cha siew bolo bun. :) Also, the 7 vegetable dumpling is called crystal dumpling here. FYI. Good job, guys!
Everything looks so good. Great idea with dining in the park. We have a location here in NY too. I'm definitely going to try it next trip into the city.
That dim sum looks fantastic! I haven’t had great dim sum for a while. Turnip cake is made with daikon and rice flour, then its steamed and fried for serving
Dim s I'm is my favourite Chinese meal because of all the different flavours you can have in the small portions. My favourites are the pork and taro croquette and a char siu bau. Oh wow, lol.😁
I keep seeing that fish shaped cookie thing, I hear it is amazing. Maybe time to try Bokksu! Love, from USA. Japan has such beautiful trees. Take care, you guys! Love you both!❤
I LOVE dim sum. The cheung fun is my favorite is as well. I don't think I've ever had it with the char siu though. The one I usually get is beef (usually ground but some better places actually have thin slices of steak) and it's flavored with coriander and sometimes green onions. And yes, you can't forget the sweet soy sauce! The rice bowl almost looked like moco loco! Thanks for letting me see how a michelin starred dim sum looks like! Everything looked delicious!
I’m eating while watching you and it’s perfect for me! Good review and hopefully when we go to Japan, I’ll be able to taste some of your great dishes 👍👍👍
You should make it a bucket list checkoff . I had Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong, Taipei, and Honolulu. They are amazing and each location was just as good as the others. The fried milk is something I don’t mind spending 14 hours on a plane for. The pork buns are Michelin star rated year after year after year. You’re soooooo missing out. 😞
This looks soooo good. I miss eating dim sum. There used to be a good dim sum place in Rotterdam but they closed a couple of years ago :( I should keep this place in mind for next time. I want the charsu one!!!! Everything with sharsu has my name on it :D and I think the yuba one looks very good as well. Daikon mochi is something I try to make at home :) I tried making it in the microwave, that was a huge fail hahaha I looked up the deep fried milk; they thicken the milk with starch. I also discovered that in Spain there is also a deepfried milk dish that thickens the milk with egg yolk. There are recipes for it. Perhaps I'm going to try making it one time.
I would love to have Dim sum but the places that sell it around here only sell it until 4pm and I am always at work so I can't get there before they stop selling it.
Oh how I love how satoshi just knows about the food. He breaks the food down into segments....such a palate
He has an educated palate.
@@Sakja Or a picky eater and has become quite aware of why he enjoys or does not enjoy something.
Deep fried milk is a custard made with cornstarch. Once it's thickened it's cooled, then sliced, dipped in batter and fried.
Thanks, corn starch would do it!
The park is so pretty! All the food looks super yummy. Thanks for another amazing video guys! So happy it's a sponsored video! You deserve it. Love u ❤️
You two are such excellent bloggers, definitely Japan as soon as this pandemic dies down.😇
Love you two so much!!
I see Satoshi's smile and i inmediately feel happy! Such a nice video!

Yay new video. Ive been so stressed with packing working trying to find a place to move to i cant wait to rest relax and enjoy this
As it turns out we have a Tim Ho Wan here in Vegas inside one of the casinos unfortunatly it's temporarily closed and it's suppose to reopen this June. When it reopens I'm going to check it out
Have you tried them before?
@@angellover02171 no I haven't this will be my first time
Hmmm, I could actually get to Vegas. Next time I'm in the neighborhood 😄
Might be the only thing to lure me back to Vegas.

Cooking with Dog also has a video about it.
Thank you for sharing.

I have terrible, severe food allergies, so watching you eat the fried milk is so satisfying. It looks like magic
Thank you for making this video, it was very interesting. I hope you had so much fun filming it as I had watching it.

Sato San's explanations of the flavours can convince me to eat anything 😊😊
The picnic setting is really nice - I like seeing the trees and the sky in the background. And Tim Ho Wan dimsum is always delicious! 🥟
Luv seeing you two outside picnicking with Fantastic food and enjoying it👍🫂💜
I always enjoy your videos but took special note of this one because there is a Tim Ho Wan here in New York City, USA! I've only been there once and loved what I ordered...now there are so many other dishes I want to try! Thank you!
I know this is cliche but when your two commentaries come together, you describe food so perfectly, I get really hungry. Cheers, friends. 気をつけてね
What a delicious picnic! Thanks for the beautiful sights and sounds, and for your impressions of the dim sum which allowed me almost to taste them.
Looks amazing! You 2 are adorable. Big love from Raleigh, NC
美しい景色ので中で食べる事は美味しさ倍増でしょうねぇ!
Dim sum is one of our favorite outings. Would love to someday try Tim Ho Wan. What a treat! Congratulations on 500,000+ subscribers. That's awesome!
This was an excellent episode.
Now that’s a picnic 😎👍
Beautiful food, with beautiful people on a beautiful day, thank you 🙏 😊
You're right. In Hong Kong, Siu Mai does contain dried shitake mushroom, which has a pretty strong flavour in comparison with fresh mushroom.
There's a Tim Ho Wan right up the street from us here in SoCal. I'll have to order some take out for lunch tomorrow and recreate your picnic for myself!

