I forgot to mention... when you're done sanding you need to wipe your butcher block with a moist cloth to remove all the dust then let them dry completely before adding the WATCO. Sorry about that! 🙃 Leave us a comment with any questions you might have.
Hi thank you for this information... other than the watco yearly reapplication do you do anything else more regularly for maintenance? Like for example mineral oil every few weeks?
Hi @SterlingScreencasts we don't use mineral oil on our countertops at all. Regular maintenance consists of wiping the counters with a damp dishcloth and making sure there are no water puddles or wet spots around the sink.
Quick question, can you use the oil and finish on a regular wood board, like a book shelf, that isn't a butcher block? Love the way your kitchen looks now.
Good question ScreenJunky12, and thank you! 😃Yes, you can use Watco on wood besides butcher blocks. As long as the board or book shelf is bare wood and doesn't have any stain, paint, other coating or protective sealant on it.

Hello Silke. I used to know a Silke when I was in high school. Did you ever live in Ruidoso, NM?
Hello @@amanda69 I am not the Silke you knew in high school. I have sadly never been to New Mexico, but hope to visit some day.
Good job with the update video 👍🏾
Thank you 🙏
