Really interesting!!! The beauty in Duane Allman's guitar playing was his tone, technique, and overall uniqueness. I kid you not...when Duane Allman became well known in North America and the North East...teenagers wanted to play like him. It was a craze. Kids wanted to see him play and kids wanted to take up guitar to play like him. A lot of people wouldn't remember this. This occurred between 1970 and 1972. When Brothers And Sisters was released I was 16 years old. People around me hated the album because Duane Allman wasn't on it. I kid you not...they were fanatical over him. He was iconic to the kids from my generation for sure. Everybody kept playing the Duane Allman tracks from Eat A Peach and saying things like..."These are his last recordings " as if they clinged to that and never let go. All that was real and it was actually felt by people. Duane Allman had a very original style for slide guitar. He sometimes sounded like a horn or an organ...and the notes cried and soared ...sometimes like a violin...or harmonica... No one had heard anything like it and he was really respected in the North as a genius musician
Book was a great read ! Was fortunate enough to see Duane twice in 1971 with the Allmans in Philadelphia
Was that at Syria Mosque?
Duane was the best! He, BB, Hendrix, and prince.
And Dickey, please. Read the book to know what Duane thought of Dickey.
She was on the cover of Brothers and Sisters. Glad to see she's done well.

What happened to Macon? Beautiful city absolutely being destroyed. 😞
I couldn’t believe the beauty and the destruction.
Ha, she's got Dad's ginger hair. Duane the best there ever was...
Let's remember he was half of the twin lead duo.
