About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

How the hell was this album not absolutely massive?. every song is an absolute belter.
The world is fool...
my favorite blur album of all time
yesss
I refer you to the album title.
too heady for the belly-feelers
How this isn't lauded as one of the greatest songs of all time i will never know. Graham Coxon was just sublime on this track. Guitar doesn't get better than this.
It's decent ...goat? Nah
The guitar is perfect.
Coxon is a Beast
You sir.......know what you are talking about. The guitar work on this is everything.
Coxon is a legend.
That bass too though, Alex nailed it!
Blur is so underrated, they've unironically made some of the best songs I've ever heard.
but they are not underrated lol
@@drewrah77 they're only not underrated to those who listened to them in the 90's. You won't find but a handful of current 16-25 year olds that even know who they are. Which is sad because they deserve better.
@@OrchidFlame i wouldnt say they deserve better, they are world renowned, i just think this album is more deserving.
@@drewrah77 Americans basically are only aware of them as proto-Gorillaz, if that
Unironically?
I love this song so much I set the intro as my alarm ringtone. Wakes me up each time. Scares the hell out of me. Also set as certain peoples ringtone to show their importance.
I get goosebumps every time I hear this...my all time favourite blur song.
My all time favourite Blur song. They kindly put the chords above the lyrics on the inner sleeve. Still bloody impossible to play though.
_UNDERRATED!_ This whole album is a *brilliant piece of art
For me, Turn It Up is the only let down. Other than that, lp's a classic.
ClydeJarrod37UK yeah, Turn it Up is sort of the “government cheese” track of the album, but all the others, such as the hidden gem Peach are fantastic. In my opinion, this is blur’s best album
@@Kelly14UK yeah Damon says it’s trash but the record label wanted it on the album cause they felt it was the only song that had a chance of being big in America
that riff is fucking insane
This album has stood up well over the years.... moved me to tears a good few times
same bruv same. listening for 20 years now and i still play it start to finish
Blur is a band that at least half their songs sound like hit singles. Even the ones that don't are still great songs.
So glad here in 2023 the band still love this!
This is some good ass music for a bunch of kids in their early twenties. Fuckin talented
i love you blur
oops wrong song
The verses are being whispered in the background, aren't they?
i don't know if it is true, but now that you have mentioned,i can hear it:))
it's Graham doing the back vocals, my man
Yes 😉
One of my favorite Blur songs, and in my favorite songs ever playlist. It's a hidden gem, really.
2:38 is my favourite part. Great blur song!
Don't break your back at Villa Rosie every night....
I love the guitar on this track.
The production of this album is so incredible :O
My favourite song of this great album!
underrated Blur song
I never knew how underrated 'til I saw the view count! Sheesh! Well done everyone here!
Like most of their songs
Totally agree. Why its not a live favourite no one knows.
this is one of their best
yap :D modern Life is Rubbish
This is what you call a perfect record. Infectious throughout.
Practice doesn't make perfect when you're interbreeding
Speaking drivel can make it confused with heavy breathing
Mixing drinks at water holes get snarled up in the suburbs
Meandering through this and that you are suspected vagueness
When work is done go to Villa Rosie every night
So tasty
So form a queue at Villa Rosie every night
Across the common every day you come across the fine line
But wearing boots can prevent the leeches in the long grass
Eating between meals stifles the appetite, is it healthy?
Coming home that nagging doubt there in your belly
And all the while at Villa Rosie every night
You're tasting
A sweeter life at Villa Rosie every night
So taste
All losers come to Villa Rosie every night
They're waiting
So form a queue at Villa Rosie every night
So tasty
Don't break your heart back at Villa Rosie every night
We're tasting
A sweeter life at Villa Rosie every night
So tasty
This song sounds even better when Blur plays it live!😎🇬🇧🏴
Villa Rosie - seems like a dive bar I'm sure I'd enjoy going to.
Its obviously about a Brothel or Bordello were is the lyrics about drinking?
Feels like there's a hint of the beatles in the chorus, love it
This is pure brilliance.
im sad they never played this live
The Firzen they played it on the soundcheck of a concert on México in 2015
They're playing it live at the minute :)
Good news
This is so heavy and Graham totally rocks out.
Beautiful...
this song makes me feel good

Ese coro en susurro de Damon de fondo le da el toque joyero. Puta joya!
Brilliant tune 😎👍🏻❤️🔥
Still my fave song from MLIR album along with Chemical world and Star shaped. I heard somewhere that the guitar intro is hard to play even for Graham 👀
This is now my house name
so underratedddd
Graham talks about this song a bit on That Pedal Show at 15:00. pretty funny.
I just saw that; it made me laugh. "Why did I do that?!?"
Practice doesn't make perfect, when you're interbreeding.
This track is pure ear candy.
its beatiful
my favorite song:
The Great Escape would have seemed a modest success.
do we have nothing left but to be ghosts of joy?
cool song
Marvelous
My whole 20's.
freshness. room. style. simple BLUR :)
2023 still tasty
My mum asked me to play the “woo hoo” song, I knew she meant song 2, but I played this instead :)
Lol
What are the chords for this song? Yes
XTC vibe here. Cannot tell which song though
The chorus reminds me of Song 2 before Song 2 was even written.
So tasty 2018 ooo--oo
Clear Madness influence.
Yo he be eating mad cake
Best
1:20 not so bad
This is the song i listened to the day i met My ex. Hits hard, advice for dating: Don't date woman who have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
Good memories tho
David bowie had four kids and they all joined Blur
Claire ¡
Listening to the level of creativity of this band from MLIR right up until 13 and comparing it to their 2 most recent albums confuses the hell out of me.
I'm convinced the worst thing that happened to Blur was the time apart, Coxon's time away especially has taken its toll on his guitar playing much like John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers, both of them got into other styles, Folk/Electronica/Sountracks and their guitar playing/distinct style diminished.
I''ve not heard one ear catching riff from Coxon on the last two album, whether its due to the above reason.. or down to how they write songs changing as a group IDK.
All losers come to Villa..... 😅
