I guess my left half might fit into the dress :) We need more needle knitting machines for larger size people, who do not like that mandatory mid sew 2 panels thingy. And by larger, I mean anyone larger than a medium size, because I really do not think L size won't come out as a single pannel from these machines.
I totally agree. You can buy a flat bed knitting machine with 130-200 needles which can create MUCH larger panels - I got mine on FB marketplace for $150!! Sadly sentro's can only knit so many stitches :/
I’m thinking side panels to enlarge the sizing. What do you think ? Of course down the arm pits till the the rest of the length. It this doable in your opinion?
Omg thank you so much for this tutorial! Going to try this with all the black yarn I have 🖤🤍 and thank you for explaining everything like detailed wise ! 🧡
When I slip stitch my sides together for any sentro project, the sides end up looking really holey and I can see the stitches when it’s flipped inside out. Do you know why? I feel like I’m crocheting it tight too but maybe not enough??
i fricking *love* your videos! they’re so cute! ❤❤you’re like *magical* with crochet and also the knitting machine!😊 also i think i asked you this on ig too, but b4 you stop the sentro vids, could you please do another one of the crocheted/knitting machine balaclavas you made for xmas in a video if possible?
Wow gorgeous! As a bigger gal, I'm going to figure out inserting solid side panels from the armpit down (bonus; I won't have to line up Stripes except the upper bodice)!
Hi! I don’t have a knitting machine so I’m gonna try to do this by hand. What size of knitting needles would you recommend that can get the same results as if it’s knitted in a knitting machine?
thank you so much!!! I always sew my panels together with a slip stitch, but you can also use a mattress stitch which is more seamless. just try to make sure you slip stitch along one row for a more seamless look!!
Loveeee this !! I attempted to make this following ur exact instructions but noticed from early on the edges (44 and 3) are alot looser than yours. Any tips?
@lilyfoubisou I also came across alot of drop stitches and when I try to save them the whole thing comes apart. I'm an advance crocheter but notice when using the sentro ALOT more patience and attention is needed😔
hi!!! sometimes I tie the yarn together if I'm feeling lazy but you can also switch yarns at the end of the row (either side) by just taking out the old yarn and placing new yarn in the feeder!!! When you crank, the needles pull the new yarn down
I’m 4’11 I’m a real shorty so for anyone my height once I’m done I’ll tell y’all how many rows I did. Bc I know for a fact 230+ rows may be a bit much for my shirt self
Good afternoon. May I ask about what size dress you wear? I just bought a sentro and would like to try making you dress. I am 5ft 6 in and about 135 lbs (size 8). Thank you.
for this particular pattern I can't do increases because I'm using the maximum amount of stitches in the panel setting! but you absolutely can do increases & decreases on the sentro. I would search it on youtube, it would be hard to explain in a comment but it's really straightforward!!
omg thats a super interesting idea!!! they're slightly sheer but if you use two panels for example and they don't stretch on your body they're not very sheer at all!!
@Lily Foubisou yeh 2 panels maytress stitched together would be roughly the same width as 1 full panel. It wouldn't be as sheer and they wouldn't curl at the edges either
I use a row counter app on my phone! every swipe left or right = 1 row. :) And I do that to make sure my body work is secure and the waste yarn doesn't unravel to it!!! you can do less rows of waste yarn on the cast on edge of the project because it will not unravel, but on the cast off side the yarn isn't secure. It's totally up to you :)
omg nooo hahaha! Did you do 410 rows? if so, it should be long enough (I'm 5'9" and it's perfect for me!) The panels stretch out and can be very deceiving when they aren't assembled!!! If not, it can be really tricky but you can put the panel back on the machine...i do it by putting a stitch marker in each stitch and meticulously putting them back on each stitch of the machine. there might be a video on how to do that!!!
@@lilyfoubisou I Omg thank you so much !!! I miss calculated how long I wanted it because I’m 5,3 & wanted it a little shorter anyways I decided to take a few rows off & I got too excited & took it off the machine too early 😂😂😂completely my fault haha thank you for the help !!!
I totally get it!!! There’s a learning curve with it for sure. My mini dress tutorial might help with troubleshooting the panel setting!!! I go super into detail about it there
Lily, I like your tutorials, but remember there are many like myself who are plus size and one panel is not going to fit a bustier figure. Anyway you could do a tutorial for same dress in a large size? Thx
I totally hear you!!! I know this is not size inclusive at all, I have just been making things in my size bc of limited time on my part but I never want to exclude anyone from my tutorials!!! I will definitely look into making a tutorial for larger sizes! In the meantime I would recommend following the same tutorial but using two panels for the front of the dress and two for the back of the dress! Unfortunately the machine only has 48 needles so you would have to have a front and back middle seam for any larger sizes :/ but there are flat bed knitting machines that are much more flexible in terms of sizing that I want to get into
waste yarn is throwaway yarn you knit at the beginning and end of your panels to have the cleanest edge on your finished project! When you make a panel on the sentro, the first row is always looser and jankier looking than the rest so the waste yarn allows u to unravel until a neater row
This is so confusing, how come you have 2 pegs without yarn during the start of the video when cranking your waste yarn and then 5 pegs without yarn magically appear after you’ve finished cranking the waste yarn???

