You can remove the original head, it is a pain, but, if you fan get a small thing in there to slowly wedge it apart, it will open. I did this to repaint the eyes a metallic red.
I used a hobby blade and swapped the heads, looks great. I also picked up the PE06 and 07 sets. The figures needed weapons and some upgraded limbs. I only added the mixmaster PE part, the rest of devastator is the DNA kit with some toyhax labels. Love the end result, the devastator I’ve always wanted!!!
Wow this kit is exactly what I was waiting for!! 1) I can now have UW dev with the lighter face 2) the forearm extensions looks great 3) the red visor is a fantastic edition b/c the eyes look dead unless they're turned on. That way, you can have the red glow without having to constantly have the eyes on!!!
The Perfect Effect Mixmaster cab is easily the best of the three, and I quite liked the Hook arm beefinator and purple thigh covers, though the Scavenger shovel is comically oversized and I didn’t care for the shoulder assemblies or the ball jointed wrists on their hands. I ordered this set (last November [sigh]) primarily for the shoulder, wrist, and hand assemblies and the LED-infused head (love that they kept the same head sculpt-the one area for which CW figures almost always shine). Thanks for the review, as both you and Peaugh revealed the shoulder swivel that was not highlighted or even mentioned in DNA’s test videos. Hopefully this set will ship soon.

The head from DNA's kit can be added from the to hooks natural assembly... but in order to do so, you will also need a 1.4 mm flathead screwdriver. Once the screw has been removed from the back the head mounted to Hook's assembly will show a slight gap on the right lower side... take the 1.4mm flathead and work it into the opening to pry the head apart. (if you are worried about damaging Hook don't be... the plastic is durable and the figure is sold enough to hold up so don't be afraid to apply a lil pressure if need.)

If it included something like the Dr. Wu telescoping hook would be the perfect kit everyone needs for CW or UW Devastator.

Im not really expecting anyone to see this, but in all truth, if you plan on using the DNA head all the time, why not risk it and just break the original head in order to remove it?... If you break it and the new head fits then success, if you break it and the new head doesn't fit then nothing's changed since your still having to partsform the head regardless.
Honestly this seems like the best Devy upgrade. Very poseable, and not too greebley like X2toys The Mixmaster cab is a tad ugly though, I think Perfect Effect wins that one
My question is, why do none of these upgrade kits come with pieces to put in place of the other 2 wheels on Mixmaster? Like the axel behind the first wheels behind Mixmasters new cab?

So for someone who only owns the Unite Warriors version, do you think that what it adds is worthwhile if the new head and thigh fillers aren't important?

I’m trying to fix/finish a SDCC copy I got for 30 Canadian but he’s got a no feet for hook, mixmaster, scrapper cab, chest crest, combination hands, half the gun and all of Bonecrusher except his left foot 😂 I’m trying to find 3D printed files to fix this, but no way I’m make a whole bonecrusher
Still prefer NBK devastator compared to any of the CW devastators and any of the upgrade kits on the CW devastator. I could understand saying that the combined mode on the CW is better but the individual constructicons on the NBK, it's not even an argument. NBK just destroys the CW in every way except combined and even then it is debatable.

Addon kits are cool, but you're right; we need a Hook that turns into a leg and a Prowl that can form the upper body for a true Prowlastator.

Soaking the head in warm water prior to splitting helps.

hey i took the head off the purple part of hook and got the Dk-01 head attached on there instead. fits perfectly.

Yes, there is a ton of glue. I haven't been able to get a DK-01 so I can't do it myself but it is possible. Hobby Knife for your thoughts?

I sent you a how to slide show on getting the head off. I go by Baddevastator there.

Mine's primarily been living on the Unite Warriors version. Thigh fillers aren't really any less important on that one, the gaps are still there

Floor polish is your best bet. The kit doesn't change anything with that.

all these upgrade kits and not one of them will hold the cabs to the treads for the arms, so this kit will be a pass just because of that.
