My 2016 r1 sound exavtly like this.. Order of diagnosis 1. Starter relay = good 2. Fuel pump= weak so it was replaced, still not starting 3. Spark plug= not firing 4. Stator pick up sensor= no continuity when checked with a tester, therefore its not telling the ecu to send electricity to the spark plugs. ,mechanic says its the main issue. Wil update when we get then stator pulse pick-up sensor coil update: no electricity was going to the spark plugs. mechanic replaced the stator pulse pick up coil, that small black thing. electricity going to the spark plugs and bike is starting flawlessly .
@@Steven-bk3ye was this happening every time you tried to start it ? Mine sounds like this when the bike gets hot it’s a very hard start but when it’s cold it starts right up

Hey. I had an issue with my 2009 after a heavy crash on a track. It would crank and crank and u could feel it back fire with a woomph in the airbox. Anyway, i took the timing chain tensioner out, reset it and reinstalled and to my surprise and delight, it fired up first time and has done evert time since. I think the crash impact did something to the cam timing, or the chain jumped off tension but i dont care, it fixed it. Worth a go???

1 bike needs gas to start 2 if it’s getting fuel and doing that timing might be off or the ignition timing
Did you try putting the gas tank on?

CDI is that the ECU you are referring to?
These bikes doesn't have CDI, but ECU instead.