Such a beautiful outdoor setting for your delicious food.
Oh goodness that looks so good :0
I always get hungry when watching your videos lol
Lol Jason, I watch them at meal times so I can munch along.
Deep fried milk? Ah... yes please.😊 And that egg was perfectly cooked. When you broke the yoke my mouth started to water, it looked so delicious.😋
I wish we could get food this good in Arizona I don't live in the population area we have to drive far to get anywhere and it's now summer 105 today !

Satoshis confusion at deep fried milk made me laugh so much 😂
What a lovely day for a picnic!! How perfect, and even more so to have an eating buddy, lol. It all looked pretty good, you got a good variety
Really liked the look of the shrimp with eggplant
Dim sum is my Chinese favourite of all time. Thank you for inspiring me to eat carbs, lots of it, Today. First the noodles on ig and then this!! Satoshi is so sweet, putting on the mask every time he finished commenting about the food 😊 it makes the vid more real, eye to eye not lens to lens 👌🏼

I don't think I've ever seen two happier people. That dim sum looks awesome! And only a fifteen minute wait?
Are they a couple?
I’ve had Tim Ho Wan in Waikiki and the bbq pork buns are amazing. If the Japan location has spicy wontons and Hong Kong milk tea, you must try those as well.
Beautiful day! All looks so good. Now I want to go out for dim sum.
Yup, Cantonese shumai will have shiitake mushrooms and maybe even bamboo shoots as well, giving that extra umami.
That dim sum looks so awesome. Beautiful day, great food, and two of my favorite youtubers.
Once again, this food makes my mouth water!
Love me some Dim Sum. Been a number of years, maybe 5, since I've had any. We don't really go out to eat.
Dim sum with a glass of ice cold famous Beerlao from Laos. It's very good.
Everything looks so good. I want to try all of them asap
Iv already gone through three box’s! They are truly amazing I haven’t come across anything I didn’t love!
Yay, got my beautiful nature fix, my favorite guys, and drool worthy food. Dim Sum is a favorite. Lots of little plates with gorgeous tasting food.
I love you guys more than you can ever know. Your videos are like a nice, warm hug on a cold day to me. Please be safe and keep posting the love. :)
Nice little picnic there guys!!! 👍
Thank You for Video... I Enjoyed !!!
I hope Satoshi makes an attempt of the fried milk on his channel!
I love dim sum so much. That looks really good. Dim sum is perfect, because of the variety of tasty items, in bite sized portions. Cheers! ✌️
It's so nice seeing you outside in the beautiful weather at that lovely park. The dim sum looks so good! We have a great dim sum restaurant near us, so we may have to eat some this weekend. Shrimp in crispy tofu is a favorite with my family,
Love Dim Sum. Looks so good... Don't have it often. Need to find a place here in Long Beach . Love and hugs from California..
I absolutely love dim sum! Especially, the turnip cake and har gow. Everything that you boys picked looked delicious! Thank you for sharing! 😋🥰😋

Great video! Now i am hungry!
Loved this episode, we have Tim Ho Won in Melbourne Australia, I go often😀
I love dim sum! And funny enough, those azaleas at the start of the video look the same as the ones growing all over my north carolina town.
Tim Ho Wan has several signature dishes. You got 2 of them - turnip cake and cha siew bolo bun. :) Also, the 7 vegetable dumpling is called crystal dumpling here. FYI. Good job, guys!
WOW!! Tim Ho wan food seems amazing! The Bao!! Hurrah!!

Lovely video, thanks guys!
Lovely day to be out and eat delicious food.
This looks so good! I love dimsum too. I will write this place down so when my partner and I can visit Tokyo again we will go.

Wow it all looked so good. Terrific video 💜
We’ve had Tim Ho Wan eatery ( a few outlets ) in Singapore since years ago. There were queues then but not any more. Yup .. nice dim sum .
I LOVE dim sum. The cheung fun is my favorite is as well. I don't think I've ever had it with the char siu though. Yum !!! It looks so good, I'm jealous. I have always wanted to go to a Dim Sum restaurant, but there are none within hours of me. Thanks for the nosh.
