About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

the "shivering" guitar riff hooks me totally..Modern Life Is Rubbish is a CLASSIC..
One of the best Blur songs in my opinion. I'm always glad to hear it again. Ending could last forever.
There's a Pixies song with a similar, repetitive, magnificent outro. Some wag on UA-cam looped it and doubled the running time. It's masterful. Song is called No13 Baby.

When I was about 6 this used to be my favourite blur song when my dad used to put their music on in the car. I guess even younger me had a great taste in music.

I saw them in San Francisco in ‘91. They played this before Modern Life came out. It was released on the Volume comp.

This is one of those Blur songs that hits you a bit more in your 30s if you listen to the lyrics and get what "oily water" they're referencing.

@@videotrash_online Blur were one of the first "rock" bands I ever got into, with more their singles and bigger songs grabbing me. This was 7-8 years ago. Ive since come back after shoegaze has become my go-to genre and the sheer amount of it here that I missed has blown my mind.