Hi! I don’t have a knitting machine so I’m gonna try to do this by hand. What size of knitting needles would you recommend that can get the same results as if it’s knitted in a knitting machine?
Hi Mary!!! I would recommend 4mm knitting needles for this project but not 100% sure because I haven't hand knit this myself!
I’m just new to this am I to use panel settings?
I love this. As a plus sized person you said to make 2 panels and sew them together. What stitch would you recommend please?
thank you so much!!! I always sew my panels together with a slip stitch, but you can also use a mattress stitch which is more seamless. just try to make sure you slip stitch along one row for a more seamless look!!
Love. Do you think i could just use medium weight tho? Idk how much of a difference it would make
thank you!! the actual length and width of the garment would probably be a bit bigger, but you can totally make adjustments as needed for yourself!
Loveeee this !! I attempted to make this following ur exact instructions but noticed from early on the edges (44 and 3) are alot looser than yours. Any tips?
oh no!!! it might be bc of tension when you turn your row, make sure to hold that yarn a little tighter when you turn your rows so it's tighter!!
@lilyfoubisou I also came across alot of drop stitches and when I try to save them the whole thing comes apart. I'm an advance crocheter but notice when using the sentro ALOT more patience and attention is needed😔

Can I use Acrylic Yarn to make this cute dress? I don't have a budget to pay any more than 5 per roll of yarn
absolutely!
Good afternoon. May I ask about what size dress you wear? I just bought a sentro and would like to try making you dress. I am 5ft 6 in and about 135 lbs (size 8). Thank you.
Hi! Yes absolutely, I typically wear a size 4/6 but I think this tutorial would work great for you!!!
i never seen such a machine before. i am 5'4 how do you know how many rows the machine is doing?
Would it look good with a slit if you hem around the space left out or would it just not work at all ?
That's a good Q!!! I would try blocking the pieces and then do a slit with a hem around it, it might lay normally then! but I'm not totally sure
Would be something to test out if you ever have the time to get around to it. Would love to see if you do
I would love to know what brand and types of yarn youre using? The colors are sooo vibrant :)
Thank youuu!!! I actually dye it myself!! I sell some on my website
I love this soooo much ! Could you possibly do a backless dress either short or long.
omg yessss! that sounds so cute I'll get brainstorming rn
I’m obsessed! I have my panels finished, I was wondering if you block your panels or not?
Amazinggg!!! I don't block them for this pattern, I don't think it's super necessary!!
How do you decrease Or increase stitches to make the dress fit at different body parts like hip and waist?
for this particular pattern I can't do increases because I'm using the maximum amount of stitches in the panel setting! but you absolutely can do increases & decreases on the sentro. I would search it on youtube, it would be hard to explain in a comment but it's really straightforward!!
Hi you did an amazing job!!! Love the colors you chose. Do you think a sewing machine can be used to sew panels together?
aw thank you so much!!!! It totally could!! It would definitely be more seamless
Is it see through?
Hey honey quick question do we have to do 15 rows of the waste yarn or can we do less rows
you can do less! just make sure the final rows of waste yarn don't unravel
Thank you queen ❤🫶🏽 and just for reference how tall are u just so I can know if I need to add more rows or do less rows
How are the rows counted? Is one row to the left and then another to the right counter as one or two?
that would be two rows! every pass you do on your panel is one row :)
@@lilyfoubisou thanks I got it now 😃
How many more grams of yarn would full length sleeves add?
probably about 200g 🤔
Hello ✨ What are your body measurements? I’m interested so I can reference the sizing
Hi!!! I have a 35" bust, 26.5" waist, and 42" hips
what size dress would you say this is? sorry if it was mentioned in the video already.
No worries!!! It's for a size XS-M! If you need a larger size you can follow the same tutorial but make two panels for the front and two for the back
@@lilyfoubisouthanks so much!
How do you keep track of the rows?
I used to count them and right the number down, but you can actually buy a row counter on amazon!!
Are you using 3 ply yarn , so we will know . Thank you
It’s 8-ply! It’s a DK weight yarn :)
Stunning!! How long did this take you in total?

How did you keep up with your row count
I use a panel setting row counter from Amazon!! This is the one I bought amzn.to/3p1xtiA

Is it not too thin when using panels? Tubes would make it thicker so undies don't show through lol
